Early check-in sped me on my way to the beach (2pm; posted check-in time is no earlier than 3pm). Desk people were very nice but uninformed about paying in advance through Orbitz (no problems here). First floor common areas are spacious, immaculately clean, and friendly staff actually hanging around to help. There's a real courtyard at Courtyard by Mariott, and it was well-maintained. Exercise room, small pool, and small whirlpool were good quality. Rooms were pristine, well-appointed, and clean bathrooms. Terrific study table and good-quality sitting chair were included. Will stay again soon! Complimentary cooked breakfast exceeded my expectations. Outstanding!

We were visiting Belmar Beach for a weekend pro volleyball tournament and were looking for an overnight stay that was clean and convenient to the beach. Our usual spot was booked up. Thank goodness, as the Monmouth Shores Courtyard is a huge step up for less money. We kind of fell into this one. Rooms are small - we needed a pullout sofa for our teenager and thought it would be in an ajoining room, but they've managed to jam a sofa, armoire, desk and king size bed into a very small bedroom. However, everything was comfortable, clean, and very modern. The granite bathroom with very large vanity and clean large shower was a nice surprise. The only real glitch was at checkin. There were lots of large parties (a wedding, teen soccer tournament) staying there and they gave our reserved room away (I had booked a king room with jacuzzi tub and sofabed several months in advance) because of another party's room dispute. Hmmm. They first gave us a jacuzzi room with no sofa. I was then told the chair pulled out into a bed - nope. Then finally back again at the desk we were given a room with sofa, no jacuzzi, next to the elevators. Turned out not to be a big deal - quiet all night. The rate was appropriately reduced. Desk staff was fine, but not overly apologetic. Breakfast in the morning was very good. The lobby is very nice and modern - free papers and coffee in the attractive bar area with flat screen tv and large comfy couches. The indoor pool looks nice, as does the well equipped workout facility. Didn't have time for either. We'll definitely stay again next year!!

We could not afford a B&B in Avon by the Sea this year, this hotel fit our budget and was a conveniently located accommodation near the beach. The room was clean and quiet with a comfortable king size bed. A complimentary breakfast of fresh eggs,fruit and cereals was an added bonus!

I made last minute reservations here. I got a great price from Orbitz. (20% off) The staff was very friendly. The lobby and over all interior were very clean. I was told there were two weddings that weekend. You never would have known, it was so quiet on our floor. The Bed was comfortable, I slept like a baby.. Breakfast was a little expensive, However the service at breakfast was excellent.
