Stayed here for one night and just booked for another stay. Great location, great price and bed would easily sleep 2 (standard room). Didn't eat there but having eventually found it (not very well signposted at all)just head for the glass building! Managed to park straight away (Saturday) and no extra charge - so whether they've improved this facility now judging from other comments. Hopefully 2nd stay will be just as good.

PLUS POINTS = if your looking for a room thats in the centre of Birmingham, this hotel fits the bill. didn't eat in the hotel so can't comment on the food, but my room was very clean & comfortable at a reasnable price (£35 Saturday). BAD POINTS = little tricky locating the exact location of the hotel & 85p for a pack of Walkers crisps. 8/10

Nice hotel....however lots of BUTS..The conference centre is nice and was a pleasent stay. But what was supposed to be a reasonably cheap stay ending up costing a lot more. There are no parking facilities the nearest is a NCP carpark that charges £10 overnight which is about half a mile down the road. 2 cars staying over 24hrs ended up costing £40. The conference centre took around 45mins driving around to find it but is right next to the uni. The bar was shut before 11pm which is bad for a hotel and the pool is only open for a couple of hours a day in the most unusual times. Earlyish checkout too of 9.30. Rooms are clean and tidy. Staff helpful. Wouldn't recommnd staying here if your driving as you stay in the crowne plaza just down the road for a better price.

Good value for money.Accommodation clean and had everything we needed. Rooms were rather hot but a fan was provided. Would have preferred feather pillows to fibre. Hot water temperature was scolding so had to be very careful. Lounge areas were spacious and comfortable as was dining area. Superb value for money and in great location for our needs.

Excellent accommodation if you need something affordable - for business or conference needs. Very friendly staff. Excellent food. All facilities on site, so you feel very safe.

Convenient but expensiveThe print-out for the rooms had a completely different price on to that I paid and a breakfast crept in from somewhere. The check-in staff blamed the system, but I could have made a real fuss as there was an implication that I had been overcharged when I booked on-line. I ended up using 3 car parks in total and the building was circled by traffic wardens - I saw someone from the BBC get a ticket when they went in to get some equipment that had been left there. The service in the bar was pretty poor. The food I ordered with my kids turned up at different times and we never did get the roll for the soup even after asking several times. That said the place is safe, convenient for central Birmingham but in my opinion was way over-priced.

Was a nice stay, not as good as previously visited. Was a nice stay but a few things let it down this time round. The room was a bit noisy as we stoped in the older part of the Hotel next to air con vents so this made it very noisy. Some kind of machine did start going at around 4.30 am keeping us awake for 45 minutes. plus there was no air con in the room we were stopping in making it very hot, so realy we was caught between being hot all night or having the windows open listening to a constant buzzing noise. We would stop again but only if we can confirm a night in the newer part of the building.

Astom Conference CentreVery friendly staff, and a lovely hotel situated in the heart of Birmingham - within easy reach of all facilities and amneities as well as city-centre venues... very clean, unfussy and very modern... and of course, very comfortable...

Excellent ChoiceWell located, clean, convenient and excellent value for money. We would certainly stay here again. The rooms are simple, but clean and contained everything a weekend traveller needs. Breakfast is pricey and I would recommend that you don't order breakfast but walk across the road and buy a breakfast at Starbucks, Nero or Costa.

It was all that was available, but...A very good hotel! I'd stopped in one of their superior rooms previously, but opted for a standard room for a lower cost. Customer service was fine, and staff were easy to deal with. The room was very clean and comfortable. Bad points were the noise from the corridor, and thick yet poorly-fitted curtains, meaning sunlight got past them in the early hours of the morning.

Wish I'd Found it Earlier, Not Bad At All!This is a great place to stay in the heart of Birmingham. The room I stayed in was clean & tidy & I loved the extra provision of spring water, biscuits & herbal teas, something more famous hotels have now stopped offering.

Car ParkingArrived at the hotel which is actually on the university campus at 5:30pm and was not allowed to park until 6pm in the hotel car park. Was expected to go and park at a pay and display for 30 minutes because they would not allow me to park which i think is unacceptable.Swimming pool is not linked to the hotel it is just student swimming pool that you are allowed to use and have to ake your own towel.
