I was robbed at the oceanfront continental hotel. On september 13 discovered that my camera which had been in a cabinet in my room, was missing. The ziper of my locked luggage had been forced open, and $ 400 worth of new clothing was taken. There was no forced entry, and nothnin seemed disturbed. the police said it was clearly an inside job., and I agree. When I told the hotel management, all the said was" sorry this happened, are you sure you didn't leave your door open". When I pressed them for any action, they said, they would "ask housekeeping". when I checked out on september 14, they had not yet "asked" housekeeping anything. I feel horribly violated that I should be robbed in a hotel for which I paid $ 100 a night. This is the worst travel experience of my life.

basic rooms wish the bathroom was a little cleaner no frills no extra if you just need a room go for it! it is south-beach and it is loud on street side all night lots of party goers !!

Clean. Parking, noise, slow check in, checkout, tiny TV, no glasses in the room. This hotel is not dirty, but doesn't have much else going for it. With next to no parking or front desk staff, checking in or out is a bit more complicated than any other hotel that I've been to. Pizzarias toss flyers under the room doors, people have meetings in the hallway at all hours, and there's plenty of street noise. The blankets look really tired. Still it's at least as good as the Motel 6 I stayed in once.

I found the location to be excellant, the standard room I stayed in was large and very nice and comfortable. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and the pool area and restaurant were also very good. This is excellant value for money , trust me I cannot understand any of the negative reviews .My friend also rates it highly.Give it a try if you need somewhere which is inexpensive in South Beach and is also very comfortbale.

I wasn't expecting the Ritz for the price but what I did expect was a clean room...I was so wrong. if only I has read the reviews first! Our shower made a loud screaming noise everytime the water was turned on, you can hear the people and or television very clearly through the wall...so don't expect a good nights sleep. This place is soooo oold and needs a major re-vamp and clean. our bathroom was dark, dingy and dirty i even found someone elses used plaster on the floor. the window ledges were filthy as if the person before us had been smoking there. the mini fridge was dirty and i requested to the front desk that it be clean.....It never happened. The elevator safety check notice in the lift was out dated by almost a year! unfortunatly I had already pre booked and paid for 2 nights on the net so i really had to stay there or loose my money but the remainder of our stay we found somehere else that was better and cheaper! i seriously don't know how there people are still in business.

this place is not what you see in thhe pictures!!!! the travel agency needs to go back and review this place again....once they do, they would take this place off of their website!!!! the only plus to this place is the location. the rooms smell like mildew, the shower has mildew and mold, the housekeeping department is lazy. we had to call every morning for clean towels and wash cloths. we called for a wake up call the morning of our flight, we never recieved it!!! the only thing the front desk staff knows how to say is sorry. this is less than a 2 star hotel... this is a 0 star hotel. it needs to be torn down and rebuilt......i am writing the management company about my stay there..... i was very dissatisfied!!!!!!!!!!!

It was a 2 star hotel, so it was basically what you would expect. We didn't want to spend a lot of money; we just wanted a place where we could crash at the end of a night of partying in south beach. The location was good; nothing was too terrible. The room was small, not clean. The walls were thin. The place was not too secure (one of our locks was missing). There was a nice bar in the lobby with a cute little bridge to cross. The staff was largely unhelpful - their parking lot was full so we had to park 4 blocks away and pay for it. If you're just looking for an inexpensive place and do not care about comfort, it will be fine.

That I could leave the next day. Mostly a shelter for the homeless and degenerate of South Beach, and this includes the staff - of which we saw two people, who both appeared to be intoxicated and extremely agitated. The property is nearly abandoned, is unsanitary and unsafe (elevators provided the same excitement a roller coaster typically would.) Best to not offer this to your customers or anyone you want to speak to again. Not even worth a free room.

Barely staffed hotel this year. ...Paint peeling off the walls in room, noisy,(u could hear your adjacent neighbors) no washcloths, tissues, cups, etc. The pool was dirty & unheated. Indoor bar was never open. Tour desk attendant was lazy & a liar. The police came to the hotel one night! ( The location is good even so we will NEVER stay here again.

This hotel was by far the WORST place I have ever stayed in my life. It was my first time in Miami and it was a horrible miserable experience. We checked in and were told we have an upgrade to the oceanside, so we were thinking great! NOT! We get to the room and it smells like mold and mildew, the ceiling was water stained, the closet ceiling was touching the top shelf from water damage, the sheets were stained and we found blood stains on a pillow, we had to open the window so we could breath. I never took my shoes off and I slept on a towel on top of the sheets. Thank god I brought my own pillow! This hotel was a comlpete disappointment, completley unsanitary and the staff did not care in the least. We tried for days to get in touch with a manager however, no one bothered to return our phone calls; I am not suprised considereing the overwhelming amount of bad reviews from several different travel sites that I have read. Do not stay at this hotel if you are planning to enjoy your stay in Miami, it was disgusting!

this hotel has a very rude staff. there were 4 adults we had to share one pillar per bed. they only let you park if you pay them alot of money or than that you have to park 4-blocks away and pay 40.00 overnight. i would not reccomend thi hotel to anyone: we travel all over the world and this is the worst night in a motel i ever had.

Location. Everything. Bad service and not very clean.

Poor service, we requested a wake up call as there was no alarm clock in the room. No phone call! Luckily we made it to the airport just in time to board. Very limited parking in hotel driveway, charge of $30/day if you even got lucky to get a spot. Parking attendant constantly hassled us if we attempted to park for even less than 10 min. to get something from our room. Poor maintenance, the elevator walls are made of mirrors which were cracked in certain areas. I cut my hand! Bathroom was falling apart. Room had an odor. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to my worst enemy.

The rooms are gross, dirty, and old. They lied about the cost of parking!! 50.00 per day!! The front desk people were rood and could barely speak any english. STAY AWAY

The room seemed clean, however, its quality was comparable to a run-down Motel 6 with no TV remote, ice bucket, cups, no complimentary conveniences and a broken back-up door lock. The outside of the hotel looks much nicer. I will say, however, that the price was right for its location!

The location was perfect. The hotel is falling apart, room had some structural issues. In general, the hotel itself is old and run down. Stepping into the room, I was a bit worried that the stay wouldn't be pleasant. Room was somewhat dirty, with large patches of the wall/ceiling material coming off. Bathroom seemed clean, just old and not very comfortable. The TV received 4-5 channels. But it was actually very quiet at night and the beds were comfortable. The location is fantastic. I would have been satisfied if the price were lower. As it is, I'll most likely be looking elsewhere next time.

Where to start: the staff was very rude, the walls are paper thin so you can hear every single thing above, below and beside you, trapped in elevator for 45 minutes... all elavators were subsequently out of order for the remainder of my stay (try lugging 200 pounds of dive gear up and down 5 flights of stairs every day for a week), A/C in room would not come on and one of the windows would not close. All in all I can only compare my stay to a hostel I stayed at in Thailand during college.

When we booked this hotel, we called to verify the parking rates. We were told it was 30 a night. Also, we found this info on their web site and printed a copy to bring with us. When we got there the valet (there is no self parking) rudely told us it would be 45 plus tax. He was extremely rude. The front desk staff couldn't seem to help us out with this. They said they had not control over the parking rates. We ended up parking the car in a garage we found about 4 blocks away. The room was old and dirty. Paint was falling of the walls in chunks. The carpet was definitely not to be walked on in bear feet. The beds were small and questionable. We were on a higher floor..but there were "hall parties" all night on the lower floors. We definitely would not recommend this hotel. Yuck!!!

Overall this hotel is a great place to stay when you dont plan on hanging in the rooms, its older not modern but a great place to get some rest after a long miami night. Right on the beach, pool decent size.
