Hotel acceptable if location important. Offering nice breakfast buffet, but absence of a full time coffee shop forces guests to go out into town looking for food in the afternoon and evening. The room was comfortable but bathroom and furniture could use upgrading to reach the level generally expected from a hotel carrying the Marriott name.
Date of Stay:
March, 2009
Convenient location, internet access in the room, inexpensive parking. No fridge or bar in the room. The room did not have a safe. Very convenient, courteous staff, very clean.

We chose this hotel because of its proximity to the PATH station. We have family in Hoboken but their place is too small for all of us, therefore we need to stay in a hotel when we visit. We can take the Hoboken PATH directly to the Newport Pavonia Station and the hotel is literally right outside the PATH station door so this is very convenient. I like the breakfast restaurant. This was our third stay in Jersey City and we have now found the place we will use on a regular basis for this trip. By the way, this is also a great place to stay if you want to go to NYC, the PATH can take you right to 33rd Street (Macy's) or the World Trade Center stop, then you can just transfer to the NY subway system as necessary. It's not too much trouble for all the money you will save by not staying in the City.

Adjacent to path Station. Excellent Location adjacent to Pavonia / Newport path station for easy access to NYC. Directly across from Mall. Several good restaurants nearby. Located in very safe neighborhood. Onsite parking is reasonable too for proximity to city and PATH.

The room was great. Only complaint is the bathroom needed updating and could have been cleaner. Hotel is in an excellent location with the Path station right next door. Just jump on the Path for a minimal cost and you are in Manhattan in about 15 minutes. Also right across from the hotel is a 3-story mall. Overall we enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Excellent location without the Manhattan hotel prices.

Next to to Path train station! Parking signage is very poor. Terrific hotel for the money. Right next door to the PATH station to Manhattan. Across the street from Newport Place - shopping and Jersey City business district. Parking is pricey, but not bad for NYC area. Valet parking only at the hotel, but there is a garage across the street for quick in and out. After waiting 10 minutes for a valet attendant, I parked it myself across the street.

Good location, close to the New Jersy path train. Easy access to NY. Shopping mall is just around the corner. Easy access to New jersey Light rail. The hotel is alittle pricey.

Comfortable and clean. Valet parking only at $14 night. This is convenient to lower Manhattan without paying Manhattan prices. It's located near a mall and other small eateries. Easy to reach from New Jersey or lower Manhattan.

It is comfortable and very good value for NYC. Close to the city by way of path.

Right next to Path station. 15$ valet parking - took too long. Nice hotel, quick check-in and check-out. Even though there was a slot for the room card at the front door for people coming in after 11 pm, we got back one night past midnight and the doors just opened as usual. The valet parking is really annoying. You have to leave your car and key with the guy, and when you want your car back, you have to call reception 30 minutes before the time you want it. Comfortable room, but no mini-fridge or microwave. Rather old air conditioning system.

Convenient access to NYC and safe walkway along Hudson River. View of NYC and Hudson blocked by parking garage. Easy access to Ellis Island, NYC on path train with terminal next door. Safe walkways along Hudson River are a block away. Upscale area with nice restaurants. Cheaper than staying in NYC. Staff was friendly and accommodated our request to use table in closed restaurant to play cards.

Modern, clean, with comfortable rooms. Next to Path station. It takes a while to get to Jersey City from Manhattan.

The room was very nice, close to NYC location at half the price of a new York hotel. For New Jersey it could have been a bit less expensive, just a bit. A friend suggestion, and even helped me get a room on very short notice for my wife and myself. He even let us use his computer and being from New York (now living in Florida) he suggested a good area close but outside of NYC itself. He helped us choose the location and the hotel. This was a bit of a disappointment but we were so tired from our drive from Florida that it did not make too much of a difference this trip because it was only for a single night. All in all is was a very nice hotel and a pleasant, clean, place as well. We would return and hopefully get a king-size bed as we reserved next time.

I loved the convenience of it being near the path train and across from Newport mall. The hotel was clean and the staff was helpful. I would stay again.

The free good coffee! Had to request for towels twice. Housekeeping forgot to leave them. Overall, this hotel was very comfortable and nice. They let me check in 3 hours early. Staff was friendly and helpful.
