This is our second time staying at the Courtyard Marriott this year. We are always welcomed, always treated nicely. We are greatly fond of the lady who works in the buffet section. She has a smile for everyone, she remembered my grand son Tyler from our stay in Feb. 09. I hope the transit system will bring more people to your hotel. I choose this one because you are close to the water, museums, for us the court house is in walking distance, We truly found peace of mind at this place. Thank you for letting us check in early.

Location. Hard to find. Nice stay, staff pleasant, clean modern rooms. Good stay.

We've stayed here several times and are never disappointed. The hotel is conveniently located close to everything in town, most within walking distance. The fireplace in the bar/lobby area was a welcome addition to a chilly day. With a daughter living in downtown Norfolk we will be staying here again. We have tried others but they don't come close!

This place do not represent Courtyard by Marriot which I am a huge fan of. Im use to a couteous staff and nice rooms with comfortable beds and great bedding. A rude front desk checked me in and finally when I got to my room the curtains that looked like Freddy Kruegger had a fight with them so I went back to the rude front desk and she had the nerve to ask me "So you want to go to another room?" Parking is $18 a night which is ridiculous when you pay what we pay for the room. The rooms (the first one and the second one) had a smell of urine. The bed were uncomfortable and the bedding was terrible. At Courtyard, Im use to nice down comforters and pillows. These were the regular time-to-throw out foam pillows. The sheets were rough. This entire stay was a disaster. This was my first time at this courtyard and I will NEVER go there again. I advise you to go to Residence Inn by Marriott thats in the immediate area. If this was my first time at a Courtyard by Marriot I would have never went to another one!

Easy on and off the highways. The parking was too expensive.

We read with trepidation the reviews of other name hotels in Norfolk, but were very pleased with the Courtyard. We had a corner room which was quite large, with an extraordinarily comfortable bed with all appointments recently redone, including lovely bedding. Clean room, helpful staff, whole hotel nonsmoking; we will return to this one (kid in college close by).

it was nice hotel in and out. Recommend parking on the street instead of valet. Everything was great except the bed sheets, they felt like sandpaper.

It was in a good location. The room was small.

This was one of the friendliest hotels I have ever stayed in. Small enough to get to know the people at the front desk. My check in was smooth (5 minutes max.) and shortly after I got to my room the front desk called and asked if everything was OK or if I had any questions. I did have a few questions and they answered them. I thought it was a nice touch that they bother to call you.The location was wonderful. The MacArthur Memorial is right next door and it is quite a treat. Also nearby is the MacArthur shopping mall with some terrific restaurants. I think we ate there every night. It's a short walk to Waterside Park and the Scope Center. I highly recommend it.

The pool was convenient and it was quiet. The neighborhood seemed unwelcoming. The people were really pleasant.

Convenient location. Had to pay $18 a night for parking or find on the street parking in a not so great neighborhood. Everything was OK here, except for parking and that there was so many door banging in the hallway all night long. That made it really hard to sleep. The room was clean but was really small and crammed. Not what I would expect from a 3 star hotel. Also breakfast was not included as it often is in so many others of these type of Marriott's. Would hope to find another hotel in the area next time.

Convenience to downtown Norfolk. Clean, convenient, and friendly staff.

I liked that it was a quality hotel with a tucked-away feeling but was in the middle of downtown. Had a fireplace! The pool area was nicely done but was too isolated for me. I would have liked a little more employee presence. Overall I enjoyed my stay at this hotel and would definitely stay there again. It was also close to restaurants and a shopping area. My daughter and I shopped at Dillard's which was only 2-3 blocks away. We walked although the parking area for the hotel was conveniently located.

Free cookies and helpful front desk manager. Had to pay for valet parking. The room exceeded my expectations for a downtown hotel. Very clean and the surrounding area felt safe. The staff was all very friendly and helpful.

I liked the free computer station in the beautiful lobby by the fireplace. The location was a little off the main downtown and felt a little sketchy at night, but was well lit. The staff were very friendly and the lobby was very nice and cozy. Although, the room was not very large, it was well laid out.

For me it was the fitness room, I liked the quality of the hotel. Fried eggs cooked too long (not really an issue). This hotel met my expectations, I would recommend it to all who would listen.

Ihad to wait 10 minutes and ask the front desk twice for valet for $18 a not for valet parking,I would expect some sort of service. The valet looked like and acted like a punk gang member. He dressed awful with nothing to identify him as a hotel associate, he spoke like a hood and had no manners of a valet, didn't open the car door for a least the lady, nor did he put the bag in the car. A truly terrible valet. The guy who checked in the car wasn't any better.

The staff was friendly and helpful. You have to pay to park at this hotel. This hotel has very comfortable beds. During our one night stay it was quiet, and I was pleased with the experience. Room service was prompt, friendly and the food was excellent.

In-room jacuzzi, close to macarthur mall. Lunch unavailable in hotel. My wife andI stayed here to see cirque du soliel, and the room was great, we were walking distance from the granby clubs area, nauticus, waterside, and the scope (go through the mall). The valet is easy and costs $18, which is what we did, or try your luck on the street.

They charge $18 per night for valet parking, If you don't want to participate, you have to park on the street and pay the meter. The hotel was nice and the staff was friendly. It is within walking distance to several bars and restaurants on Granby St.
