Truly horrible hotel, Please stay away. Front desk staff is the most voluntarly unhelpfull staff I have ever come across. Food is no good. Almost everybody on staff is unfriendly. Ridiculously high hidden charges on every single thing. They all come together to make your stay a nightmare!

Upon arrival I wasn't made aware of the parking charge - Valet staff were rude and chased us through the parking lot. Rooms are okay, the hotel is under constriction. Front desk staff very courteous and friendly especially Jason and Tamara. Buffet breakfast was great!

This is a very nice and clean hotel bit far from City but and awesome nice and clean rooms. The staff very friendly. The indoor pool great. The hotel has construction on sight. However the staff make the place the best in city compared to Town Down High End Hotels Thumps up Crowne Plaza.***** five star

I stayed at this hotel for 4 days and 3 nights in August 2008. There was major construction going on and had been for some time as I understand but I was not in any way affected by it. My stay was nice and quite and the hotel looks pretty nice inside and out besides the construction. If you are expecting extreme luxury like 4-5 stars dont bother. It was nice and comfortable and the lobby looks nice but you can tell it's not all star quality but as I said before it is nice. The staff very nice. They charge for every little thing ( such as local calls and 12 dollar mandatory valet per night) which is why I am not staying there next time but it was nice while I was there. Also room service is fast and friendly but food is only so so. I would stay there again if I needed to or couldnt find a place with free parking and local calls. Bed was very nice.

We went to the Ontario Science Center, great dining on the Danforth, etc. The Art Gallery of Ontario remodel is fabulous! Hotel staff does not go out of their way to 1)recommend dining other than the hotel, 2)make it easier to obtain bus/subway tokens, 3)does not act very friendly. Check your bill carefully, because I was charged for making an 800 call to their computer help desk twice (though I called only once). Also, they charged me the rack rate instead of the rate I reserved at for my additional night.

Hotel parking extra. Hotel should mention that parking is not included. It is about $13.50 per day for parking. It was very misleading. The parking fee is for visitors as well.

As of summer 2008, there is still a lot of construction. A high-rise condo and retirement center are planned for the same property. The entrance to the hotel changed 3 times while we were there. If you can get a room away from the construction, you should have a pleasant stay. Heavy work usually didn't begin until after 9AM. If you're driving, the hotel is about 15 minutes from downtown. Parking is valet only ($12 a day). The restaurant is quite good (but somewhat expensive).

Our hotel stay was a bit lacking for the cost. Housekeeping never came to our room until 3:00pm to clean. The valet service was very slow and often you were stuck in a line of cars waiting to exit the hotel. We got charged twice for a movie we rented once and when I brought it to the attention of the front desk, they said that they were unable to remove it from the bill. On a positive note, the pool and spa area were great, but overall it was not the best. Also, they were doing renovations to the floor in the lobby, and several people tripped on the loose or missing tiles.

First, there is a major construction project going on in front of the hotel. Parking is a nightmare & retrieving our car from the valet service took over 20 minutes. When we got to our room, there was plywood board over the sliding glass doors. At first, the front desk refused to give us another room citing a group taking up much of the rooms. Finally, they relented and gave us another room. The new room was fine, except that we couldn't open our sliding glass doors as they were locked. Beds were ok. The hotel advertises an indoor and outdoor pool, but the outdoor pool is now gone due to construction. Indoor pool is small with hardly anywhere to sit. In the stairwell leading to the pool, there was infestation of ants. Staff members seemed not to care. The highlight of our stay was the restaurant. The wait staff were excellent and very friendly. The food was really good! We especially enjoyed the Cesaer's salad and the baba ganoush (sp?). The location was convient for our needs as we were visiting extended family, but trying to get to the city by public transportation took quite a while. One has to take a bus then subway to get downtown. About a 40 minute journey. Overall, not the best experience. We were disappointed because we expected so much more from a Crowne Plaza.

This is a good hotel on the east. Pretty far from downtown. To stay in the hotel without car is uncomfortable.

Front line staff who are empowered to use their discretion and time to understand your specific needs. Entry is a bit difficult to locate. From the front desk clerk who immediately understood my needs and found exactly the right accommodation. Through the bellman who's comfort in my wishes to handle my own product samples made me feel at ease. Including the fellow who brought up my room service meal and saw I had a headache so he offered genuine empathy and asked if I needed further assistance. Right through to the woman who served breakfast and took a few extra moments to share a few things we had in common. In all these cases the staff where not only helpful but genuine. It speaks of a great manager who gives his people the freedom and authority to do their jobs right. The accommodations were all that you would expect for this class of hotel and far more than you would expect from the cost.
