Comfort Suites North Padre Island was a classy place to stay. Granite counters, tile floors, thick mattresses, extra pillows, and a sitting area provided an upscale setting for a grand view of the coastal waters. The breakfast buffet was a step up with choices of hot and cold items including breakfast meats and omelets. The staff was cheerful in answering our questions and assisting us with recommendations for places to visit and restaurant choices. The laundry facilities were appreciated and the swimming pool included a hot tub and waterfall. This hotel was the favorite of all we stayed in on our vacation.

Just a short walk (about a short city block) to the beach! This property was a pleasant surprise. It more than met our expectations and we will plan another stay!

Room was nice, especially for the money. The bed was a little soft but I didn't mind too much. My only complaint is that the floors/ceilings must be thin; about 3:30 in the morning, I awoke to hearing my upstairs neighbors walking around.

There were bugs in our room. We were told they didnot have any other available rooms. We had to stay in dirty room and were only compensated 40.00. We were moved to a new room the next day;however, room was not much cleaner but thankfully it didnot have bugs in it. Contacted front desk did not seem to care. Our car was broken into during our stay. We were parked near the security camera but staff could not review camera because manager was not on duty the whole time during our staff. I contacted manager about our stay via telephone. She sent me an e-mail stating her staff was trained effeciently and provided a satisfactory stay. The breakfast was okay. Do not stay at this hotel if you expect effecient customer service and clean rooms.

The Comfort Suites on Padre Island is one of the closest hotels to the National Seashore. The room was attractively decorated and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The hot breakfast buffet was an unexpected bonus: omelets, waffles (in the shape of the state of Texas!), sausage, and for the less hearty appetites - cereals, pastries, fruit and yogurt. The entire staff was exceptionally friendly. The only negative thing to say is that the clothes rack in our closet pulled out of the wall (with only a pair of jeans hanging on it). Don't expect to walk anywhere for dinner, although there is one restaurant (newly opened?) about half mile away. But if you're heading for the beach or birding in the National Seashore, it's only a 20 minute drive and you won't find any better hotel on the island.

Comfortable bed. There were roaches in the room and the hotel staff did not try to compensate is in any way. They said is was a natural occurrence. Nice in appearance and close to the beach, but staff was not friendly. When problems were mentioned, the staff ignored the concerns and spoke of the problems as if they were typical and minor flaws.

Location was great. Quiet area with only a walk across the road to the nearest beach. Usually a suite is more than a room with a half wall divider. If I had known exaxcty how small the suite was I would have upgraded to something larger. Diffently think about that if travelling with 2 kids. There is not enough rom for them to spread out. Four people are a tight fit!

Great rooms, friendly staff, in walking distance from beach. Pool was dirty. Iwould absolutely stay here again.A wonderful hotel.

Very good experience! Room was clean and roomy! Proximity to beach was excellent! Bed was very comfortable! Great bathroom w/ huge 2 person shower! Breakfast was great with plenty of choices! Hotel staff was kind and helpful! Elevator was a little slow {only 1 for all four floors} but stairs were easy! Will stay again if in the vicinity!

We enjoyed the breakfast. However there was not enough room for the guest to eat. We were let to believe that this hotel was on the beach at North Padre Island. In actuality it was across the street from the beach. This hotel - Comfort Suites, North Padre Island, Corpus Christi - is very nice and clean. It does not smell of mildew. This is remarkable considering that it is across the road from the beach. (Across the road, on the beach, the Holiday Inn-Sun Spree Resort, does smell of mildew.) It is very close to beach access point.

Loved the location - loved the suite - loved the bed - loved the breakfast. Morning staff were not very friendly. Would definitely stay here again. Morning staff at front desk and in the breakfast area need to put a smile on their face.

The hotel is fairly new to the area. Not on the beach but across the street with easy access. The rooms were comfortable and very clean. Plenty of space even with 2 teenagers, the sofabed made it easier tor them to stretch out. Breakfast was good, waffles, eggs and bacon or sausage. Pool and hot tub are small but did not use much as we were on the baech all day. Staff was helpful and very courteous. Would recommend property to families.

Great location and good breakfast. Toilet paper holder kept coming loose. Thought I was paying for location, very pleased to find out we got a large, clean room as well.

After reading traveler reviews, taking virtual tours, and weighing hotel amenities, I finally decided the Comfort Suites was the place to stay on North Padre Island. We paid a bit more to be at the hotel versus others in the area during our 4-night stay, and in the end, I can honestly say that I wouldn't stay there again for the same price ($149-159 per night). Our ocean view room was nice, but of course, partially obstructed by the Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort across the street. The location was close to the beach, which was covered in plankton but uncrowded and overall wonderfully relaxing. But the hotel was nothing special... The "double-pillow top" beds were comfortable enough, but not because they were high quality matresses (the second pillow-top was due to a thick mattress pad). We had a battle with a cockroach the last night of our stay, which emerged from the "fresh" pile of towels in our bathroom; note that cockroaches should probably be expected in any beach town. The continental breakfast was convenient, but all four mornings we were there, the fruit was wilted and brusied; also, the breakfast was without easy/extra options such as peanut butter, oatmeal or any variety of beverages (hot chocolate, teas, etc)... Also, the small pool looked nice with its fountains, but it was freezing (it may seem like the Texas heat would do the job, but that wasn't the case). And the fitness room equipment was not at all impressive either, with just two treadmills and a bike. If I was going to do the "beach vacation" all over again, I would traverse the extra 30 miles north to Port Aransas, which (I discovered late in our vacation) has many full-service beachfront resorts and also much cleaner beaches.

The suite was tastefully decorated. The elevator was slow, the staff seemed like they were college dorm R.A.'s. Too many friends in the evening while working. The pool is actually in the parking lot. The garbage bin was finally emptied by an extremely large and noisy BFI truck. The suite was very nice. If you plan to use the kitchenette, it isn't stocked with anything. We only used the microwave and refrigerator. They were useful. We didn't need the dishwasher because there weren't any dishes to wash, or the oven because they didn't provide necessities. The bathroom was huge and the towels were whimsically folded, a nice touch. The morning breakfast lady was professional, friendly and very hard working.

3 star hotel for great price. Very clean & new!! Comfortable Pillow-top mattress and nice rooms with microwave, mini-fridge, hairdryer, etc, as advertised. Only draw back is fitness room (2 treadmills and 1 stationary bike). Walk or drive to beach. Already planning my next trip to Padre and will definately stay here!!

The beds were awesome! Excellent! Everything exceeded expectations. The hotel is across from the beach, clean, nicely decorated and fabulous rooms. The beds were very comfortable. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

The hotel was clean, comfortable, and within walking distance from the beach. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I will choose this hotel everytime I go to Padre due to price, location, cleaniless, and comfort.

The hotel was beautiful, friendly, had great continental breakfast and next to the beach! We were genuinely surprised by how nice these suites were. Lots of room, very nicely decorated, had all the amenities for staying longer (we only stayed one night). We will definitely recommend these suites to others we know, and we'll probably stay there again, too!
