Weekend breakGreat weekend break. Location of the hotel is excellent, being 1 minutes' walk from one of the main streets. Slightly unusual entrance, where you feel like you're in an underground car park, which you are, but other than that fantastic.Staff were very friendly, and the amenities and food were also excellent.

excellant hotel ideal for city centre , Cheep parking,Rooms spacoius and air conditioned Leisure complex excellant nice bar. Difficult to find not very well signed looks a bit like a car park from the outside at the lower level but a good 4* inside.

Use of internetIt would be of great benefit if the hotel allowed say 15 / 30 minutes free use of wi-fi (to check e-mails),instead of requiring you to take a 24hrs contactVery annoying.

very nice hotel, excellent location for chester, car parking was not good when we arrived but a very nice man helped us, the staff are very nice and helpful, check in and out was quick. the executive lounge was a let down, not enough places to sit, very hot with no windows, very pokey like being in a cupboard really. would not book an executive room again but will definately stay again when going out in chester, oh and the buffet breakfast was fantastic!!!gorgeous pastries to.

Very good HotelVery good service on arrival (Lisa). Lovely room with view of Wales. Stayed for the comedy night, it was very good also. The breakfast - the choice and service was excellent. Very good location. I would book again.

Crowne plaza - a great central locationI stayed at the Crowne plaze for one night with my mother in early June. The room was a standard twin and quite adequate although overlooking a noisy market where teenagers congregate. However, there was no noise at night time. We were on half board and had around £24 each to spend towards the evening meal. This was ok but everything came drenched oil from the smoked salmon to the risotto which unfortunately my mother just found too oily and I agreed. The waitress did offer to change the meal and all the servers were polite and attentive. It's in a great location, just minutes walk from the historic centre, cathedral and river. There's also a reasonable gym and swimming pool so great for families.

Pound for pound the best you'll get!I stay in dozens of hotels every year and have to say I'm always pleased when there's a Crown Plaza near to my destination. Crown Plaza Chester has to be the best yet for all round excellence. Right from being met outside by one of their staff assisting with parking, bags, doors etc to leaving the hotel 24 hours later, the staff were the most helpfull ever, and I mean helpfull 'sincerely' not helpfull 'sickly'. The accommodation was very very clean, even in the corners - (my yard stick) and believe me I look hard. My experience in the restaurant was again excellent, the food was way better than average, tasted like it had been prepared and cooked just for me - exactly how it should be. Breakfast was a delight - even the fried eggs (most places fail on this one), all the food that should be was piping hot too! The position of the hotel in the city centre was second to none - walk out of the hotel and within 90 seconds you're at the shops, 2 mins and you're at the cathedral and in to the main shopping area. I'm certainly looking forward to re-visiting this hotel and would recommend to anyone without any doubts. Enjoy

Excellent value for money.We had an excellent stay at this hotel, from the minute we checked in, the staff were so friendly and helpful. The room we had was lovely, and access to the club lounge was real value for money. The breakfast was really nice, and again the staff couldn't do enough for you. We will definately be staying here again!

Crown Plaza Review 9th MayThis is a lovely modern hotel but layout is a little mixed up, from the main enterance you have to go up two flights of stairs to the the toilets etc (there is lift) but not ideal. The swimming pool & jacuzze are very small, jacuzze only really fits 2 people so if not busy it's lovely, the sauna & steam room although small were great, better than some spa's I have stayed in. Food - Breakfast was really very nice, 4 star as described. The evening meal dinner suppliment on the dinner B&B rate is poor only £23.00 per person, normally we get about £30.00 on this sort of rate so it did not cover the cost our meal. The food was nice, but just ok- I had the fish and it as only warm and quite bland. The staff are very nice, but drinks were a long time in arriving. We are going to come again, but next time just get the B&B rate and and have a meal in the town centre which is less than 5mins walk - A BIG BONUS

Perfect BreakThis was our second visit to the Crown Plaza as the first visit was perfect ,as was the second. The hotel is a 2 minute walk from the centre of Chester so perfect if you need a break from driving and like everything on your doorstep. The staff are all lovely and nothing is too much trouble for them. We could not fault the hotel at all and would certainly not hesitate to book again. The only negative was that the steam room was closed when we stayed on the 2/5/09.

Overall very goodReception staff very helpful - special care taken by DannyRoom very good.Dinner excellent. Restaurant staff good.Breakfast OK - looked lovely but maybe stood too long and a bit dry.Bar staff could have moved a bit faster! Hotel not exactly packed to the rafters.

The bar menu and service is very poor, how wrong can you do a simple pizza. The main came before the starters - with no explaination or apology until we questioned them. And the pizza was cold. However the restaurant menu is very good, but the service depends on the person.Heating is not good, for some reason in April the heating switches off, regardless of the temp' outside and if you ask for a fan heater you cannot have one ...Health & Safety!!!
