The Copthorne is our favorate place to unwind. Waking to see the sun on the beautiful bay waters,is so peaceful. Ample breakfast sets you up for the day.So much to see and do, out on the Bay and on land. Starting with the Treaty House and visitors centre 5 mins walk along the grass. The hotel pools are clean and the spa is hot. The staff friendly , food very good,rooms have comfortable chairs inside and out on the deck, what more could you want?

The hotel was excellent but like most hotels in NZ even to this standard, do not have airconditiong in the rooms. This made things a little uncomfortable as the weather was very hot and humid. They did however provide a fan on request. Would certainly stay at this hotel again.

Beautiful spa and pools, spacious rooms, great view, perfect ambiance. They charge $1.50 every time you pick up the phone, even 800 numbers, but they removed the charges because we didn't know. Luxurious, beautiful room and spa/pool area. The room and location exceeded our expectations. The hotel was quiet and relaxing, and fit well within our budget. This is easily the best hotel we stayed at during our three week vacation in New Zealand. The one complication we had the additional surcharges on the telephone that we were unaware of; was taken care of without any problems by the friendly hotel staff.

An excellent hotel and one of the highlights of my stay in New Zealand. A wonderful setting, right next to the treaty grounds and near a great walking path along the beach. The hotel itself is excellent and the meals wonderful. Best included breakfast I have had in many, many years. Very impressed.

This is a stunning hotel and a bargain at the price - we booked through [website]. The breakfast buffet included in the price is fantastic and the pool complex with jacuzzi one of the nicest in NZ. The grounds are beautiful and Paihia and Russell close by are heaps of fun. The day trip to Cape Reinga on the dune rider ( I think that's what it was called was a highlight. We visit this hotel for two to three days twice a year as a sanity break from a very busy job in Auckland.

great locayion;friendly service from allstaff;only mild disappointment was late hour of room being made up afert vacating early morning and leaving sign for room to be made up. also ran out of pool towels at reception;hotel was full and gained impression saff under pressure however still pleasant if a little amateur at times

Nice location, but facilities don't cater for wet weather.

Nice Hotel, friendly staff. Room was a bit on the small side. Chose a hotel specifically with a bath but the bath was too dirty to use. Over priced. Location was good however next time we will be staying in Paihia to have better access to activities etc. Breakfast was good but dinner was $40 per head and over priced for the food we received.

Overall a nice facility and a lovely location. Just one comment - as it was winter and very cold, an electric blanket would have been a welcome addition to the bedding. Food was very good for dinner and breakfast was excellent.
