I began this trip at 08:00a.m. on July 3,2009. I drove to Maryland to pick up my grand son, help my son with some vehicle repairs and retuned to Virginia to pick up the wife and more grands and continued on to Charleston. Most motels were sceaming no vacancies and time was running out for my arrival at my family reunion in charleston,SC. Not only did Country Hearth Inn Book my reservation via ORBITZ but when my wife and I arrived at 09:15 a.m. at the motel after dropping off the grands, tired from driving allnight, the receptionist took care of our booking and got us right into a spacious and clean room in plenty of time to rest up prior to the reunion. This was of particular note because our check in time wasn't untill 1400hrs.(2:00pm) on the 4th of July evening! We were able to shower, grab some sleep, and wake up fresh for a really enjoyable time. I chose to stay untill Monday instead of leaving next day on Sunday. Now comes the hard part though for most motels; My room did not come equiped with a microwave, there was so much food at the 4th reunion, I packed a bunch of ribs and sea food to go. Speaking to the motel staff,a knock on the door manifested a clean and working microwave within minutes! Boy this place is GREAT! Is there any thing not doable? Hats off to the staff and management for a great week end that could have been disastrous on such short notice. No room from the other hotels,"we hit pay dirt", the rates were great too! A thousand ataboys Country Hearth.

Nothing! Everything! Horrid, dirty, noisy, and totally overpriced!

The biggest issue we had was not being able to communicate with the all Spanish speaking housekeeping staff. On our second day there, the housekeeper came by, picked up all our towels dump the trash cans and left. She didn't make the beds or give us new towels. Called the front desk twice over the course of 3 hours asking that the housekeeper come make the beds. She finally came back after 4 hours and made both beds. She never did bring back any clean towels. We were literally drying off with a single hand towel since we couldn't get any clean ones because housekeeping had left for the day. We also had a second room for other family members. When the family members checked in, the hotel charged their debit card for the second room even though it had already been paid for through the travel website. We contacted the manager, who said it was straightened out. The next day, the room was AGAIN charged to the same debit card. After contacting the manager once more, she said that the paperwork was put in the wrong place and that is why it was charged a second time. Now our daughter has to wait 7-10 business days for the charges to be reversed and for the money to go back into her account. The hotel is also a bit run down and could use some sprucing up. The continential breakfast was very nice and better than other hotels. They had to work on our sink while we were there as it was stopped up. For the price we paid, we really expected a better hotel. We will go somewhere else the next time we are in Charleston.

This hotel is ok if you are looking to stay one night on a budget. The bathroom and furniture are very outdated. The room was clean. It says the rooms have been recently renovated, however it looks like they've just painted the rooms. The breakfast was very minimal. The only positive is that you are very close to the highway, and they are plenty of restaurants and shops around.

Nothing. Just about everything worst hotel I ever stayed in. Nothing went right with them from check in to check out. The rooms are in very bad shape. The staff do not know what they are doing. From the manager to the maids. We had to switch rooms 5 times in one night. We had to stay there for 3 nights of horror.

This hotel was very bad and run down. It should be taken off the travel website. I cannot believe it was there in that shape. The electrical outlets were falling off, the bedding was suspect. The bathroom was terrible. The pool was drained and out of maintenance as were the walkways, etc. General condition was not good at all.

Don't know if it was the hotel or Orbitz but there was a lot confusion at check in. I asked for a smoking room and they had booked a non-smoking. No problem, I was given a smoking room (No ashtrays anywhere!). I had booked and paid for 3 nights. When I checked in the clerk said "One night, right?" I said "No, I paid for 3 nights" She looked at my receipt and said, "Oh, okay" After the second night, the front desk called and asked why I hadn't checked out yet (about 11:05 a.m.) I told her I wasn't supposed to check out until the next day and she got a little ugly about it and said she would check into it and call me back. I told her I had my receipt and asked if she needed to see it. She said "No, I'll call you back" About an hour later, she finally called back and said, "You're right, you check out tomorrow" and HUNG UP! The INNcredible Breakfast left a lot to be desired. Cold cereal (Corn Flakes & Cherrios) bread, cold bisquits, and sausage gravy. The location was great, right off the Interstate and close to shopping, etc. About 15 minutes from the Naval Base, (I was there visiting my son). I'll probably go to another hotel on my next visit though.

WiFi internet. Distance from downtown charleston. The hotel is located on I-26 near airport..room had a smell. Coffee maker was not working and staff was not able to replace it. Window AC filter was very dirty. Otherwise it was fine for the money spent and if you plan to spend just the night in the room.

Not only was the room not up to standards, but we were surrounded by truckers hanging out outside and drinking all night, police were called(not by us), got no sleep. We were promised a credit. Refused credit at checkout. After several long distance phone calls, we were double billed.

Friendly staff. Musty smell in the room. It was clean but had a musty smell in the room, possibly due to the humidity of S.C.

Location - restaurant all around and right of interstate. Wrong Bed, Smoking, horrible breakfast, loud, dirty and much more. This hotel was absolutely atrocious. We requested a King Sized bed, but got two doubles. We were put in a Smoking room and couldn't change. There were burn marks everywhere - comforter, rug, tile, etc.. The breakfast was a joke but at least they have cereal. The staff was rude and the worst part was the noise from kids in the pool. Oh - and the parking lot was scattered with these huge bugs that looked like roaches with wings.

Good value, good right off the highway location, no frills clean room.

They did try to accommodate my needs! The comforter was dirty and the could not get on the Internet from my room! For price its ok, do not expect a lot, it is 1 and a half star hotel at best.

Just what you would expect for a cheaper hotel, but It wasn't really bad. Nice people and it was decently clean too. If you are a senior citizen, you'll love that the only 2 cereals are plain cheerios and raisin bran at the 6am breakfast. The coffee gave me the big D, but what else it new.

The staff was friendly. The hotel is operating as an extend stay motel. The staff was friendly. However, the hotel is operating like an extended stay hotel. I was told that the room would only be cleaned every other day. Housekeeping would remove the dirty towels but I had to go to the front desk to obtain clean towels because housekeeping did not replace the towels each day. The hot breakfast consisted of only instant gravy in a slow cooker, toast, and cold ceral. Most of the rooms were occupied by construction workers. Lastly, I accidentially left a box of about 100 writing pens in the room when I checked out on Sunday; when I called the hotel on Monday morning to inquire about if the pens were returned to the fornt desk, I was informed that housekeeping had only discovered five pens. I will never stay at this hotel nor recommend the hotel to others.

Good location, right off the interstate, close to everything. The room looked a little rough, a big hole in the bathroom door and a chunk out of the bathroom wall, but everything was pretty clean. They said they were renovating, so maybe they just hadn't gotten to those parts. Very nice staff. I bookedo n Orbitz, but for some reason they hadn't entered my reservation when I got there. They were apologetic and very helpful to get everything fixed. Kind of loud outside, but it was overall a pretty good experience.

The Charleston historical area was fascinating. However, we chose the hotel so we would be close to the airport for an early departure. Our hotel room was filthy. Our room key didn't work, the tub was black and brown with stains especially along the mat, the bathroom had an odor, the bathroom exhaust was filled with dust/lint, the TV clicker didn't work. All in all, it was an extremely uncomfortable stay.
Date of Stay:
May, 2009
The hotel claimed the rooms were newly remodled. Ok if you count burns on the bathtub, a bed on a 2x4 pedastal, and plaster on the walls.
