I found the hotel in downtown Dallas relatively easily. The desk clerk was nice but advised me he didn't think it was safe to walk back from the House of Blues (about 8 blocks) at night. Their shuttle would take me there but doesn't run later in the evening. Biggest turn-off - my room had no light bulbs or lamp shades on either the bedside or desk lamps. I complained and they brought up a bare bulb (still no shades)!!

The location was very attractive with a view of the city. Under construction with noAC in 2 rooms. Overall the hotel was in a great location and very good customer service. Although, the room was not maintenances before allowing guests to stay in the room.

Fantastic recently renovated hotel close to everything in Downtown. About to become a Crowne Plaza hotel. Excellent complimentary breakfast and service is first rate.

The hotel was nice but you could tell it was older. The rooms were nice size and the beds were comfortable. I would not recommend the pool. Our room was over it and you could see how dirty it was. They started cleaning it the first night there but by the 3rd morning when we left it still was not completed. The staff was friendly though. The vending machine was empty but the staff did offer the complimentary shuttle to take us to the nearest store for snacks. The hot breakfast was okay, I've had better but I've also had much worse. Overall it was a good experience and I would stay there again if I were going to that part of Dallas.

We were there for a convention and location was perfect to convention center and restaurants. The air conditioner did not work in the first room. The dinginess and carpet in the hotel made it seem unclean although we thought it was generally very clean. The message light blinked constantly even after checking messages. There never were any messages. This was a little irritating. The breakfast was good. Parking was expensive ($10 daily) compared to nicer hotels in the area. The website had not been updated and parking price said $9 a day on web.

The room was larger and more comfortable than I expected. Their shuttle doesn't service the airport, so you're on your own getting to the hotel. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the Convention Center and there are several places to eat nearby. The front desk staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. The breakfast area was well stocked and repeatedly replenished. Many of the hotels I've stayed at have staff who don't like there jobs. At the West End, they enjoy their work. They care whether you are having a good stay and they care whether you stay with them in the future. This is probably the best hotel I've ever visited.

good location near the westend district and within walking distance to major attractions. good breakfast and free room internet access.

We arrived at the West End. The room was very nice and the bed the most comfortable of anywhere I have ever stayed. We walked down to Dealy Plaza (very close) but on the return went to the backside of the hotel. We were appraoched for money 3 times in a half hour. Once we figured out not to go out behind the hotel everything was fine.

The room that I was in was a little old and depressing. The lighting was not very good, and everything was very used and rundown. Fixtures were mostly functional, but everything in the room was very basic. I just needed the room for one-night stay for business, but I would have been upset if I had to stay any longer.

Coffee and cleanliness. Under construction, no valet and scary. Floor lamp did not work, blow dryer did not work, internet service did not work and I am unsure if TV worked, maybe it has to be paid for to work. I found a stranger to help me with my luggage part way coming in but I had to handle it alone leaving. I do not think they had a pool or any kind of common facilities other than the coffee area and the hotel lobby which consisted of a small room with a counter. But I must say the lady at the desk was very nice so I was not disappointed with the other stuff. I think this proves that courtesy goes a very long way.

Overall, I enjoyed our stay. Best feature was use of the hotel provided transportation to local sites. Pool on the 9th floor roof was nice; could use a hot tub. Nightly parking is $10. Hot breakfast bar was good. Bed very soft and comfy :)

I had the best time in dallas. the hotel was conveniently located close to the dallas conference hall where i had my seminars. the tub in the bathroom was divine. the bed was nice and plush and had the right amount of pillows (i hate when there are too many pillows). it was great and i would recommend it to all my friends.

Price was great in comparison to services rendered. Construction was being performed. The Hotel was decent. Nothing great.

Hotel has been purchased by another large chain and is in the process of remodeling. No room service or food service available other than a complimentary breakfast in the morning. Front desk staff was indifferent, going through the motions. For those with e-tickets, there are two computers in the lobby where you can print your boarding pass before heading to the airport. That is a good idea. Wireless was easily accessible from the room. Some hotels require codes and special plugs so this was good. Bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet.

The staff in this hotel was fantastic. I've traveled a lot and never found better. They offer a breakfast that?s way beyond what's expected. The rooms were adequate size and very clean. The location is close to transportation but hopefully some of the element outside the hotel will be changed with the new reconstruction of the neighborhood. This is Dallas's hidden gem. Great value.

I love the view from my room. Parking. Overall I would stay there again.

We stayed on the 9th floor. If you like to have your curtains open for light, stay on another floor. The pool was right out our window. So for privacy, we had to keep our curtain closed. I didn't ask for another room, We stayed only 2 nights. Yes, the locations is good for downtown walking. The parking is right there, I would have like to known of more security for night time. The staff was helpful when needed. The place is on the old side, but it is clean and they do try to keep it up.The bathrooms are on the small side and could use a picker upper. The breadfast was good. Gave you a wide variety of choices and only till 9:30 am. would have been nice if it would have lasted till 10:00 or 10:30. It was nice to know you had to have your room key to get to your floor. The only thing was, if somone else came in the elevator with you, DID THEY HAVE A ROOM KEY? IT was nice to have WiFI(free) most hotels are charging for it now. I recommend you stay here.

For the price and the location the West End Hotel was top notch. The only complaint was that we found bugs in our room, and they had a very flippant attitude about the situation.

I enjoyed my stay. The Staff were helpful with directions and restaurants that delivered on nites I was too tired to go out. The maid service was excellent. My A/C was wonderful!! To have a refrig in my room was a real convenience and my leftovers were safe. I'll stay there again the next MannaFest convention!!!
