I have stayed here before and for the price, its a great hotel for downtown location and comfy beds. The hallways need updating (looked like Miami Vice!) and are a bit smelly. Housekeeping staff was great, as was the pub staff. For the price, I'd stay here again.

The staff at front desk were super awesome! The furniture/decor in room felt old and really worn out. Overall, the service at this hotel was exceptional! Our check in and conversation with front of house staff was so amazing. However, the room felt very old & dingy, the covers on the chairs were worn and dirty, wallpaper was peeling in places and overall there was an old-smell in the room. The bed was so hard and uncomfortable. Not a horrible stay, but certainly not worth.

Booked this hotel on their website, the site made it look great. Once in the room, the carpet was lifting throughout the room, wallpaper was peeling off the walls, the windows were so filthy you could hardly see out of them. Parking was deplorable, and there was a charge for parking in the attached parkade ($10.00/night). The TV was a crappy old 26", the enamel on the bathtub was peeling off. I've stayed in nicer value priced motels. Paid $* plus parking, plus tax, Over $*dollars and I would have had a nicer room in a $* motel Horrible rip off.

I selected this location because of it's proximity to several meetings I had in the area. Overall great experience; the entire hotel could use some updating though, great location, friendly staff. I had breakfast in the dining room, excellent view but food was definately over priced for what you got. Overal nice hotel and I would recommend it to anyone.

Fantastic location, view and simple elegant rooms. Difficult to access with public transportation.

We liked the classy look of the hotel and all its amenities. Parking is not that good but the daily charge is fair. The only problem is that the washroom fan wasn't working and that's not acceptable. There wasn't a small fridge provided although there was room for it. We asked for a small fridge at the reception desk and this lady said one would be brought up immediately. It never came. Otherwise our hotel experience was good. Loved the view of the city from our room. Loved the restaurants on site. We would stay again for sure.

Assigned non-smoking room was formerly smoking; unfortunately it still stank. Customer service was excellent though not effective for diminishing the smell. Otherwise the stay was fantastic; nice firm bed, cable, clean bathroom with good shower, nice view of the River Valley. Use the parking lot beneath the building for 8/day. Restaurant upstairs is overpriced but the view of the city is worth it. Convenient and safe location with nice staff; I highly recommend this place.

Comfortable and clean room, friendly staff. Fitness room cold, Cardio equipment was a little out dated. The hotel has a great location. Room was warm, comfortable and roomy. Staff was helpful and friendly.

The parking is horrific, if you get a cofort suite its not that nice, furniture is clearly old and our room was not that clean, but movie selection was amazing, very secure hotel and friendly service.

We loved the little extras at this hotel, sleep therapy kit etc., fitness centre was excellent I was surprised to find there wasn't a pool.

Free wireless internet. Bathroom not very clean and the rooms need better soundproofing. The staff was friendly and helpful. The downstairs restaurant's food was pretty good, but the service was horrible. The room was comfortable, however it was quite dated. My batroom should have been cleaner. Chips were flaking off the tub and the ceiling had a few cracks.

Close to Rexall centre. Old bathroom and tub. Good location and easy to find. Moderate hotel.

We loved the location. The revolving restaurant was great and the staff was all friendly and helpful. The hall on the floor we stayed on was a little long in the tooth. The rugs were stained and well worn. We believe that the hotel is undergoing upgrade. We were very pleased with this hotel . The location, revolving restaurant, staff and bed all exceeded our expectations.

It is right downtown allowing for quicker trips anywhere in the city. They charge customers for parking over and above the room rate at the end of their stay. The lobby is nice and clean, however the age of the hotel is apparent once you see the rooms (i.e. worn and soiled hallway carpets and old wooden doors with a 1 inch gap between the bottom of the door and the floor. I was also very annoyed when I received a bill for parking at the end of my stay for $9.00 a day that we were never told about. The high end restaurant also closes early if they are slower a result we missed out on two events that we wanted to go to as decided to try this restaurant.

Convenient to the metro; good views from the room. Grungy and old fashioned lobby and hallways. Not worth the money. Large roomy room, free coffee machine (actually decent coffee); free internet was a bonus (brought my own cable). Great location to LRT and restaurants. Downtown is kind of dead though.

Friendly staff. Room wasn't the cleanest. I liked the hotel very good service! And as well very friendly staff.

Nice view, close to mall, clean. The bed was very uncomfortable because it was so hard! Did not get much sleep. The hotel was beautiful and clean. It is close to the mall, good location. However the bed was really uncomfortable, so much so, we had sore backs the next day. We tossed and turned all night and could not get comfortable. Very tired in the morning. I was very disappointed and will not return again.

The city view was very impressive and the location was very convenient. The maintenance in the hotel was not very well done or up to date. The hotel overall is comfortable, the bed was excellent and in the end, a good sleep is the most important part for me. I did get the impression that the maintenance plan was following the old adage "if isn't broken, don't fix it." There were parts of the hotel that had been repaired, but the repaired part did not match with the rest of the decor. A creative renovation plan could easily make this hotel a 2.5 star to a 3+ star rating in my book.

The fitness room is great. Probably best hotel gym in the city. The decor of the rooms and the hotel in general is extremely outdated! The good: 1) The bed is comfortable and the sleep aid program with the CD and the lavender linen spray were nice touches. 2) A printed list of the TV channels. Simple yet helpful! 3) The fitness room has brand new equipment. Probably best hotel gym in the city. 4) Free wired/wireless internet. The bad: 1) The decor of the hotel and the rooms are extremely outdated. The decor just screams out "80s" in a bad way 2) Low grade toilet paper: can't believe a 3 star hotel would use such terrible toilet paper. Even mall public washrooms have better toilet paper! 3) Why are there plastic cups instead of actual glasses in the room?

Very helpful with every request. Nothing. The hotel staff was so very willing to assist with our requests and went out of their way to accommodate us. They had 3 huge weddings to look after and still, they were calm, friendly and fantastic! Would highly recommend Chateau Lacombe to friends!
