1 Night in BirminghamPerfect & sensational value for money

Leaving. The dismal decor. The incompetent staff. The miserable dining room. The surrounding city. The room. Avoid it at all costs.

This hotel has recently had a major refurb and is very nicely finished.

The restaurant service was not professional - waiting for the food for 30 minutes.

Ideally situated for the City Centre, shopping or a nice stroll along the canal for a drink or something to eat. Within walking distance to the NIA.

Good value for money. Helpful staff. Very good central site yet quiet.

Nice room, good location. Construction all day long made it impossible to talk in the room and lobby. This hotel will be excellent in September when the construction is finished but right now it looks horrible, construction materials everywhere and horribly loud all day long. Literally impossible to carry on a conversation due to construction, hard to communicate with staff because of construction. Also because of the construction the water was cut off the first day I was there. The newly refurbished room was very nice but not enjoyable because of the noise. We were not informed that there would be this construction so it was an awful surprise.

I expected more from this hotel. I wasn't impressed with checking-in as I was kept waiting for around 20 minutes. The room was clean in general but there were unpleasant marks to be found in the bathroom and on the bed.

Great Value !Having seen this hotel advertised through my employers hotel booking system at £150 + and then finding it on laterooms at £65 I knew I was in for a treat !I arrived quite late but used the bar/restaurant and had a great set menu for £25 Check your bill before signing as we were charged a "service fee" but when queried it was removed. The room was large with 2 double beds and had everything you could need for a comfortable stay.Great location and great value....couldnt of been better

Location and concierge was quite helpful. Building under construction and a couple of the receptionists were rude. I'm sure the hotel will be a comfortable place to stay when the construction has completed. The location is great!

The staff were very helpful. A power cut on the first day meant we didn't have any hot water. Rooms very clean and the beds were huge.Would go again.

Two Rooms for Two NightsMy wife & I stayed here for our daughter's graduation. The car parking was handy - although £26 for 48 hours is maybe a bit expensive - and the hotel was well placed for going to restaurants in the Mailbox. The rooms were big enough and certainly clean. The bathrooms are well appointed with good showers. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast - the quantity and quality availble was excellent. We would recommend the hotel if booked at a competitive rate - we paid £65 per room per night [Sun & Mon] .which we felt was reasonable

Fairly large room. Dial-up internet access. This is definitely not a four star hotel. They are currently undergoing major renovations. I was warned about the construction noise and it sounded like they were drilling concrete in my room. On top of that I could not access the internet at the hotel. They only offer dial-up in the rooms and mine did not work. I called the front desk, but they did not have any ideas so they sent a maintenance person to assist me. Though he was very friendly he didn't know much about computers. I also tried wireless from my room, but it was a very weak signal and could not connect. The maintenance gentleman suggested that I could connect to wireless in the lobby. In the lobby the signal was no stronger than the room and I could still not connect. I ended up going to a cafe that offered wireless several blocks from the hotel.

Clean but most of the finishing quite worn. No internet connection in room, bad for business traveler. Friendly service but I will check unless there is internet connection.

Impressive re-furbThe hotel has been refurbished 6 months ago and looks amazing. Rooms very comfortable and stylish with clean lines. I didn't have to wait at the check-in desk. The staff were friendly and professional. Excellent location and very easy place to get a taxi back to.Good choice of food at breakfast, with good coffee. I made the mistake of asking for a de-caff coffee after my wonderful full strength one and got a plunger of dishwater delivered to the table.Only negative was when I rang to make use of the 'pillow menu' service they have where you can choose a different firmness or a feather pillow, reception took about 30rings to answer the phone and then sighed when I asked for the pillow and then it never arrived.

Internet access is severely limited. A beautiful hotel only a few blocks from the city centre of Birmingham. Not quite in the heart of the city, but not far either.
