Very pleasant staySpent 2 nights at at the Crown Hotel in order to visit the Great Yorkshire Show. My single room was large and very comfortable although the floorboards were a bit creaky but didn't bother me too much. Very clean and spacious. All the staff that I encountered were very pleasant and helpful. The hotel is very centrally located and within easy walking distance of the many pubs/restaurants in the area. There are two bars within the hotel which were nice although quite pricey....many other nice pubs close by though. Breakfast was excellent!! Plenty of choice, good food and attentive waiting staff. Overall, an excellent hotel and a very enjoyable stay. Would happily recommend this hotel to anyone considering a visit to Harrogate.

Experience at the Crown Hotel, HarrogateOur stay at the Crown Hotel was very good. The only thing I wish I had done was state that we would prefer to be near a lift but I will know this another time. Also, I asked how much the cost of our room would have been if we'd booked directly with the hotel and they said much the same so I don't know whether we actually got a good deal through Late Rooms or not. However, when in Harrogate I would certainly try to obtain accommodation at this hotel.

Good accomodation only drawback being a noisy machine which made a good early alarm however as the room was very quiet in evening and overnight we were not too bothered. Breakfast was excellent and staff pleasant and helpful

Happy customerVery pleased with the hotel, I felt I had a bargain, very clean, very comfy bed and a lovely ensuite. The hotel itself is very grand feeling and the bar area was very nice! I also had a very nice cooked brekkie the following morning, staff very helpful with car parking as the hotel car park was full by the time I got there. Would go again no doubt!

Lovely place - very centralIt was a pleasure to stay here. There were no problems. Great location. Top of our list if returning to this city.The parking arrangements could do with improving or organising better, but the space is understandable limited by the locality and the historic building, wall and road.

Had to be moved on the first night due to very noisy fan from the kitchen we were moved without any problem but then ended up in a room that backed onto wetherspoons beer garden which was also very noisy didnt get to sleep until 4.30am the hotel was very clean and the rooms were nice but i do feel if you do plan on staying here you need to remember to take your ear plugs.

Not a review but an unanswered email to the manager!I am writing to you after a stay at your Hotel on the 03.07.09 and 04.07.09. I wanted to write to say how unhappy I am after my stay. When we arrived on Friday we were given room 139 which was a beautiful room and one I know my partner was very happy about. Large and spacious and a lovely bathroom, unfortunately this room also had a large extractor pipe outside its window which was very noisy, even with the windows closed. Not ideal in this weather. I went to see reception and to their credit they did move us instantly to room 226. This room was not as grand, smaller in size but still a nice room. It did have a nicer view onto the town as well. The only downside to this was being on the front it was noisy again from another menace…teenagers!When I booked this trip it was for a surprise for my partner and also a chance to use the hotel as a base to visit nearby Ripley Castle.During our stay for the two nights the hotel was booked out for two school balls it seemed and had I known this I would defiantly not had made the reservation. I like to be able to sit in the bar and have a drink but for both nights this was packed with teenagers. The only bar on offer was The Place, (more of later!). Henrys bar was a much nice area and this was out of bounds due to the events. You could still sit in but it was full of the partys. To make matters worse the young people all congregated in the car park until the early hours (at least 1.30am) to smoke and chat. This was underneath the bedroom windows and to keep the noise down I had to close the windows. This was not great and also very annoying to say the least. This as I said was on two nights running. I know people did complain but nothing was done.On the 04.07.09 I wanted to go to Ripley Castle so after breakfast (I will congratulate the Hotel on this, it was excellent), we had a look around Harrogate then was going to the Castle in the afternoon. excellent location and a bit of historyIdeally located close to top restaurants and shops and sights. Lovely walks nearby in Valley Gardens. Excellent value for money. Room was a little small as was the bathroom, but we had asked for a quiet room and it was nice and quiet. Overall very enjoyable stay and excellent interiors in the hotel showing a little bit of history in the fabulous dining room and lobby area.

Enjoyable night out.Very nice hotel, well situated and clean, what more could you want for a one night stay.Breakfast was a little disappointing simply because they appear to try too hard to make it more special than it needs to be. Buttery scrambled egg?? sickly slimy and inedible and certainly not the \"healthy\" choice it ought to be. Oh, and the night bar man was a misrable sod to say the least.Don`t let my minor moans put you off, I`d recommend the Crown to all my friends without hesitation.

The hotel is centrally positioned and ideal for me as I was working at an exhibition at the hotel. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and the food was very good. The thing that lets the hotel down is the condition. The rooms, while reasonable in size, are fairly basic. The entertainment package in the rooms is also unnecessarily complicated and expensive - £5.99 for 1 hours internet connection or a special offer of £12.99 for internet, films, etc. Despite the criticism, I would stay again at the lower price.

Enjoyable stay at the hotel, very reasonable price and the breakfast selection was fab! Room did get very hot at night and the squeaky floorboards were annoying but it is an old hotel. We would definately stay again.

Centrally located quality hotelI paid 63 pounds for a standard double room, which was a few quid cheaper than the prices shown on the hotel's own website. The hotel looks very impressive and grand from the outside and this is followed through to the reception area. The bedroom was slightly above average compared to rooms in other hotels I have paid a similar price for. I especially liked the fact extra pillows were provided in the wardrobe for use if required (one is never enough for me!)The buffet style breakfast (choice of full English, continental, fresh fruit, cereal, yoghurts etc) was well worth getting up for and the room it is served in is lovely.Although parking at the hotel is limited and offered on a first come first served basis, we managed to get a space round the back of the hotel no problem and were given a permit by the receptionist. He even allowed us to leave the car there for a few hours whilst we shopped after checking out.The location of the hotel was perfect too - very near to a number of bars & restaurants (but not too close that they kept you awake at night) and the main shops were probably about a ten minute walk away.Overall, a pleasant experience and I have no bad words to say about it at all.

Crown Hotel HarrogateThe staff were very pleasant and very helpfull, the room was very clean and comfortable and the food was delicious. The location is perfect for the shops and local attractions. My friend and I will certainly go back.
