April 2009Six of us stayed in this hotel in 4 different rooms. They were all very clean with large towels (not stupid little ones) My room faced the street and I was on the second floor, so when the windows were open it was noisy, but shut I could barely hear a thing and the aircon was great. The other rooms had frosted glass windows as presumably they faced something horrid, so the rooms were quite dark, but very quiet. I wouldn't have like to stay in them for a week, but a couple of nights was fine.Breakfast was ok, but not really worth the money, there is a great coffee place a couple of doors away that had lovely danish pastries and did great coffee, so that is a better breakfast stop.The location is what makes this hotel outstanding and i would not hesitate to stay here again.

After an 8 hour flight,I was unable to check in for 7 hours! I was told repeatedly to come back in a couple more hours. Because of the great location I was able to kill time exploring the city which was great. I was then given a smoking room and had to wait again for a non smoking room. The hotel was listed as a four star but it was more like a fancy motel. I still had a great trip.

Great location, very close to tourist bus stop, and La Rambla area. Hotel room was very minimalist, but very clean and tidy. Staff were very helpful. We didn't use the restaurant so can't comment. We had a 6th floor room which was very modern and very quiet. Not sure you could call it 4* but for the price I got and the location, what more do you want.

Short Stay 16/3 - 18/3Great location for Cathedral, Las Ramblas and Harbour. Just a short walk to Playa de Catalunya for buses, metro and taxis. Plenty of good restuarants and Tapas bars to eat out in so therefore did not eat in the hotel.Small downside is that there are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room but hey there are plenty of coffee bars around and great Patisseries too.

The location of the hotel made things easy. We walked to the hotel (12 minutes) from Plaza Cataluña where the airport bus A 1 stops. The Cathedral and the Gothic quarter are very near to the hotel. We could check in before noon and the hotel personnel was nice. The hotel decoration is very modern making it attractive even though it is a small building with small rooms. The buffet breakfast was varied.

Nice minimalist decor, good location in Barcelona. There was a lot of street noise but double glazed windows controlled that. Staff were helpful and recommended a cheap nice local restaurant next door for a meal when I arrived very late. It would be nice if they had no smoking rooms. I don't smoke and my room ponged. The valve to switch on my shower stopped working after the first night. I reported it but it wasn't fixed (it was the weekend), so I had to take baths after that. I plan to return to Barcelona with my wife and will stay here.

Poor standard accommodationWhilst the hotel is very near the Placa de Catalunya and La Rambla, I was given a rather unfriendly welcome and give a key with no option of a porter. On entering the room, I intially noticed a chunk of plaster missing from the wall and a cigarette burn on the top sheet. I was in a room overlooking the road thinking initially that it was good to be part of a bustling city, however this was not appealing when I was awakened by passing partygoers shouting out and then kept awake until 5am by constant traffic roaring past. I also checked out the mini bar which I was lead to believe was free and arriving fairly late was looking forward to having a nightcap however all that was in the bar were six 330ml bottles of water. The following morning I asked to change rooms as I had had a very broken night's sleep. There were no apologies and I was told that fortunately there was one room available. This room was slightly better but still noisy as no rooms appeared to have soundproofing. I do not understand how this hotel had achieved a four star status. I would certainly advise anybody to check all other options before agreeing to stay at this hotel.

This is a cute boutique hotel with amazing staff and in a great location. I cannot say enough about the staff. The housekeeping was great and the views from the rooms were fantastic. We stayed for 8 nights and they upgraded our room to the top floor with a private balcony. I would really recommend the 8th floor. Location: right near Barcelona Cathedral and b/t two metro stops. 5 min walk to the main plaza, but worth being away from the constant traffic. Restaurant next door and those just blocks away were fantastic!! We would going back!

The hotel is in an ideal location only 5 mins walk from La Rambla. It was quite basic, good value for money and the hotel staff are very friendly and willing to help. It would have been nice if there tea/coffee making facilities in the room.

There's no tea or coffee facilities in the rooms and room service finishes at 10:00 pm. All that's on the room service menu are drinks or they can phone you a pizza. Not at all what I'd expect from a 4* hotel. And with no breakfast in the price, which are very expensive, you're not getting a lot for your money.The communal areas of the hotel were very trendy and modern, but this was not reflected in the rooms. When we arrived a towel was dirty and a pillow case had what appeared to be chewing gum stuck to it. And also there was a dirty bra left in the wardrobe.We were given a street facing room which had no sound dampening. The street was very loud all through the night, with heavy traffic and it was impossible to sleep.The staff were very helpful though and changed our room the day after even though we had missed the deadline for a room swap.The best things about this hotel were the staff who were always very polite and helpful, and the central location. It's within walking distance of just about everything and has a taxi rank almost right outside the front door.

Rooms were very small, in fact I think our Cabin on the cruise was bigger. We stayed two nights, received clean towels but not sheets and trash cans were not emptied. If there was a Mini- bar they forgot our room.

Modern hotel in good location, although it is situated on a very busy road. Virtually across the street from the Cathedral and a few minutes walk from Ramblas and Plaza Catalunya. Taxi rank 50 yards from Hotel. One thing to note. Laterooms page shows check-in and check-out at 10a.m. This is not so. Check-in time is 2p.m. so we were quite disappointed as we selected this Hotel due to early arrival in Barcelona.

The hotel was in a great location, close to La Rambla and the Marina. There are two stops on the official tour bus close to the hotel. There is a cute pub about two doors down from the hotel. The rooms are very very small. We had windows which looked out to the attached buildings. we were able to hear whats going on in the hallway but I didn't hear the guests in the rooms next to ours. I would probably not stay here again but it wasn't a bad experience.
