Location. Cleanliness, bathroom problems, WiFi did not work and phones did not work. Would not stay at this location again.

The hotel is kid friendly and you can hear kids in the hallway at all hours playing games and screaming. Tried to get washcloths to no avail. The rooms are in desparate need of refurbishing. The Crows nest food was the worst food we had on the whole trip. Recommend you go elsewhere

I was quoted a rate of * per night for 5 nights. When I checked in I was charged * for Friday and Saturday ,because it was the weekend. Also htere is a * per day resort fee charge which you need to be aware of and also a* security deposit that you will get back in a week to 10 days after you leave. Too many hidden charges for me.

I would have given a zero (0) but that option was not available. After checking in from a long 8 hour drive there is nothing worst than an uninviting and unfriendly check in staff. In addition to that, A nasty bug -- not a palmetto bug which are found in some areas of Myrtle Beach, was a waking surprise the next day. On top of that there were a few offensive and inappropriate actions by another guest of the hotel. But once bug was found we knew it was time to go. We expressed our concerns with or dissatisfaction - management charged us an extra day because we wanted to check out immediately (at this time it was around 2pm) when we woke to find a nasty bug in the bed - naturally most would not want to stay. we spoke to two managers ( who were not very sympathetic with our situation and totally disregarded our total satisfaction - and even charged us for that day and we didn’t even stay. I deserved a full refund and they were trying their best to get more money out of us even as we were leaving - unbelievable. I would not suggest staying here to anyone. People who own at this resort will try to sell you the idea because they are stuck with it - but if you really want a nice resort stay at the north end. that's what we ended up doing. Even a few members of the staff informed us of some of the issues with people running the place. What an inconvenience to have try to find another hotel during 4th of July week - but it was worth it to get away from Compass Cove. Overall, rooms not clean, staff is not welcoming, and parking is horrible - if you have a nice car - you are better off parking on the highway than in their garage - that's if u can find a space. do you and your family a favor - if you want to enjoy your family vacation - find another resort. A vacation should be relaxing, comfortable not stressful. I wont begin to reveal how they screwed up my credit and bank account. they actually charged me another full account to my card when we checked out by mistake - and I guess when they realized that error they immediately issued a credit for the second charge - when they were supposed to be refunding my money - is that crazy?

A great hotel. We first stayed there a year ago and got charged a 15+/- resort fee. Not this time. We had an oceanfront suite in December for 60 and change. The view was great. Excellent front desk service. They were very courteous. Pools are awesome!! Overall this Hotel is excellent and we are planning to go back this Christmas weekend!!

My husband and I stayed here for an anniversary weekeend, (9/2007) what a mistake.. We managed to check in before the lines got out the door into the parking lots, however the staff was really slow and it took them quite awhile. Our personal experiance happened on the morning after we checked in (day 1) we were awakened at 7:00 am with housekeeping standing at the foot of the bed no call no knock no warning, scared the fools out of us, My husband is a deputy sheriff and called down imeadiately to tell the GM that was a really good way to get his housekeeper hurt the GM didn't seem to think it was much of a issue. After that we elected to leave our vacation that same day after we went three rounds about getting a refund for the remaining nights (which they were not trying to have any part of) AVOID the drama and pick somewhere else you will be glad that you did

Never in many years of travel have I experienced such an unprofessional and inefficient check in to a hotel. We selected Compass Cove based on the many amenities they advertise for children. The line was so long guests were waiting in the parking lot while two staff personnel were attending to the front desk. Upon check in we were advised that our room would not be ready for about 90 minutes and to come back then for the key. We returned two hours later and when asked if we could proceed to the desk since were were already checked in were told 'no you have to get in line with everyone else.' After another 45 minute wait, we proceeded to our room which had not been cleaned. The previous guests sheets were still on the bed and the housekeeper was attending to another room on our floor. When I opened the refrigerator, water came gushing out creating a mess in the kitchen area. There were only two chairs in the room which was most inconvenient since we traveled with two small children and had planned to take some of our meals in our room. The first day we were supplied with a dish cloth and a dish towel which the maid removed on the second day and did not replace for the rest of our stay. Our attempt to obtain kitchen supplies was in vain since the phone line to the front desk was always busy. Myrtle Beach has always been one of our favorite destinations for a shore vacation and we will definitely return but stay at a resort we previously visited. This was the first time we traveled with our grandchildren to Myrtle Beach, hence our choice for what we thought to be a more child-oriented hotel.

Overall, I was very impressed with this hotel. The only thing that I did not like and you really could not complain about, is the front door was not a real good sound barrier to outside noise.

the hotel was crowded (expected for august), but overall, the staff did an excellent job of keeping all areas clean. the location was great for proximity to everything and staff were helpful and overly courteous. the rooms were furnished nicely and housekeeping did a great job every day, promptly.

We absolutely love going to this hotel. The staff is very helpful, polite and they always greet you with a hello. They assisted us in making reservation for whatever we chose to do (mostly tee times) and we were never disappointed. The rooms are clean and the housekeeping staff is pretty flexible in servicing you, they will come back later if you request. The pools and hot tubs were clean everytime we used them and there were always towels available for us to use. Major plus was there were plenty of TV channels to choose from, they do not just supply boring channels so you will buy the HBO movies or the Nintendo games. There are many styles of rooms so be sure you book exactly what you want, you can only change your room type through travel agency.

Clean. Needed to be updated. The bed was hard and we didn't get very much sleep. We got a private balcony overlooking a swimming pool.

When you go to the Compass Cove website, everything looks great. It fails to mention much of the area is undergoing renovation, there is a mandatory 100 deposit on top of your reservation and little of anything is on in the Nov - Dec months. I was going with the hops of relaxing and unwinding. The weather was amazing and I wanted to be outside, the noise from the renovation was highly annoying, the hot tub was off and freezing with nothing posted to explain so. All of the vending machines were emptied with the assumption that the being off season, maybe no one would want something to drink. There was also no security in parking or access to the building, anyone could just walk up and get to the rooms. Also the appliances and room in general were in poor condition and definitely not worth the price unless you have a decent coupon. Maybe when everything is done and the season has started back up things will be much better, but I would not recommend this place as a winter get-a-way.

The view. Everything else. The room was not cleaned properly, there was hair all over the bathroom, the ceiling was falling apart, out room key did not let us in, the pool and Jacuzzi are was a mess. Neighbors were extremely loud at all hours of the night and security and hotel did little to solve the issue. Not romantic, my wife was not happy for our anniversary.

Great rooms. Nothing I didn't like. A lot of amenities for people of all ages.

The rooms were beautiful and well kept just like the pictures. The unwanted cockroach in the bathroom. This hotel was great. I loved everything about it. It was very clean and accommodated all our needs. The location was great, and there was plenty of pools to choose from. The only negative about the entire stay at this hotel was finding Filbert. But who knows, maybe we brought him in from outside or something. No other bugs were seen. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay here again.

It was very nice. The staff was very helpful with everything we needed. That you can't check in until 3 but have to be out by 11 on check out day, doesn't seem right if you ask me. Everything was very nice. The staff did a great job with everything. AnythingI ask for they would have it there within reasonable time. The only thing, once again, I didn't like was check in at 3pm and check out at 11am.

Enough beds for four people to have their own bed. Lots of pools. Bathroom needs to be remodeled. There are lots of water features for children to have plenty of space to play. Rooms are not bad.
