would hve enjoyed being on the beach side better--our veiw was not all that nice from our balcony-resented having to pay $14.00 a day to self park--was never told of that before booking our reservations ---hotel located across the street from the beach--if we had been on the beach could have had more access to places to eat-probably would never stay there again--Robin-Tampa

There was no AC the entire time we stayed here and the carpet was not the cleanest.

The room size was terrific. Bed was comfortable. Kitchenette was a nice benefit. However, there were limited towels. There were only two small trash cans, one in the bathroom and one at the desk. There was no trashcan under the sink or in the kitchen area. Staff was friendly. Restaurant was fairly pricey for dinner. We didn't like the fact that you had to cross such a busy street to get to the beach. The pool area was very nice.

The Crowne Plaza wants to be a 5 star, but just falls short. The aesthetic of the property is lovely. The lobby is large, clean, decorated with a gentle modern contemporary feel. The bed had a mountain of pillows of varying sizes and textures. The mattress was on the firm side. The shower was large and nicely tiled with heavy glass doors. The toilet paper was not the highest quality and the towels were of average grade, at best. The rooms have a wet bar, built in microwave, a stainless steel mini fridge (on the larger side of mini fridges), coffee maker, granite counter and ample cabinet space. Our terrace was our refuge after a long day of gallivanting around town. The view was of the inter costal and the pool area. It was a tranquil and charming view. The pool is large and family friendly. The hot tub is over sized. The Tiki bar can also put food orders into the only restaurant, Elements Bistro. The ?element? that is keeping Crowne Plaza from being amongst the best in the area is the staffs? poor training. Everyone we encountered was very pleasant and smiled and sincerely wanted to help. But their competency level was low. From the cleaning crew not replenishing the coffee, to the bellhop not able to service the influx of guests, to the front desk not able to find our reservation without help. Elements Bistro has an appealing menu. The blackened beef tips where the best I?ve had, the Chicken Quesadillas would be hard to beat the chicken fettuccini was a huge hit. That being said we had the absolute worst service at the restaurant. A little more training and this place will be a gem.

I was deceived into thinking this hotel was directly on the beach. It's not. It's on the Intercoastal Waterway side and you can see a little bit of ocean in the distance but the real oceanfront hotels are across the street. Our view was nice but not what I expected. Got a nice view of the waterway and the drawbridge. The bathroom didn't seem to be very well thought out. Shower was spacious but only one tiny tray for soap, so shampoo and condition and other products sit on the floor. The sink is located outside of the bathroom which I've never liked at any hotel or house. The hotel was clean enough but not as clean as it should have been. Stains on towels, robes, and pillows were unattractive. A few stains on the bathroom walls. The Bistro in the hotel is ok, not the greatest but nice staff. Breakfast buffet is ok, but I was hoping for it to include Cheese Blintzes, Waffles, and/or French Toast, which I had at the Westin Diplomat's buffet during this stay. The pool was very nice and open until 11pm. Tiki bar next to the pool.

The room was decorated well. Bed was comfortable. Lobby/elevator/parking lot was dirty. Hotel did not seem like a 4 star. The room was pleasing, spacious and reasonably decorated. It had a fridge and counter area. Beds were comfortable. Balcony overlooked a parking lot. Lobby and exterior looked updated, but with minimal effort and not enough upkeep. Food seemed interesting on the menu, but didn't pull it off.

This is a well kept hotel. It is probably not the pinnacle of hotels in this area. It lacks a spa for example. However, the hotel feels very luxurious and has a pristine pool. You are a block from the beach and have a 7-eleven next door to buy beer and wine. I would say if you are trying to escape the winter cold and want a romantic getaway this would be the perfect place to go for a quiet weekend.

My husband and I could not have been more pleased. The hotel was clean, the beds were extremely comfortable, and we heard no noise. Huge shower, and although a bit odd having the sink inside the room rather than in the bathroom, it was just fine. It looked just like part of the furniture, attractively done. The staff was friendly and always available. I appreciate having someone at the front desk at all times. There was always a Good Bye when we left and Welcome Back when we returned. The beach access was fine too. The walk was virtually minutes. I have stayed at hotels directly on the beach, and if the hotel is large enough, been further away from the beach than we were here at the Crowne Plaza. Love having a microwave and refridgerator in the room. So convenient. Pool is just lovely, with plenty of lounges and shade, again very clean. The beach was beautiful, clean and not crowded, lifeguards on duty. It is a very short walk to the grocery store and restaurants. Just accross the bridge. Wal-Mart, Publix, Wynn Dixie, Panera Bread, Burger King, Subway. We walked several times at dusk and always felt safe, the area is mostly condo's and was very quiet like being in a small community rather than a city. We would definately stay again.

Staff super friendly, helpful and professional. The hotel is centrally located on the inland waterway - you must cross a fourlane street to get the the beach. Rooms are as large as I've seen - about 30 feet deep and about 18 feet wide with a small balcony. The dining room breakfast consisted of warm scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage, stale bagles for $17. At dinnertime the dining room was empty - but pricy. The pool service at lunch was understaffed and slow - had to wait 20 minutes for a bill - had to page the waitress. Parking was very good - use the poolside service elevator to go to and from the parking lot. Side trip to everglades was worthwhile. HOWEVER - we had a rented car, and drove the the bus pick-up point, only to be driven thru Miami for two hours picking up others. Had we known, we would have skipped the organized transportation and gone directly to Everglades National Park on our own. Air gravel to and from and car rental were fine.

I am overall satisfied with my stay but the price quotes I received for parking and beach side amenities were considerably higher than what hotel information told me over the phone few days prior to my arrival. Also, they refused to accept my Priority Club Rewards card.

The rooms were beautiful. The cost of self parking too expensive and we were told one price and it was more when we checked out. Overall the hotel is very nice the rooms are aesthetically pleasing. Besides the parking rates everything was nice.

Family trip was almost a 4 star experience. Good inside hotel service, clean larger than average rooms, great pool, nice views, close to Miami and Lauderdale. We really weren't disappointed at all, although a few amenities would have put it over the top. Lack of enough pool towels and not so stellar pool (Tiki Bar) food/service gave this a less than 4 star feel. Overall a very pleasant experience and would go back. Very nice hotel and reasonably priced.

Just flew down to do some shopping and see our daughter and grandchild. Worst drivers I have ever encountered. Hotel was very nice and staff extremely courteous. Valet parking fo 18 a day I thought was a little high but great service. Food in this area is fantastic with lots of different cultures very evident. If you love ice cream you must!!! hit up Udelle's ice cream stand for pure delight. Beach is nice but crowded but pool at hotel is great for families and just lounging, always had towels available. Beach makes you want to be in the Bahamas where there are no crowds.
