Date of Stay:

Very close to Midway Airport. Would have enjoyed continental breakfast offered by hotels.

March, 2009
Very comfortable and clean room; the staff was friendly and helpful; didn't have a chance to use the pool or fitness room, but they looked nice; restaurant attached to the hotel provided room service but did not provide menus in the room, so we had to go down to the restaurant to get one (defeated the purpose a bit); shuttle service was very convenient and reliable;

We stayed at this Courtyard Marriott for a family funeral. The hotel is located just a few blocks from Midway Hotel, which was convenient for us as our family lives on the Southside. The service was excellent, the staff was friendly. Even though the hotel was full to the gills, we were able to get to our rooms without any problems. We especially liked the fact that we were able to get adjoing rooms since we were traveling with our children. We travel a lot and were surprised to find out that the buffet was not complimentary. The food was excellent and we didn't mind paying for it, but it would have been nice to know that it was extra at check-in. The other challenge was parking. This hotel is in a complex with at least three other hotels. Parking was 10 a night, which is cheap by Chicago standards, but we had to park in back of the hotel. The parking lot was not particulary well-lit, but there is a clever gate system that allows guests to enter through a secured gate at the rear of the hotel with their room key.Overall we really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were nice, we heard very little noise from Midway Airport, there is a shuttle that goes to Midway and the El (train system) and the breakfast buffet is excellent.

Nice Hotel. Sadly though, the staff is incompetent and lazy.

Overall, this is a good hotel. The room was very clean and well kept-up. We have also stayed at the Hampton Inn Midway in the same plaza, and found this to be a pretty comparable hotel. My only complaints were these: I would have liked something a little more substantial for a blanket on the bed (I try to avoid turning on the heat in hotel rooms because they are always so dry already, but the bedding wasn't heavy enough for this in November), and I found it somewhat tacky that a big bottle of water was left on the table with a tag basically saying "feel free to drink this, then we'll add 3 to your bill". If the water isn't free, don't leave a bottle of it in my room. I would prefer to go to a vending machine. We didn't drink the water, and it just sat in the room. Insignificant, I suppose, but I just found it kind of tacky and irksome. The toilet could stand to flush a little quieter, too -- it's startlingly loud, especially in the middle of the night. Other than that, these were very acceptable accomodations. We would be willng to stay here again.

Courteous staff. They charged $10/ night for parking on an open lot that was empty. Well constructed, clean hotel. Good internet capabilities.

stayed here one night while waiting to get into my downtown hotel after the housing board had bollixed up my reservation. There were a few housekeeping details that needed attention (nothing major or security related) that i brought to attention of desk staff. Desk staff were very courteous & helpful (much more so than the more expensive hilton i wound up transferring to. Shuttle operated very efficiently and driver was willing to take me to the subway entrance which was very helpful. This hotel isn't close to much other than the airport (very convenient there, however) but you can take subway into town quickly & easily.

This was my very first time in Chicago and I am ready to go back already. The service was very polite, courteous, professional and friendly. As a travel agent I would definitely recommend this hotel to my clients. Say hello to xxx...

Good location, very comfortable bed, spacious room and friendly staff. $10.00 parking fee for an open parking lot that was connected to other hotels. This was a good hotel, with spacious rooms, friendly staff and connects to TGIF restaurant.

Easy to find, convenient, quiet. Neighborhood is commercial and downscale.

Staff was very friendly and attentive. Location would be better for business than leisure travel. Hotel was well appointed, with attentive staff and good amenities. Breakfast was very good. The only reason I would not visit this hotel again for leisure was the location. It was a good location for overnight business travel, Midway airport was close, but not for vacationing with kids. The surrounding neighborhood did not have much to offer.

Convenient. No breakfast place, that was reasonable. It was fine for what I used it for. The workout room was not private at all.

It was located close to the airport as I had a very early flight out the next day. Bed was comfortable and room very clean. I was there for just the night and unable to spend much time using all the offers of the hotel.

I liked that there was a restaurant attached to it. The hotel room was very unattractive. The bed was comfortable but the heater was broken and I ended up freezing the first night. They switched me to the room next door and the heater was working in there but it was missing the couch that the previous room had.

Convenient to Midway, Orange line to Loop, Quiet. Toilet didn't work in the first room I was in. Bathroom was not clean.
