My son was visiting Indiana University. THe hotel is not up to orbitz standards. It should be removed from the list. The pool has not been available for two years. The rooms smell, the hotel is dirty, the entrance doors are always open, no locks. It is a great location but not up to Orbitz standard. Rating of 1 is too kind, it should be uninhabitable.

The room was clean and the hotel staff provided fresh linens every day. The hall carpets were not too clean and the pool was not in use. The room was clean and even though the price was cheap I was very satisfied with the room.

Myself and my wife are not really picky when it comes to hotels. So long as they are clean, safe, etc. we are fine. We reserved this based upon a 3 star rating we saw. We should have listened to the other reviews. This place is worse than any Motel 6, Super 8, etc. that we have ever stayed at. Walking into the place is depressing. It is old, dingy, etc. This is definitely the worst motel that we have ever stayed at and we checked out as soon as we could in the moring. Believe me, sleeping in a tent in a campground is better than this place.

This property was poorly maintained

There was nothing to like about this hotel. This hotel was dirty, unsafe, and the staff was unable to help in any way. The pool was closed indefinitely. The free wireless was not available in our room, in any of the hallways, or even in the lobby. The staff were ignorant teenagers. The carpet was dirty everywhere (even sticky!), the windows were dirty, the beds were hard, and to top it all off, there was a puppy in the room above us who whined and cried for 24 straight hours. I have never stayed in such a terrible hotel, and I have been in some doozies.

The property is old and physically needs renovation but the staff is great. The new manager is trying to clean the place up and it looks and smells better than the last time I was here.

I thought the Country Hearth had all of the amenities that we were looking for.

The hotel had good water pressure and hot water. The hotel was falling apart and was very dingy and dirty. I had read the other reviews on this hotel a while back. Cons: the hotel was run down and very dingy. I was put in a smoking room which stunk very badly. Pros: the hotel was quiet and located very close to IU. The staff was nice. Just a place to lay my head.

I booked this hotel off the hotels website and was displeased when I arrived. The hotel is nasty, dirty and not safe. The hotel also reants our rooms as apartments and on our way up to our rooms, the other residents was whistling at us. The rooms are dirty. The bathtub had dirt and meldew, open electrcial outlets in the bathroom, the smell is aweful. The door would not close all the way. We opened our patio door only to find yellow jackets nest right outside. This hotel needs updated or torn down. We packed up and left and management at the front desk would not offer us another room, a refund or anything. Very rude people. Dont stay here, spend your money elsewhere.

The Country Hearth had a warm, helpful checkin staff, and was very accommodating. The room was average, but clean. Outside of hotel and hallways a bit damaged, but not bad. Good location for someone who wants to be on the outside of town - close to travel intersections.

Checking out of this dirty and poorly maintiained hotel. It wasn't clean. the only positive thing that I can say about my stay is that the sheets and towels were clean. The outside of the building is poorly maintained, and the clerk at check-in smelled like he'd been drinking all day. The floors were stained and dirty, and the heater in the room had a malfunctioning thermostat. The indoor pool was closed and didn't appear that it would be opening soon, or ever.

This hotel was awful. There was no security. All outside doors could be accessed by anybody. The wallpaper was pealing off the walls. Mildew in the shower. And a terrible smell throughout. At a charge of nearly $* per night! The staff was understanding and allowed us to check out right away with no charge to my credit card.

The hotel was very rundown. Shabby decor and an odd odor is the best description. Very hard to make it from hotel room to lobby without navigating stairs and long hallways. Elevator worked but it was very slow.

The hotel was filthy,I changed rooms several times and they all reeked of mildew. Absolutely awful.

"We wanted to bring our pet and this was one of few hotels that allowed. It was obvious pets were allowed. Room smelled like smelly, stinky dog. Except for one staff, no one would help. We mainly stayed because of pool which had no towels and wasn't unlocked when it was supposed to be???"

This place was falling apart and getting worse. The elevator did not work and the clerk said that they had no plans to fix it. The corridors smelled bad, the rugs were worn, and the walls were dirty. The pool was permanently closed. The room was o.k. and because it was a quiet time in Bloomington, the hotel was quiet. The TV worked fine. Also there was a fridge and microwave oven. But be warned: college students often rent rooms here and trash them with loud parties. So, find a better place to stay in Bloomington even if you have to pay more.

Location. Everything else. The room I checked into was not cleaned. I moved to a room at the end of a hall where a door slammed all night and guests across the hall were drink and loud. The WiFi did not work, so I could not do my online work. The hot water took 10 minutes to get to my room and the knob was stripped so I could not control the temperature.

"This place is so disgustingly dirty it's hard to believe. The elevator smelled like someone urinated in it. The place is so dirty, dingy, and dark I was afraid for my life. I can not believe the health department allows this place to operate."

My son and I stayed and were satisfied. However, if my wife and daughter were with us they would have not been satisfied.

The staff was friendly. The hotel had a bad smell, musky, moldy smell. I stayed at this hotel two summers ago. The hotel has really went downhill! The pool was closed, and when asked the staff couldn't give me a projected opening date for the pool? The staff was very friendly, but the hotel smells musky & moldy. The hotel is right next to a couple of very rowdy apartment complexes. The apartment complex residents drive through the hotel parking lot at fast rates of speed on a regular basis. I was flipped-off by a young female as she raced through the hotel parking lot after leaving the apartment complex? I will not stay at this hotel ever again. I have an eleven year old daughter that did not feel safe in the parking lot of this hotel.
