Perfect downtown location, within walking distance of everything I wanted, including easy access to public transportation. The staff, especially the doormen, were super friendly and helpful. Actually, all the people in Portland are that way! I'd go back in a minute and do the whole trip again, but stay longer the next time.

Brand new hotel, so it was very clean. Located within walking distance of the Oregon Brewer's Festival, so that worked perfectly. Nearby all the best restaurants and bars (Mothers, Ruth Chris, Kelle's). Valet was great.

This was a Courtyard Marriott in downtown Portland. The location was perfect. We walked to all restaurants as well as Powell's Bookstore. The free tram was easy to find and delivered us to the library, art museum and Portland State College. The service was excellent. All staff were knowledgeable, polite and helpful. We arrived early - at 11:00 a.m., but they were able to get us into a room right away! The hotel is practically new - so it is clean and in excellent shape. We did take cabs to the Japanese Gardens and the Portland Museum of Science and Industry. Fairs were affordable. We'd definitely return to this hotel.

Hotel is new (opened late May, 2009) and all amnities are modern and clean. Everything operates well. Late model TVs in rooms. Comfortable beds with more pillows than you'll ever need. Internet is both wired and wireless. Only problem was with Internet service (they are a customer of iBahn) when staying for more than one day. Management has been alerted to the problem and promises to have it fixed soon.

We chose this hotel for it's downtown location and economy price. The Bed was comfortable, unfortunately the room had a strong unpleasant new carpeting adhesive smell and the window did not open. No fan in the bathroom, and the fan in the room did nothing. We were also disappointed in the $30 overnight parking option, overpriced menu, and the lack of an in room coffee pot. Luckily we didn't spend much time in the room and wont be returning.

Awesome location downtown Portland. Had no idea it was a new location until we arrived. The only website I could locate this hotel on was Orbitz. Staff, especially the door men, [...] in particular, were so helpful, very refreshing.

04JUL2009-Hotel opened six weeks ago and hasn't quite ironed out all the details yet. No hotel services directory in room. Short staffed on a holiday weekend. Great rate and very friendly staff plus an ideal location right in downtown made for a great long holiday weekend.

When we checked in the clerk was futzing with her computer, finally acknowledged us saying she'd be with us in a bit, continued futzing with her computer then...TOOK A PHONE CALL! Too busy to help us, but willingly looked all over for some other employee (who was parking cars) for the caller. Grrrr. The room was not as described. It was described as 465 sq ft with a couch. Neither was true. There was no book in the room describing hotel services or local attractions. The refrigerator sounded like a tank when it was on. We were seated at a table in the restaurant then promptly forgotten. All the diners around us seemed to be getting reasonable service, but we never did find out who our waiter was. We finally asked for coffee from another server, ordered from someone who was not dressed like the other servers, then left without getting our food when diners who had arrived after us were being served. All in all, a hugely disappointing experience for a Marriott.

Hotel was brand new and is in walking distance to tram station (5 short blocks) - important if you take the tram from Airport and have only carry-on. OW ticket from Airport to down-town $2.20 (Seniors $0.95) Hotel has a pleasant Diner on street level.

Great place to stay right in the downtown area of Portland. Close to almost everything that's fun. The Hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They gave great tips on places to visit while staying at the hotel. If there was something special that I wanted, the staff was more then accommodating to find it for me. I asked one of the valets where a good pizza place was and after giving us he ran three blocks to find my spouse and I just to let us know that he was off by one street and wanted to ensure we made it to our destination

small problem turned into a very nice situation, checked in late, tv wasn't working, told the staff I didn't care but they came to the room immediately and asked if I would please accept their apologies and could they upgrade my room. super nice people, connection w/ the restaurant next door was good also, excellent breakfasts!

Close walking distance to many places to eat and shop. Brand new hotel built in May 2009 and it's a green hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Hotel is super-hip styling (marriott finally figured it out) and is only 3 weeks open. Great central location and smart feel. Great in-house restaurant (The Original).
