Within 15 minutes of checking in we had checked out as a result of dirty linen, pubic hair on sheet and glass of water containing several cigarette butts on balcony of a superior non-smoking room. We were not paying for the room as we had an accommodation voucher. This is the second Copthorne in NZ where we have encountered poor housekeeping standards. As a consequence, we will never step foot in another Copthorne!!

Room was booked for 3 adults, furnished with 2 single beds and a folding put you up which was not of a suitable height. (The Copthorn in Christchurch had 2 queen sized beds, which were suitable). The door to the balcony could not be locked and was accessable to an adjacent flat roof. The kettle was not up to an acceptable level of cleanliness. Only provided with two towels on the final nights stay. We would recomend the Copthorne in Christchurch but not the one in Auckland.

The only gliche in service was in the restaurant/bar where we had to whistle up the barman and get our own menus/wine lists - not really on the ball but other aspects of service were fine

Although i thought i had booked the copthorne near the viaduct closer to Queen street, my husband and i were not dissapointed with the location of this one. In fact it made our visit easier as it was not far from queen street, nor was it too far from Newmarket, a great place for shopping. Parking was adequate, rooms very nice, a bit on the small side however everything you needed was there. Great view of the area and port. Thouroughly recommend staying here, definitely would book again.

An ok place but the room was looking shabby.The carpet had pulled away from the linoleun in one place. The net curtains had been washed but looked like they needed an iron.The door to the room had chips of wood and paint missing on the outside lower edge.
