The Houghton Country Inn & Suites is one of the newest hotels in town. It's laid out like other Country Inn's I've stayed at. There are two computers for guest use in the business center, and a decent fitness center. The indoor pool (4') and hot tub would be nice in the middle of a cold snowy Keewenaw winter. Complimentary breakfast included eggs boiled or scrambled, sausage, cereals, oatmeal, waffles, fruit, yogurt, juice and coffee. Our King suite was new, roomy, and clean. It was nice to have the fridge and microwave. Next door is the Mineshaft, an entertainment venue with bowling, videogames, and pizza & wings, as well as the RockHouse - a bar with a varied menu, live music, and Buzztime trivia. Houghton's shopping mall is about a quarter-mile away, and Wal-Mart is next door. This is a fine place to stay when bringing a student up to Tech, or just visiting the Copper Country.

This hotel was quiet and clean. The silent bathroom fan did nothing to dissipate steam. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful and our room was basic, but nice. Breakfast in the morning was very crowded, but I guess that's to be expected on a busy weekend.

The room was clean and well-stocked. The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast selection was better than most other hotels in this price range. I would stay here again.

The staff was so very friendly and helpful. Our room was kept clean for the entire stay! There was a restaurant next door that had loud music into the early hours of the morning. The town is a college town so it was really not unexpected. We really enjoyed the stay in this beautiful city. The hotel staff was helpful and friendly and the rooms very clean. It was great to have everything in good working order. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

we stayed here to try it out and would go back in a heart beat!! Clean, friendly, pool area is wonderful, the lobby is so cozy and warm, the staff is out of this world!! And I work for the travel industry!!! The only thing is the pillows are flat and I mention this to the staff and got a wonder comment from the manger and look forward to seeing if this was resolved or not.. I sure it was.

Convenience of lobby, breakfast area and pool. During breakfast the hotel did not have an adequate supply of basic items. The hotel was comfortable and was reasonably priced for tit's class. The stay was better than other hotels in the same class.
