The style, interior and exterior, and service were among the best in Cape May. Nothing significant. Congress Hall is a wonderful hotel. It's got a very cool atmosphere, two of the hippest bars/longes in Cape May from what could see. The service was outstanding and the facilities were terrific. I'd definitely go again.

Like stepping back into a more genteel era. Beautiful building and grounds, enormous veranda with rocking chairs, lawn bowling and croquet, two pools (one adults only), on-beach lunch service, two lounges, twice-daily maid service. Right across the street from the beach. Expensive, but well worth it for a special treat. Ideal for romantic getaway or girlfriends' weekend.

The building was beautiful. The landscape was well kept. The staff was very attentive. There was no free breakfast. I would stay again!

Filthy room, 2nd room stunk of bleach, they deducted payment upon making the reservation & then also when we check in. Manager could care less about our complaints. He offered a gift certificate for later but this place is not worth staying for free!

The lobby was nice and the staff was pleasant. The room - everything except the flat screen TV. Slanted floor, gap under doors. Heater did not work. It's an old building that they tried to update. The walls are cracked up, floors are slanted, the doors had a 3" gap under them, the heater didn't work. The only positive thing I can say was that the bed was soft and the flat screen TV was nice. The room was very small.

We stayed last year and enjoyed it, but only after being given a room after attempts were made to give us rooms which had wet carpets and leaky ceilings. This year we said no wet rooms. However, that's what we got. We were told they had no options. They knew the room was faulty as I overheard them say others had rejected it that day as well. We were given nothing but a refund and a half hearted ""I fear we may have lost you as a customer"" apology. They should have called and saved us a 4 hour trip. I vote nay to Congress Hall.

Beautiful view of the ocean, food was Blue Pig Tavern was delicious! Great cocktails in the lounge, cozy fire. Everything we wanted. Nothing.

The rooms are beautiful & spotless, the staff superb, and the setting gorgious. No better place to celebrate our 10th anniversary. We'll be back!!!!!! PS- We ate almost all our meals at the hotel restaurant The Blue Pig- so good there was no reason to go elsewhere.

The public spaces are truly majestic and lovely. Rooms lack character compared to B&B. It is extremely well located adjacent to shoppng area, events and beach, and of course, Cape May is a wonderful town for strolling and admiring the many well-kept Victorian homes. I think we got really good value for an overnight trip, and although the room was less antique-y than a B&B, one cannot always get a B&B for a single night.

The renovation to the common areas is beautiful. The rooms, however, leave something to be desired - large enough but a little short on comfort. For the price, I had hoped for more. Restaurant is nothing special - eat elsewhere. The pool however is terrific and the proximity to the beach is ideal. Alternatively, the staff is not particularly helpful or well-informed.

Location, great restaurantclean andclassic room. Went off season. There were very few people also staying. The beach was nearby as well as a makeshift outdoor mall. The restaurant at the hotel The Blue Pig was probably the best bet in all of Cape May.

Location was great changed linen everyday brought in a fridge at our request. Noisy air and heating system heard noise & people walking around in room above. If noisy air and heating system and thin walls do not bother you this is a great place to stay restaurant was good, but not nearly as good as the Ebbit house and not in the same league as the Washington house. The lobster house is not as good as people seem to say it is, and it is also a 10 minute drive. Changing sheets and a turn down everyday was a nice plus

The location, by the ocean. Windows were dirty on outside from salt air. It is a very nicely restored hotel, historic, with a great location in one of the best seaside resorts on the Atlantic Coast.

The atmosphere was charming. Cleaning staff was always in the hallways. For a nice romantic getaway this is a charming hotel.

Unusual décor. Somewhat uneven flooring. Unique hotel experience, maintained within its era, charming.

Centrally located. Again, we had difficulties with the billing process. The hotel wanted to charges us again for the rooms. Congress Hall is a beautiful hotel located at Cape May, NJ. Rooms are attractive with BASIC amenities. Unfortunately, we travel off season and many of the amenities you come to expect at a hotel like the Congress Hall were not available to our guest or our family (I wish somebody would have mentioned this important detail during our booking process). On Thursday afternoon, we could not find a staff available to prepare an Espresso coffee. We also discovered that there was no room service available for lunch during the weekdays, and no spa services available during the weekdays. Certainly if you come to enjoy of the Congress Hall amenities, you better place your reservation only for the weekends. The staff was particularly not friendly or helpful, with exception of the cleaning crew, which was fabulous and friendly towards our child. If you are traveling with children, you may be better off staying at a friendly family bed and breakfast than at the Congress Hall.

It is quaint and just across the street from the beach. Limited services--at least this time of year. No indoor pool. Congress Hall is a wonderful old hotel, but initially was given a tiny room. Fortunately, the person on duty upgraded us. Still, we saved only about 25% and got no indoor pool or 24-hour food service.

The fact that it was clean and comfortable. Great location charming and a nice restaurant. The front desk help not all but one in particular was not very helpful. We had the impression that some things were not her job! It's more for adults I think. It's a lovely structure and a classy interior. The bar area was very nice. I would like to see entertainment from Thursday thru Sunday. Maybe some jazz and piano. The grounds were very nicely maintained except for the parking lot. It should be hidden from the rest of grounds maybe some landscaping. But overall a great stay and We would stay again.
