Excellent stop overHotel was very busy due to River Festival, but still the staff were very friendly and efficient. The Gym changing areas, could have done with a spruce up / clean, but overall it was a good hotel, with a decor.Room was well priced for the reduced rate we received, but certainly not worth full price for the standard room.

Friendly staff. Not a thing was negative. The staff at the front desk was amazing, professional, courteous and helpful. The rooms were super-clean and very nicely appointed. After some bad experiences in Scotland, this was just fantastic here.

it was the cleanliness of the public areas that were a particular problem. The large areas of glass which should have afforded a beautiful a beautiful view were very mucky and the carpet left a bit to be desired.

Crowne Plaza I recently stayed at the Crowne Plaza Glasgow. I booked this hotel as i was attending a concert at the SECC. I found the hotel itself excellent, very clean, nice rooms and breakfast was superb. However, i was not impressed with the staff working at the door on the nightshift, the attitude shown by them was extremely poor for a four star hotel.

Excellent views of the River Clyde and the Squity Bridge. Lobby is ugly and has ads all over the place.

great location and view was excellent, thoughtful and convenient walkway from car park to hotel foyer enables patrons not to have to walk the long route round to the front entrance. staff were very helpful and polite ,rooms were very spacious and double bed was enourmous .breakfast was on special offer if purchased once checked into the hotel and was fantastic really would recommend you have breakfast in this hotel.overall best hotel i have stayed in for a very long time.

The staff was friendly. Nothing was not to my liking. I only stayed here for 4 hours because of a flight but they checked me in quickly, the room was very nice, and in the morning they let me use their phone, gave me an apple on the go since I wouldn't be able to stay for breakfast, and replaced my parking ticket for free since they knew I was only there a short time.

Location was excellent as we were attending a concert at the SECC. Room was very confortable with modern furnishings. I used the swimming pool on two occasions and was very impressed with the facilities. Breakfast was excellent. Will definitely stay again when attending a conceert at the SECC or Armadillo.

Reception Staff Great......Bar/Waiting Staff awful!I chose the Crowne Plaza for the closeness to the SECC for a concert myself & my boyfriend were going to. Reception staff were very welcoming, cannot fault them at all. Room was nice, view over the river was lovely.Went for a meal downstairs at the bar, waiter was too busy chatting to 2 female costumers to bother serving us so we had to place order at the bar. We were then greeted by a very unhappy looking gentleman who barely spoke above a whisper, he then proceeded to dump our cutlery on our table & storm off. I do believe he was the bar manager! Other barman that served us was far more cheery & chatty, wish I had taken a note of his name to sing his praises! Meal was a tad pricey & the steak pie was a bad choice, not enough gravy & the meat was dry. Background music was awful, felt like I was eating in a lift.Overall, great access to SECC!

hotel looking somewhat dated with lots of swirly carpets. the air conditioning was really noisy and did not get much sleep. prefer to be able to get fresh air. however on the whole hotel was clean, friendly, with lovely views. Breakfast was good and the service was excellent.

I would certainly recommendGood, helpful customer service. Staff on the desk were very welcoming. Had an evening meal in the restaurant - good quality food and friendly waitress.

We were unexpectedly booked into an Executive Room which came with a number of pleasant extras - a complimnetary drink in the Lobby bar on arrival, a larger Executive room, access to the Executive lounge with complimentary spft drink and snacks unitl 5pm, then complimentary wine or beer and very tasty canapes fomr 5-9pm. We also recedived a priorty club card which get us the same in the future and we had free late check out!!. The staff were exttremely friendly and helpful - we were there for the Take That concert (excellent!) and the concierge arrnaged minibus transport both to and from the venue for guests which was excellent as transport was a real issue. I would defibnetly stay here again and would have no reservation recommending it to others.

Take That ConcertStayed at the Crowne Plaza in June 2009. It was a really lovely hotel. The staff were equally as nice. Transport was provided to and from the venue, for a very reasonable fee!! All in all I would recommend and I would certainly stay again.

Review Not a bad hotel at all. My negative comments would be..... We are now in the 21st century and still some \"big\" hotels see fit to charge for WIFi ?? This is a particular bug bear for me and it is now one of the most important things I look for as many smaller, cheaper Hotels offer this service for free. Car park is large but beware if there is a gig on at the SCC next door as you will have to park in the overflow, for parking expect to pay 5GBP per day and do this through the reception as the machine in the car park does not give discount. You can come and go as often as you like each day which is usefull. If possible ask for upgrade to Club Room as they are better quality, have better views and free drinks in the 15th floor lounge. Breakfast is good although the sausages are cheap there is a big selection of other items. Only ate bar meals and they were above average nothing better. Bar staff however were friendly and helpfull. I don't like chain hotels... generally. They tend to be bland and usually in locations suited only to those who dont care about the location, only what its near to. This is opne of the exceptions. It's location alongside the water withe Waverley moored along side; good access to, and views of, the city (which really is far better than you think) and a welcoming approach means this is a good place to stay in Glasgow. Only downer on this stay was the attitude of the woman who showed us to our breakfast table - the other staff in the breakfast room were fine.

Room temperatureThe rooms airconditioning didn't appear to work. the room was ridiculously warm during the night preventing anything other than short periods of sleep being gotten. It was unbearable and appeared not to be confined to one room as we were initially in room 807 but upgraded to 1510 at the additional cost of £40. Is it too much to ask for a bit of temperature control? This situation alone would prevent me from returning to this hotel ever again.
