One of the nicest motels I have ever stayed in. I have paid far more (including at some so-called "luxury" hotels) for far less. The never-empty cookie jar at the desk was a great plus. The only bad thing I can think of is they have feather pillows, which I am allergic to, but they did find me one non-feather pillow. They should stock more of the non-feather variety as I am sure that I am not the only one with this allergy.

Location. The people were friendly and the location was great. The room was really disappointing. I probably would not stay there again.

The hotel was good. They offered a shared PC in the common area, good for quick checkup on e-mail and stuff. They offered a shuttle, so I actually did not even rent a car for my snow skiing vacation. There are a few good resturants -- chain and local -- in the area.

Very good. the rooms were comfortable, the staff was friendly, the free breakfast had a very nice selection. You felt "at home".

Clean, comfortable, pleasant; comfortable bed. I love the fact that they always have a cookie jar filled with the best soft and chewy cookies I ever had! Delicious free breakfast bar; what a treat that was every morning.

Friendly staff, cofortable basic rooms and excellent breakfast offering. Hotel is convenient because it is close to a major north/south freeway and is centrally located in terms of the greater Salt Lake City area. There are several chain restaurants nearby, some in walking distance.

Country Inn & Suites By Carlson West Valley City, West Valley City, Utah, was a very comfortable place to stay!!! There were so many options for dining in the general area of the hotel. There was also a movie theatre close by!! Only a block or two away from a mall and a few other shopping stores!!! The rooms where nice, the hotel staff was great and there continental breakfast was very good!!! There was plenty of room for everything you need in a room when you are traveling!!!

Location was perfect and staff very friendly and helpful. Nothing is was all very pleasent. The rooms clean, the public area clean and very comfortable, the staff friendly and helpful (asking questions to see if there was anything they could do to make your stay pleasant. For example then asked what brought us there and we said sporting event and skiing. The breakfast was OK. The breakfast was what one would expect for a hotel with out a restaurant. I would stay there again.

When we go to Salt Lake we generally stay in Sandy. Since we would be going to Miller Motorsports park (for a race) we decided to stay closer to Tooele. Staff was very helpful, rooms were clean, beds were comfortable and motel was within walking distance to Cracker Barrel!

The Country Inn and Suites in West Valley, UT is very convenient to the SLC airport and to local restaurants. There are at least 4 national chain restaurants in walking distance. The hotel had nice rooms, a decent breakfast, and was clean and comfortable. We had no chance to go to the indoor pool

I got two keys without asking. Dirty floors, small room. I would like to visit a hotel where the staff speak English, this is America. Our room was small and dirty for a 2.5 star rating.

Great location and withing walking distance of many attractions and restaurants. People and ammenities were both fantastic. Will definately be the only place we stay when we travel to Salt Lake City!

It did have a king size bed which many don't. They had no extra blankets or sheets when we needed them when it got cold. It was ok, but not really clean and maid service was slow and spotty. On the phone they were not helpful at all, wouldn't even guarantee a non smoking room, they were better in person. It got cold while we were there and they had no extra blankets for either bed. It was so .

The motel was clean and the people were helpful and friendly. We will stay here again

Location. Dirty. Dirty, unable to connect to the outdated wireless service, food was poor, bed very uncomfortable. Too many lousy 2-star hotels and not enough higher-end hotels participating.

Good staff. Way over priced, shoddy construction, lousy! The room was so poorly built that I could here the gravel crush under the tires as the cars drove down the road as well as the conversations of people two blocks from the hotel. The heating unit in the room sounded like a semi truck on idle and fortunately drowned out the noise from outside of the room. The hot and cold water controls on the shower were nearly impossible to manipulate and when I finally found the exact position that didn't scald me or freeze me the water pressure changed and I had to start over again.

I was not able to find anything I liked about this hotel. Possibly the location. This is not a two and one half star hotel. The staff was not present or helpful. No breakfast and the room had a strong urine odor. Rundown! Very poor service. The hotel advertised a complimentary breakfast. When I took my children to breakfast, all the food was gone. The desk clerk was trying to run the kitchen and the front desk all by herself. Everyone was complaining about the conditions of the hotel. Our room was very rundown; holes in the curtains, worn carpet and there was even a strong odor of urine. I approached the front desk, but they just put me off stating that the room was already paid for, so they didn't need to adjust the price. They did not even offer to move me to another room even though it was obvious there were plenty of rooms available. This was a very bad experience. I could have stayed at the Marriott downtown for the same price. I chose the breakfast option and regret it to this day. The bottom line: choose four star or better and stay away from this particular property. It is not a two star property.

Good breakfast choices. Poor management; poor housekeeping. On a five night stay, our room did not receive housekeeping service on two of them. Since there is no housekeeping staff in the evening, our room was never cleaned on those two days and we had to replace towels and empty garbage on our own. Also, even after days where our room had received housekeeping service, it was clearly evident that a thorough job had not been done. Room on check in was also not thoroughly cleaned as evidenced by items on the carpet that should have been vacuumed on grease hand prints and hair on the shower walls. Hotel room and parts of the hotel also a distinct gasoline odor. Management response to our concerns simply did not occur though the front desk staff said they had conveyed our dissatisfaction. Front desk and night management staff are also not empowered by hotel management to take necessary action to make up for the basic service gaffes made by hotel staff. Hotel location, while convenient for freeway access, is not exactly in the safest part of town. Some staff also display extreme discourtesy which could be easily explained through our experience of poor management. It is obvious that much of the hotel's and hotel staff's shortcomings are reflective of its (or lack of) management practices.
