Upon check in we noticed a distinct difference in the friendliness of hte front desk clerk towards the handsome young man in front of us in line and ourselves, a woman and daughter. We laughed about it but on reflection, we thought it was kinda of tacky. The hotel itself is quite satisfactory, roomy accomodations, clean, etc. The location is poor - the only place to eat within walking distance is a really big, noisy and intimidating bar - which was recommended by the same front desk clerk!

It wasn't that great a hotel, and not to the standards I have expected from this chain in the past. After checking into the room, I wanted to clean up before attending a function in connection with a family funeral; I was under a bit of a deadline.Unfortunately, there was no water pressure and no hot water. A shower and shave were impossible. Upon phoning the desk clerk, I was told that "oh, the boiler went out this morning and is being replaced. The hot water and pressure should be back any minute now." 'Any minute now' turned out to be over an hour of waiting. I finally dressed without cleaning up and was late for the function. Had the desk clerk informed me of the water problems when I checked in I most certainly have gone to another hotel instead of having the day, and my impression of this hotel chain, marred by this incident. The desk clerk should have given me a heads up when I first arrived. No apologies were ever extended for the inconvenience.The continental breakfast in the morning was singularly bland; the room quite unspectacular. The bed was too firm and quite uncomfortable. The staff was generally indifferent, certainly not friendly and welcoming.

The Country Inn & Suites By Carlson - Rochester South was very clean. The staff did a great job in refreshing our room after one night stay.

We had stayed here on a couple of different occasions. The hotel desk clerk recognized us. She upgrade our room to a suite, for no additional charge! The staff is the best!

We have stayed at 4 other hotels in the last 2 years, and by far this hotel is the best! It's clean, comfortable and the staff is very nice. The kids love the pool and game room. As long as our daughter has to have check-ups at the Mayo Clinic we will stay at this hotel.

This Country Inn and Suites was very comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was much nicer than we expected. The shuttle service provided to the nearby Mayo Clinic was a very nice addition.

Clean, good location and offered breakfast. Difficult to get to. Frontage road was had to find. Country Inn & Suites has always been a clean, moderately priced hotel. Friendly and helpful staff.

The staff was very friendly, the continental breakfast superb and best of all, for adults the pool and whirlpool were open 24/7!!!! The bed was great not too hard not too soft, just right.

It's very quiet. Torn carpet in room, old candy and wrappers under bed, Decor is not my style. The hotel was fine. It was a good bargain compared to other hotels in the area, but the room I got was starting to show its' age. It's a little far from the Mayo, but that was not a problem for me. It's decor is a little too country for my taste, but it was mostly clean and comfortable.

It was very comfortable. It was fine and by using priceline it was economical. We were there to use the Mayo Clinic so it was convenient. The rooms and atmosphere was very pleasant.

Clean, had many amenities and beds were comfy. Everything went fine at the Comfort Inn and Suites. My mother and brother had come to Rochester since another brother was at the Transplant House with a stem cell transplant and I had been his caretaker. So it was a changing of the guard and we all appreciated a comfortable clean place to stay - would stay again. Perhaps getting to the hotel was a bit tricky with finding the frontage road.

Wonderful pool and spa, good breakfast, great staff. Location is difficult, you have to go more than a mile off freeway. This is an excellent hotel, with a fine caring staff, a great pool and spa. Good areas to gather in. Rooms are large and have small fridge, and microwave. Distance to any food sources could be a problem.

Clean, continental breakfast and friendly. Conveniently located, cleanliness, love the fresh Cookies and Coffee all day long. and has a good and clean continently breakfast. Staff is great. Hotel is kind of hard to get to with having to go around (bridge, exits, side road). Maybe they will be making an exit to the hotel shortly.
