The service, staff, and very, very, very clean rooms beat out many Hilton's that we have stayed in. As a matter of fact they could take a few tips from these guy's

The air conditioning worked well. The only mirror is in the bathroom. The hotel is quite decent. We didn't have enough towels the first day, but that got corrected. The lack two mirrors makes it hard to for 2 people to get ready at the same time. Close to shopping, convenient to downtown, Lexington, aquarium, etc. I would stay again.

Rooms were one of the nicest I have stayed in in awhile...clean, didn't smell, very nice. I especially liked the flat-screen TV. The morning breakfast was warm and plentiful, if you didn't mind waiting as they had only one person working the buffet, and he worked his butt off for alot of demanding people, but never complained and always went out of his way drop what he was doing and help said demanding people. Kudos to the wait staff of one! There are only four rooms with balconies...we wern't asked if we wanted one, just assumed they all had them...this was an issue as we smoke, and it would have been nice to step out on the balcony vs. going down the hall or aout to the gazebo. Area was centrally located between all the attractions...within 20 minutes of Corpus Christie Marina, South Padre and Mustage Island. Definately recommend...a little pricey, but compared to some of the cheaper hotels...well...you get what you pay for, so worth the extra $'s

This is one of the newer facilities (they were still completing it as of Aug 08) in the Corpus Christi area that is unfortunately, badly managed and is not what I expected from the Marriott name. After difficulties finding our reservation, the evening manager gave us the cards to our room. Only, when we walked up to it did we discover that it was a handicapped room. While this is not normally an issue, as we were traveling with a toddler, it presented several diffulculties with both the bathing facilities as well as the lack of storage space. I expressed this to the manager on duty and he simply grunted and said that he had no other rooms - even though we called in externally and verified room availability. Flat out, the manager lied to us and didn't want to go the extra mile to accomodate us. There was apparantly a shortage of maids, we had to wait until after 5pm to have a maid tend to our rooms. The abandoned building immediately next to the facility has gang related tagging - I felt compelled to park under a light. Definitely won't stay here again.

My husband and almost 4 yr old daughter stayed in this hotel for 3 nights during our vacation to Corpus Christi. The room was really nice. We stayed in a King bedroom with a sofa bed. We pulled out the sofa bed for our daughter to sleep on and it was great. When we got there we didn't have linens for the sofa bed so I called down to the front desk and within a few minutes they brought them up to us quickly along with 2 extra pillows. The only thing we had trouble with was getting towels the second day, but it was because of the holiday weekend and they were super busy. Still we got our towels before needing them and all was good. We really liked that this hotel was right behind the Cracker Barrel resturant we ate breakfast there 2 days. We didn't try the hotel's buffet breakfast since we had to pay for it. It was also about a 20 minute drive to Mustang Island where we went to enjoy the beach.

I thought is was very nice, clean and location was good. Someone upstairs was very loud and sounded like they were going to come through the ceiling. I really liked this hotel and will stay there again. Will request the top floor.

This hotel is great. It is very clean and up-to-date. It is a no smoking hotel so the rooms smell clean and fresh, not musty. The staff is polite but they do not give very good driving directions to local attractions. The pool and hot tub area was clean and spacious. The bed was SO comfortable I didn't want to get up in the morning. There is a big tv which swivels to be seen from the bed or the loveseat. The hotel was pretty quiet until morning when everyone was getting up to leave for the day, slamming doors and taking showers. The shampoo & condition bottles are tiny, so if you have long hair, ask for extra before you get in the shower.

This was a very nice hotel! Seemed pretty new. We had made last minute reservations to take our son to watch the firework display and all other hotels were sold out, we were very lucky to have found this hotel, and the price was extremely reasonable considering that others were asking almost $300 a night due to the 4th of July weekend. We had some trouble locating the hotel, but the person that we called and spoke to was very courteous in assisting us find our way to the hotel. Once there, we were upgraded to an executive suite, "for our troubles", very nice!! Too bad, we did not have more than just the 3 of us! We enjoyed our time, were able to go swimming the next morning, and were able to keep cookies and milk cold in the refrigerator! Really nice experience, the shower was wonderful, felt like a massage! We will definitely return again!

I liked the plasma screen TVs. The breakfast! It was not free and the waiting staff was lacking the needed help. Decent hotel! I wouldn't consider it a 3-star, more of a 2 or 2 1/2 star. The room space was OK, but there was not a fridge or microwave. The breakfast was not free, and the waiting staff/breakfast area was very unorganized.

This was a great hotel. It is somewhat off the beaten path, but had easy access to the freeway that made getting around town a breeze. The hotel seems to have been recently updated. The rooms were quite large and comfortable and nicely appointed. The service and staff we top notch and they are adding a full service bar in the loby. All in all and great experience.

The king size bed. Location. We were not pleased with the location of this hotel as it was too far from the beach. Also, when we arrived (at 2:20) the desk clerk said no rooms were available yet and that check-in wasn't until 3:00. As we sat and waited, at least seven other parties came in and immediately got room assignments. We finally, after waiting twenty minutes, had to ask about the room and the clerk gave us a room. She knew rooms were available and yet gave others rooms while we waited. We heard someone ask for a fridge for their room and they got one. We also asked for a fridge was told there were none available. We felt we were treated this way intentionally because we were Priceline customers and did not pay full price for the room. Although the room was supposed to be nonsmoking, it smelled strongly of cigarette odor. For a Marriott hotel, this one was substandard.

When we told the gracious and friendly manager that we were attending a teacher convention, he told us he was a coach and teacher himself at a Christian school. We needed directions to the convention center; he immediately offered to do a mapquest and print them out for us. Every employee greeted us with a good morning or other appropriate greeting. The helpers in the breakfast area went out of their way to quickly provide more coffee or cream. Again, they were friendly. The eating area was clean and attractive. When our toilet stopped up in the middle of the night, they later (about 4:30 when I awoke) gave us another room to use just down the hall.

The lack of concern of the staff. My family was very disappointed with this hotel. We had high expectations because of the star. We, my husband and I and our 2 children (both under the age of 3) arrived to check in at the stated time, 3:00 pm. We were told that due to being booked for the last couple of nights our room was not ready. The staff member at the front desk was nice, said that it would take about 30-45 minutes for our room to be ready and we could get a late lunch/early dinner while we waited. So we did just that, even though we had just come from the beach and wanted to get cleaned up. Around 5:30 we came back expecting that surely 2 1/2 hours later our room would be ready. Another staff member was at the desk by then and when my husband attempted to check in, he was told there were no rooms ready for us to check into. My husband informed him that we were told the same thing over two hours ago and asked why we even bothered making a reservation if it couldn't be honored. The staff member basically ignored the comment and told him there were no rooms ready and we just had to wait longer. Understandably, I was very frustrated since we were tired and just wanted into the room we were expecting to have at 3 pm. that day. Finally, by 6 pm. another staff member came to the front desk and informed us that our room was ready apologizing for the wait. I understand that sometimes things happen. But the fact that after waiting for over two hours we barely got one apology and no attempt to make up for the huge inconvenience was a great disappointment. We expected more from the name Marriott and high star rating. If it was our mistake checking out later than the designated time they wouldn't have hesitated to charge us. However, because of their mistake there was no offer for compensation or concern.

The staff was very friendly. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. The location was great, the mall was only two streets away. Great price for a great hotel. We arrived a bit early and they gave us a room right away.

Swimming pools was open. Maid service was late in the day and we had to ask for towels. Weekday staff was very friendly. Weekend staff needs to work more with Weekday staff on friendliness. The maids always cleaned the rooms real late in the day and twice they left us no towels in the room. One time they didn't come until after 6 pm. Not what I would expect from a Marriott. Especially going to the bathroom and not having any towels to dry your hands off with. Also, wireless was down and we had to go buy an ethernet cable so that we could do work because the hotel didn't have enough for everyone. Nice hotel but service needs to improve. They also don't have refrigerators in the room although the rooms are set up to have one.

I would stay here again. The staff was very professional, food was great, and a centralized location with easy access to downtown Corpus as well as the beaches.
