WonderfulThis place is very grand but very relaxing at the same time. We will be back! Although near a main road, you could not hear any traffic noise in the hotel at all. The service was perfect and discreet. The food was to die for. Our room had good quality and old-fashioned furniture, which complemented the style of the hotel very well. The only thing that spoilt it was the Round Table in the marquee shouting over the loud speaker system until 2am.

Faded EleganceCountry Hotel in a stunning location. I stayed in an annexe room which had a musty smell and was desperate for a make over. Being away from the hotel also posed problem of keeping dry in the inevitable rain. Restaurant and food were excellent. Hotel needs updating with some properly fitted carpets and bar seating, this area particularly currently lacks ambience.Staff were friendly and helpful.

What a view!My sister remarked that it was a little like staying at your grandmother's. Everything is nice, but just a bit worn. The view from the room was stunning. I'm attaching a photo. The food was excellent. The gardens around the guest house are beautiful. It's quiet, the bathrooms are modern and clean,. The bed was comfortable. There's a teakettle, teabags, instant coffee and cookies in the room. We only saw one employee while we were there. She checked us in and waited on us at dinner and breakfast the next morning. She was very helpful and efficient. If you have trouble climbing stairs this may not be the place for you. We stayed on the 2nd floor. Even with an elevator, there were still half a flight of stairs to climb.

I felt that the hotel was out of date, decoration in my room was poor paper in the bathroom was peeling off, considering this is a 3 star hotel the tv my room didn't even have a mains aerial just an indoor aerial on top of the tv with reception very poor but on the good side the food was excellant

Country house hotel in a superb setting - overlooking countryside and walking distance of coast. Great fora relaxing weekend break. Has a "period" feel and could do with some refurbishment. Excellent food at a la Carte prices

Overnight in AberystwythGreat country house hotel with excellent restaurant and friendly personal service. Rooms fairly typical for this type of hote - spacious and tall ceilinged with quality but older furnishings and a hard but spotlessly clean bed.Loved it and would recommend - but 9-miles from anywhere and lacks modern hotel facilities if these are important to you. Calm, peaceful and once again staffed by enthusiastic and skilled team of people.

A pleasant and relaxing experienceThe whole time we stayed at the hotel was totally enjoyable. From the welcome we received at check in, to the moment we checked out was a warming experience. We had (what can only be described as) a beatifully cooked meal in a beatifully decorated restaurant and relaxed in a beatifully decorated room in the most beautiful of surroundings. See you again soon i hope.

Nice warm welcome, but needs a new make over. Breakfast was good, but the bar meal was a bite disapointing.

Weekend stayHad three nights at this hotel. Room was smelling of damp so they changed our room when we complained. Nice location, though Aberystwyth was a dump! Great though for using as a base to explore the coast.

Just what we wanted We had a lovely time here. The hotel has gorgeous views and is well located to explore the surrounding towns and villages. The Conrah is friendly, clean, warm and cosy. However if we had payed full price I think I would've been disappointed as the Hotel is quite old fashioned and the rooms and decor could do with updating but it's perfectly acceptable. The food is fantastic! Breakfast was excellant if you like your fry up I can recommend the bacon, it was OK for continental, not a massive choice but again perfectly acceptable. In the evening the food is fab, we had a lovely meal. I would recommend it if you want something special and not 'cheap and cheerfull' during your stay. For a differant c & c alternate there is a lovely Japenise restaurant in Aberystwyth called Wazabe located in a side street near the large pier.

Conrah HotelThe hotel is in a beautiful setting and was relaxing and peaceful. My only criticisms would be that my room smelt very strongly of damp, to the point where when I arrived home 2 days later my bags, clothes etc still smelt of it, and also for some reason the room was full of flies which didn't make for a very relaxing night! Also, if you are away on business alone and like to relax and watch a little TV in the evening, there are only very limited channels to choose from. Obviously if you were on a romantic break however, this wouldn't be a problem!

Very pleased Lovely food, superb views from the room and the restaurant. The romm was beautiful. Only slight criticism was how quiet the dining room was in the evening; a few more people would have made for a better atmosphere.

A very pleasant stayAlong with many places that I have stayed in South and West Wales, the staff could not have been more pleasant or helpful. The bonus in this case was the excellent food! Modern interpretations of classic food that remembered the importance of not being ridiculous, just to be good to look at, generous in quantity and to taste superb.

Highly RecommendUpon our arrival we were greeted with a warm and friendly smile. Very efficient booking in service. As we had arrived late we were asked if we had eaten and made aware the restaurant was available. We were shown to our room and a lift was available, which was great as our room was on the 2nd floor. We did take dinner in the restaurant. the food was beautifully cooked. The only area we would ask the hotel to review is based on the quantity of food for the price. We would definitely go back and would recommend by word of mouth.

This is a quality hotel -- easily the best for Aberystwyth. Very highly recommended.

If you want to pay £24 for your steak, this is the place. However, stocks are limited. I counted 6 other diners when I sat down at 8 pm. But I had missed the steak. They'd all gone by this time! The cooked breakfast is a cut above the norm, but overall the hotel is past its best. The rooms over the kitchens are noisy because of it and cleanliness, state of decor and furnishings do not justify the £110 standard rate. The laterooms rates (£55-£70) and those advertised at the hotel as special offers are just about value for money. I can't comment on the cottage suites also available. The hotel is basically unstaffed once reception closes (though reception very kindly stayed late to check me in at midnight) and this may be an issue - for me it was when the alarm on a clock radio in the kitchens went off at 00:45 and kept going until I found it and turned it off. If it had been my car alarm, I'm not sure I could have got out of the hotel or back in again after, as the doors are locked when reception closes and guests don't get a key by default.
