I was really surprised to find out that a hotel that carries 4 stars and costs 110 euros for a double room could be that bad. First of all, everything, every piece of furniture, everything from the lobby, through dining areas, conference rooms, elevators, stairs, room furniture, everything was worn out and overused. The beds were nothing but old, dirty, worn out, uncomfortable mattresses thrown on top of what appeared to have been a bed case 20 years ago. The sheets were small and covered little. Whatever the sheets did not cover, was filthy. The carpeting was filthy as well. It looked like someone attempted to clean the bathroom but it was done very poorly. There was a certain smell in the lobby. Breakfast was so average and under todays standards that one would rather skip it then try eating it. Chairs were covered in some sort of lining that was probably supposed to hide their condition, but that lining was filthy and stained, just like the table clothes. The staff was not unfriendly but not very good either. I stayed there with my 78 year old father for one night. I wish I hadn't. I wish this stay was not one of the memories that I would have.
