My Family and I stayed at this hotel Creekside Lands Inn. It was the most wonderful stay we had in a long time. The location is amazing with the fishing dock on the property. My kids were in the pool most of the time. Rooms were great, looks like they just put new carpets in the rooms. My wife spent a lot of time reading on the swings by the creek. It was a perfect vacation that we wanted to take for a long time.

When my fiance and I arrived at the hotel it was after 1 AM. We were greeted by a woman running the front desk. She unlocked the door for us and was very friendly and explained when the continental breakfast was offered in the morning. We then went to our room, exhausted after a 16 hour drive. The room itself looked satisfactory, however upon entering the bathroom and sink area, it was clearly not sanitary. The sink had pieces of hair all over it and the counter, as if a man had just shaved his face and left the hair there. I then went into the bathroom and noticed as I walked in, that the floor also had hair on it. When I shut the bathroom door I was appalled! There was a pair of womens underwear hanging from the hook on the back of the door! They were absolutely disgusting. To describe them to you would quite possibly make you sick to your stomach, but they did look as if they were stuck to the hook! My fiance called the front desk first thing in the morning to explain our findings and ask that when the housekeeper came to pay special attention to that area. Later that day we came back to change and found that the room had been cleaned and the nasty underwear removed. However, the next day we left our room at 10:45am. When we left I personally took the "DO NOT DISTURB" sign off of the door and placed it on our dresser. There was even a housekeeper standing in front of the door next to ours and she watched me remove it. Well when we returned around 6pm to change and shower, we found that our room hd not even been touched! The room was not cleaned, there was food in the tiny garbage cans still and we had no clean towels, to say the least. It clearly had not been entered by the housekeepers. My fiance, this time went to the front desk to ask what had happened and tell them we needed clean towels. The girl behind the desk began to argue with him and told him that we had our "DO NOT DISTURB" sign on the door ALL day! He even told her that the housekeeper was standing n

Lands Inn, Charleston, South Carolina smelled bad and after burning three sticks of incense the smell was back the very next morning. But worse than that there was a strange greasy substance smeared all over the ceramic tile floors in the bathroom and one step off the carpet toward the sink and I almost flew into the air and landed on my back. Normally you'd get 4 bath towels, but they only gave us two, one of which I had to use to try and mop up whatever the greasy substance was. It did no good, so I resorted to bringing the big, rough-textured welcome mat in from the front door and laid the towel over that so it wouldn't hurt our bare feet if we had to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. This is not a great place to stay. I wish it was, but I really don't recommend it.

Upon check in, the clerk was most gracious and pleasent. When my family and I got to the room, the first thing we noticed was the floors were damp in the bed room. The next thing was the bath room, it was not cleaned and sanitized. The bath tub was wet and still had hair in it, the bath room floor was wet and the toilet was not clean and a lot of water was behind the toilet. I did complain to the desk cleark and they did offer to have someone come and clean the area but by that time my family and I had settled and was getting ready for a wedding and I did not want anyone in the room with all of my personal belongings.

I stayed here long enough (for a hotel stay) to know that quite a few of you on this board are full of hot air. From day one, I was showered with warmth and friendliness. The staff was knowledgeable about the area and made me feel like home. The set up of this hotel is unlike any other. I travel for business and get tired of the same old "parking lot view" from my room. In addition, cleanliness was just as expected and I did not find any mold or mildew or any other creatures of that nature in my room. The dock/pier on location is very relaxing and unique to this hotel. Thumbs up to the new management for the amount of work they have put in improving this hotel!

We chose to stay in this hotel based upon other reviews on travel website; however, were very disappointed in the quality of the hotel. When checking in, the front desk barely acknowledged our presence and was rude. The room was musty, smelled of mildew, and very dated. The bathroom was not the cleanest- no tissues or hairdryer. The refrigerator and microwave in the room did not work and the TV had a bad reception/fuzzy picture. Also, all of the rooms have external doors with no double lock. Although this was not a bad area, I would have preferred a double lock just to be safe. Overall, I would not choose o stay here again- there are several other close hotels within the area which looked much better!

Avoid room 100. It might be next to the check-in office, but that makes no difference. It was a ramshackle room that was obviously put together to "create" another room for use. I use the word create in a sarcastic manner. The closet doors didn't close properly, there were four crappy wire hangers in there. The television had blown speakers and no alarm clock was in the room. The other rooms seemed alright for the price and I will give kudos to the staff for providing a small fridge in each room. The location isn't that bad considering it's on Highway 17 and this road leads directly into Charleston. They should never say that they offer a continental breakfast as this was the lowest quality one I've ever seen. The juices were horrible, obviously the cheapest, worst tasting stuff I've ever experienced. The night clerk/manager was not friendly at all when we arrived. Overall, she seemed very disinterested in helping us when we asked for recommendations to eat or where to visit. If you're not planning on comfort, then this place will work as it was inexpensive to stay in for a couple of nights. I still would not recommend this for anyone looking for amenities.

This hotel was a grate place to stay. We travel all over the us and have seen our share of hotels trust me. This place was on a creekside -marsh. with a wonder view.I felt very safe it is very well lite up in the parking lot. My husband does most of the driving so he slept as i walked around and sat on the fishing dock and had coffee, The fish were jumping out of the water. The wild life i saw was something else. The hotel had workers there the last part of the week putting up plantaion shutters. The whole staff was very friendly and helpful. Being in new place you never know where to eat or what sights to see. It was so peaceful. We enjoyed it a lot and will always stay here when we have to travel though Charleston...

My family and I have stayed at Lands Inn many time and have seen it. On its bad and good many times. Last year when we stayed, It was a awful experience, There were many problems with the room, And the staff did not try and resolve any of the problem, The lobby smelled like wet dog that should have been our first hint, But again we have stayed before, We had a reservation and was not able to be released from it and would have been charged, So we stayed one night, Then went else where, This year we called to make a reservation with a coupon and was told it was a walk in coupon, We took our chances and did that we asked to see the room first, The young lady at the desk explained the rooms on the second level were in better shape then the one's on the bottom floor. We looked at both the rooms on bottom floor are more used, Needs work , but were clean, The second floor room was nice and clean, The tv had a issue it was not clear, xxxx at the front desk called the maintenance guy and he came with in ten minutes to take care of it. Our family took advantage of the grill and picnic table, Cooking out saves money for other things.. The hotel has changed hands and we see they are making many changes, Our family will be back next year to see what all has been done. The rates are fair and the staff is very friendly and the hotel is clean.

this is on the west side as you approach Charleston so anything you do you have to travel for. Supposedly just changed hands & new owners plan to update. A/C works & they have a pool that looked nice but the overall thought is please fix me up. Staff was nice moved me when 1st rooms TV wasn't working but everything is dated. Bedspread was probably old when Jackie Gleason was on TV. If in a pinch it'll do, but you'll look longingly at the other motels while going to find something to eat.

The location was okay. The pool was nice and the pier to the water was beautiful. The room could have been cleaner. If you want to just have a place to sleep. I would say this is the place.

"Room was disappointing w/unpleasant odor. Furnishings badly worn and not clean. Wasn't too bad after I cleaned sanitized the room. Two of three days there were no bath towels so we were given hand towels instead. During stay they installed a fence around the pool, seem to be making an effort but rooms should come first. Nothing else available in Charleston area and cancellations are not possible when paying directly through Travel website so we couldnt go elsewhere. They are trying to make progress but they need to rearrange their priorities."

It was nice to have the dock to go out and sit at and see the water and just relax. The Motel has new owners and they are doing a lot of changes we will see the next time we go to Charleston SC
