The staff was extremely accommodating and friendly although, for some reason, the maids neglected the vacuum for several days until we complained of the problem to the management. The breakfast was excellent. The plumbing and other physical fixtures are aging and need repair/updating. The elevator which is essential because the stairs are difficult to locate carries a certificate that it is inspected by the "Department of Elevators and Amusement Rides" (seriously!)--it goes s l o w l y, jerks and makes all kinds of strange noises and the floor tiles are coming loose. If you stay here you are definitely paying for location because the hotel is on a par with venues that charge $50 per night less in other locations.

Restaurant/Bar across the street. Manager with a major attitude against travelers and employees. Manager was very rude at attempted early checkin at 1:15PM citing checkin was at 3 and not before. I didn't want to go back, so wife went back at 2:45 and employee was checking her in when manager smartly asked, "Are you sure you want to do that?" Thank God the employee stood up and did what was right for traveler. Also heard others complain about manager in elevator.

The hotel itself was not bad but they failed to clean my room for two days. They did not give us towels. They had several signs up about conservation but the truth is that they did not want to have to clean the room or do any real work. The attitude of the night person on duty was that it was my fault that they did not clean the room. She said that we had to have the room cleaned between 9am and 12 noon because that is when the maid was available. The manager did apologize for the lack of cleaning and refunded my room for the two days that they did not clean. Online Travel Website stepped in and handled everything for me. They offered to make me a new reservation at another hotel but we decided to stay with family at this point. It might not have been such a bad deal if it was not the week of Christmas. I won't stay there again definitely!

The hotel was close to the beach and shopping areas and many other attractions.

Friendliness of staff was great & the location was perfect for us. Noisy family in the room above us so the floor & ceilings could be somewhat thin. Great location for doing things in downtown Charleston & Isle of Palms. We will certainly stay here again.

Very clean, lots of extras like ceiling fan, mini kitchen that's perfect for travel, breakfast buffet, shopping close enough to walk, nice area near for walking, 5 minutes from beach, Location and price couldn't be better !!

We went to the Isle of Palms beach which was lovely and walked around the city of Charleston while there. Our room was large which was nice however it was moldy/musty smelling and the furnishings were outdated with stained and dirty carpet. The walls were in poor condition and needed drywall work and a paint job. The staff could have been more professional and accomodating. The breakfast was large and pretty good although they ran out of food and there was not enough tables to accomodate all of the guests at breakfast.

Front desk staff was very friendly!! Little hard to find, since it sits back off the street. We enjoyed ourselves and would certainly recommend to others.

My fiance and I took a trip down to Charleston for the weekend and stayed at this hotel, due to its price and the reviews we read. The name of the hotel is misleading, it's not actually on Isle of Palms. The location is still good, though. Right near a major shopping area with plenty of restaurants in Mt. Pleasant. The rooms were great (very spacious with sitting area, kitchen, and decent bathroom), the service was good, and the price wasn't bad for the quality of the stay. I would recommend this to anyone who's spending a couple of days in the Charleston area.

We arrived at 1pm and the clerk said the room would not be ready for another 1.5 hrs. We came back at 430p and the clerk had to get on the radio and find out if the rooms were clean yet. We finally got in the room 45 mins later. We had a suite for 6 but only had linens for 4. After getting all settled, it was a clean and comfortable room. The clerk was great on giving us an inside track on a local seafood resturant (Gilligans) that was wonderful. The FREE deluxe breakfast was tasty as well, especially for a fixed budget. Overall, it was worth the rate and wait.

Breakfast was fantastic! Front desk personnel are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was wonderful - waffles and eggs, not just juice and donuts. Room was spacious and comfortable. We slept great! Hotel has kind of a weird setting - in a shopping center? But it is close to the beach and very convenient to places to eat.

We had planned to spend five nights there, but upon entering the room we canceled our stay. The carpet had lots of stains, the wallpaper was coming off the wall, and the bed ding did not look clean. It did not look like the pictures on the website. We asked for another room, but there was only one room left which had a heater not working.

The initial room was not clean and the AC unit wasn't working properly. They moved us to a different room and everything was fine.

I booked this hotel to be close to the city & the beach, & loved it! The hotel is in the middle of all of the amenities in Mt. Pleasant & it was only about 15-20 minutes from N.Charleston, so it was easy to get around. The staff was very helpful, & only prob was that some of the rooms that on one side of the building do not have a good wireless Internet connection, so you get to go to the lobby in order to get a strong enough Internet connection.Other than that, breakfast was great, and room was clean & spacious. Very good deal!!

We used the hotel as a base to visit the beach and downtown Charleston. The handle on our door was half off. The first day housekeeping showed up around 10am. We had just gotten back from breakfast and did not need housekeeping at that time. The second day we returned from the beach around 12:30pm and housekeeping had not been to the room. We needed clean towels and had to go hunt housekeeping down. One day housekeeping turned up and asked if we needed any service. I said we needed clean towels and the trash cans emptied. The housekeeper returned with clean bath towels and that was it. I had to ask for clean face towels and wash cloths. She informed me she would be back later with them as they were still in the dryers. All in all I expected better from Comfort Inns.

It was in a great location, close to the beach and restaurants. The room was not sound proof. We could hear people in the halls, next door and outside. We chose this hotel because of the location and price. For the most part, the room was. The air conditioner was the so loud when it came on that you had to adjust the volume on the TV to hear it. When the air conditioner wasn't on. We could hear the person in the room next door, people in the halls and people in front of the building. Both made for poor sleeping. There was not enough room to accommodate the crowd at breakfast and the food was very bland. There were also problems with the elevator. We ended up taking the stairs because it was faster. The staff was friendly enough and happy to help. I've stayed at Comfort Suites before and been pleased but this one fell short of our expectations.

The location gave us easy access to the Isle of Palms and downtown Charleston as well as Fort Sumpter and Fort Moultrie.

Good variety of items for breakfast. Room was not clean, carpet needed replacing, saw bugs in hotel, room smelled. The lobby and grounds looked good and the staff was friendly and helpful. The room was not properly cleaned. There was mold around the tub fixtures, the room smelled musty and the carpet was old and dirty. One of the first things we saw when we entered the hotel was a huge cockroach climbing up a room door. We then went to a nearby grocery and bought roach spray to use.

Checkin was on schedule. The room was better than advertised. The staff was pleasant and very helpful with suggestions on sites in the community
