Date of Stay: October, 2008

The blankets had what looked like cigarette burns and it was just nasty. The front desk was already starting to babble about something and my wife cut him off and told him he was a liar and didn't want to hear anything more come out of his mouth. She rolled that disgusting thing into the room and I was dumbfounded by how horrible that thing was! Then came the clincher.....we pulled back one of the covers to get into bed and the bed was never cleaned before we got in the room! That grossed us out and we ended up sleeping on top of the covers.

Nothing. Awful location. Room and no facilities. A most unpleasant experience awaits the unwitting traveler. This hotel feels dated and shabby. The location is in an industrial and low rent neighborhood. I would not recommend going out for a stroll in the evening or at midday for that matter. No restaurants are really nearby either, fast food could be an option. Room had poor sound insulation and was difficult to sleep in, could have done with a clean too. Way overpriced for what it was. Stay away.

1. This hotel is on the outskirts of town. (A taxi cost $19 at 1am) 2. I was strongly advised by the taxi driver that the area was not safe. (There was a security guard sitting at the table when I arrived late) 3. The sheets were not washed, and I found a few little things to evidence this. 4. The shuttle service provided was a joke, and only after asking twice, did they finally take me to the station. 5. Breakfast was disgraceful and could not be described as real food. Go to a drive through on your way out. 6. The hotel was quiet.

Very clean and very affordable, great for family and business trips. Great room had a king size bed with sofa, very roomy, would recommend hotel for anyone working in NY City that doesn't want to stay in the City. Very clean and staff was very friendly and willing to help with anything I needed.

Mattresses were worn Air Conditioner did not properly cool the room and staff seemed reluctant to address the situation. Complimentary Breakfast was Satisfactory. Convenient to downtown Newark.

I liked the maid service. The room could've been update and cleaner. Overall the hotel was very nice, but my room had several imperfections,maybe with extra cleaning I wouldn't have notice it. The bedding needed to be updated, my bed spread looked old.

Just came back today from my stay here. It was awful. First, I was born and raised in the ghetto so I don't get disappointed too easily, but this place was 'too' ghetto even for me. I did not dare leave the hotel property. Now here is where the excitement begins. Once inside the hotel, it is descent. Once in the room, it was ok. Nice room. Dropped my stuff down, changed, and left. Came back, put my stuff away and about to go to bed, so i pull the covers and guess what was on the sheets??? Yes a stain, what stain you ask, FECES stain!!!! The maid must have needed to leave in a hurry before we came into the room and MADE THE BED WITH FECES ON IT. IT REEKED!!! BIG STAIN!! 10 pm, had to go to the front desk. Made the receptionist come up and SMELL IT!!! He apologized and even he couldn't believe it. Changed rooms, needless to say I was out of there by 8 am the next morning. Did not trust the place anymore, If the maid could do that, imagine the cook at the restaurant. Awful experience.

I stayed at this hotel 4 years ago when it was fairly new. They are not properly maintaining a nice facility. There are odors - not strong, but you can tell carpet and surfaces are not being regulary cleaned and disinfected. The carpet looks worn and walls and doors are a bit banged up. The desk staff person, while competent, seemed disinterested and unfriendly. He was the only staff person visibly on duty. This is a shame, because this could be a quality facility at a very affordable rate near NYC.

1 double bed; good breakfast; exceeded expectations. Comforters didn't look fresh. Overall, I was pleased. The comforters didn't look clean and fresh so I didn't use them but the linen was OK. The rooms are spacious with a king a double, microwave and coffee maker. Well, I forgot my toothpaste but decided to ask anyway. They had little packets of toothpastes. I was pleasantly surprised.

nice large room or the money. stayed for a quick night checked in around 11PM and there was no problem locating my reservation. i didn't care about the location which is what appeared to be a scary industrial area since i was driving and planned on driving to new york city. the free breakfast was all you can eat and it was off the hook. So if you re planning on just driving in to the hotel to crash this a good buy. for access to NYC via POV there was no sweat about 20min with no traffic. i didn't hear any jet noise either from the nearby airport.

We were asked to make up our own beds, our suite was NOT a suite, our third bed was a small couch that would not hold the weight of a 12 year old child. There was only ONE person at the phone and check in counter - thus either no one answered the phone OR you had to wait long periods of time to ask a question (such as may I please have another towel). I would definitely NOT recommend this hotel.

The room looks, roomy, two beds, a king and a double size beds. The TV does not offer closed caption since I am a deaf person. It beyond my expectation for its price. Only one thing bad is no closed captions on TVs or the deaf people. If you are deaf and who love to watch TV - do not recommend to stay this place.

Don't listen to those reviewers who give this place a bad name! It was the best place we stayed on our 3 week trip back east. Location isn't the best, but better than listening to airplanes all night. I chose Comfort Suites because of location to the PATH station to NYC. Lobby was clean, neat, new looking. Rooms were large and beds were very comfortable. They also had the best breakfasts by far. I never felt scared or uneasy about the location at all. This is a great hotel for the money!

When I booked a room at this hotel I was not sure, but when I reached the hotel and checed-in my room, my family and I were quite pleased to see a nice, clean, and cool room. For the price they offered free breakfast as well and had a nice selection of items for breakfast. I definitely recommend this place in and around Newark.

All necessities were met, comfort, breakfast, fast check out. Beds had no comfort appeal. Stayed at this hotel in June, because of friendly staff and cleanliness, although there was no pool. This experience was not as inviting, although rooms were clean.

The neighborhood was a bit scary-lots of people walking around and loitering. Our room's floor was dirty and the beds literally had been slept on top of. The staff kindly gave us another room but 5 min after we walked in we could hear the neighbors conversation and tv- tissue paper walls. We were outta there.

The bed was so comfortable! I loved everything. Great location to a Church I was attending (3 miles away). Easily accessible! Facility was brand new! The room was great and the bed was heavenly soft and comfortable.

The area around the hotel is a bit rough... but the hotel was nice. Our room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good and we where able to take the train into NYC. Would stay again.
