When we stayed there a couple of months ago, hallways were dark, along with our 2 rooms. Depressing, and stark. (I did complain on a survey). This time the hallways were brightly lit, along with our room, so we could actually see!! One lightbulb was out in our room, but it wasn't a problem. We did reserve a "newer" room, so perhaps it was that much better.

Wins the award for discomfort. This hotel has air conditioning units that do not work at all or just blow out mucky air (we had 3 rooms booked & ran into numerous other people with the same problem). It was humid & ugly with a distict musty odor the whole time. The one dinky elevator also had a musty, dank odor. Although the lobbey was comfortably air conditioned the rooms were impossible to sleep in & we were glad to leave when our family wedding was over (we had intended to extend a few days to tour the area a bit). We went elsewhere - I would think that since the air units are also heaters the opposite problem occurs in the winter. THIS PLACE BADLY NEEDS REFURBISHED. The hotel staff was not able to correct the problem.

View and breakfast. Old elevator. Very nice rooms, bed a bit stiff for my liking, but good. Room was very clean.

The balcony was nice, and great view of the Rideau river. Everything we needed, and a well kept room. From the outside, the building is pretty ugly, but that doesn't matter when you're inside I guess. Just what we needed. Nice and cheap in the off season, but still nice enough. Nice balcony with a great view, and sun all day in the winter, including sunset over the Rideau Canal! Room was nothing exceptional, but nothing wrong with it either. Pretty quiet in both hotel and town this time of year (winter). Nice places to eat nearby, especially the sushi place on the corner across from the hotel!

Room was nice &clean with great view. There was no anti stick spray for the waffle iron. The only complaint I had was the lack of anti stick spray for the waffle iron. The room was good, the view was nice, it smelled clean, the staff was great, the internet was a bit slow.

Nothing. Hotel manager is very unkind and rude to guests. When I left the Inn, the hotel manager asked me, I should pay extra charge, because my child age is fifteen. He said that its Inn charges extra fee for above 12 age people as adults. I said that general hotel did not charge for under 18 age as children. However he didn't agree to my saying. So, I showed him my laptop with display that children age is from 0-18. He looked at the display and got angry with me, then said 'get out'.

About the only thing we liked was the view of the water locks and boats. We found the hallways and everywhere but in our room very untidy, and dirty, very old looking with very little upkeep. The rooms were fine, clean but out on the balcony and in the hallways were dirty and unkept. The view out the front which over looked the locks and boats was nice. The restaurant was closed for good until they can find someone else to run it apparently The parking lot in the back is a scary place to leave your car or go into at night.

Nothing. Everything. I don't recommend this dive to anyone. Bathroom door didn't close. Staff very rude. Rooms dirty. They lied when they said rooms renovated. I'm ashamed, I said I even stayed there.

The only good thing about this hotel was the free Wi-Fi. There was nothing I like about this property. I would definitely not recommend this property. This hotel was a complete disappointment. It was old, extremely dated, run down and was not close to anything. I did not feel safe or clean staying there. I'm not sure how it was rated as it was, but it should definitely be 1 star. There is a Best Western approximately 1 mile away. I would recommend you stay there instead.
