Two night break to celebrate my husband's birthdayWe wanted to be able to walk into the centre of Inverness, somewhere to park the car and somewhere we could chill out with abit of atmosphere. We enjoyed all that at the Corriegarth. The staff were all chatty and pleasant and were keen for us to enjoy ourselves. We met local people in the bars and they were very friendly to us and made us welcome. Stylish Taboo restaurant, lounge bar and separate bar with LCD TVs and a pool table. Oh, and great outdoor seating areas under huge umbrellas. Our room was a little dated but the bed was lovely and comfy and the big bathroom was great. We had a bar meal which we enjoyed although I think the usual chef was not working in the kitchen the night we ate and the food was a little overdone. Not complaining tho' . It was fine. The new cocktail/long drinks menu is a great addition and the barman was doing a grand job trying to promote sales. The bars stay open until 1am some nights and the rooms may experience some noise on some nights when there is something going on but anyone going to the Corriegarth with probably be down there joining in and enjoying the lively craic anyway. We certainly did and would return to this hotel when we visit Inverness again. Good value for money and we were able to book room only. Plenty of places to get a brekkie in the town centre and flexibility to eat either in the hotel or in the town for dinner.

Stay in InvernessThis hotel has only approx 6 rooms. It is in a handy location to town & has off street parking which is ideal for those who are driving. Recommended.

Pub with Rooms (6)This hotel has private car park and pedestrian access to town centre, via 'Mrket Steps'. The staff were multi-tasking and very helpful. The cooked breakfast was freshly made on request. However, two beds are shoehorned in to the 'single' room- leaving no space for a waste basket let alone a chair. The shower cubicle in the bijou bathroom was held together with duct tape, and showed mildew in corners. My mid-week stay was fairly noisy, but I suspect weekends would be moreso, from the popular two bars and restaurant, (including patio) and passing traffic.

Not what I would call a hotel more a restaurant/bar with some rooms above. Saying that the service and food were very good , and the room was fine. No complaints at all would probably stay again when in Inverness

Corriegarth stay 2 July 09Not hugely impressed overall. The room was clean with nice towels and linen (although no waste bin in bedroom) but I think they are understaffed. In the morning I went to the dining room for breakfast but left after waiting for at 10-15 mins without seeing any evidence of staff (so I am unable to comment on their food!) When I went to check out, there was still nobody there and after I eventually found someone (by ignoring a "Private" notice and walking into their kitchens) it was clear there was only one person working and trying to do everything.

Friendly, helpful and very efficient staff, friendly and interesting locals in the bar. Spotless room, only thing missing was somewhere convenient to place your shampoo and soap when having a shower! Will definitely stay here again.

Nice sized room and bathroom. However, the good points stop there the service from the place was appaling, the staff seem to not care. Poor value for money as breakfast was not included.

Upon arriving at hotel we were greeted by a member of staff in the hallway and promptly checked in. Our room was spacious and clean, only fault with room was that tv remote didnt work and being short i couldnt reach the on and off switch since tv was on wall, but hubby did it for me (most likely the batteries) . Only had food in the bar area and it was excellent ! So cannot comment on the bistro. All the staff were friendly and welcoming , all our needs were met and would definetly stay there again if travelling to inverness, which in its own a very nice place.

Value hotelI was impressed by the warmth of the welcome I was shown, the room was airy and spacious, I cannot comment on the food as I dined at a friends that evening, however I would recommend the place very highly

CorriegarthWe had a very enjoyable stay at the Corriegarth. The hotel was very good value for money. It was just what we required, clean and comfortable. I would recommend it and would stay there again. It is in a very good location and close to the town centre and amenities.

Best food in over thirty years tavel in UK beats one rosette standardsNice,bright,friendly well situated hotel.Just a few minutes walk from Inverness centre but in quiet suburb.Nice room but a wee bit small.Food out of this world and very reasonably priced.Recommend the cullen skink Risotto for a starter. Good sized portion,well cooked,well presented on plate. Main course and sweet also par excellence,everything with that little extra touch.Food here better than any one or two rosette hotel I have ever stayed in.good deals on wine,buy two glasses get the bottle.

Good stayThe meal was OK, but the 'extra cheese' on a pizza was cheddar and detracted rom what I was expecting.The TV was frustrating as, of the 20 choices, 16 showed a fault with sky!!, but these really are minor gripes as the bathroom, bedroom, service and friendliness of the staff was excellant.And to be fair to the hotel I did not complain abou the 2 minor issues as I was tired and did not want the fuss they would have undoubtly made to sort things out for me
