This hotel is located close to the fabulous Waupaca Chain of Lakes. I liked the fact that it was maybe just over a mile from the Clear Water Harbor Bar.... the best restaurant on the Chain. Also provided easy access to the Energy Fair in Custer, WI.

Location to the activities desired and golf were great. Room was dirty, cob webs, hair in the shower, glass rings on the table. It feels very neglected. The pool and the entire pool area needs a good bleach cleaning. The hotel itself was very hot and uncomfortable. The staff was friendly, however, the experience overall will not bring me back.

You sign a commitment that if you smoke, bring in a pet or trash the room, a * charge will be made to your credit card. There is only one elevator - across from the front desk. These are indications to me that mangement plans to stay in control - a good thing. Clean, nice bed, fridge, microwave, safe, iron, ironing board, hair dryer, an excellent air conditioner, the ability to open the windows. In general I would say this is a good deal. HOWEVER, I suffer from claustrophobia and the colors were WAY too dark for me - made the room (except bathroom) seem cavelike. For that reason alone, I could not stay there again. But if you don't need light and bright, it's a nice place. Ask for a north facing room. South rooms face the parking lot.
