My experience with staying at the Ship Creek Comfort Inn was good. I had a late check in due to the time of arrival of my plane. I stayed for 4 nights, the front desk staff was always different, but helpful and courteous. The room was clean, and the air conditioner worked well. I had a room on the first floor, facing the front of the building where there is a little traffic - but not much noise. The bathroom and shower were clean and neat. The breakfast that was provided was very limited in selection, the only fruit was a apple, and the menu only varied between two different offerings during the 4 days I was there. The wireless internet for the first 2 days was slower than a modem - not sure why - the front desk people could not explain or help - I talked with other people who were using their laptops and they also experience the same slow & dropping internet problem. Just be aware that there are no wall connections, just wireless - the last 2 days the internet was reliable and fast - so what's the deal? Trying to find the place was a bit hard, I was driving around and by chance saw the property below a bridge (lucky I previewed the property on the internet), I made a couple of wrong turns, but finally made it there (be aware that there are alot of one way streets in Anchorage). In summary - PROS: Clean, Quiet, Nice staff, no smoke smell, next to river walk, breakfast (kind of). CONS: Pricey, Breakfast (more fruit, better selections), Slow and intermittent internet.

The hotel experience was not great..It was hot the entire time, even after having the staff assist us 3 times. The screen in the window was missing so opening the window allowed poor security. The management allowed someone to charge their RV by having an extension cord through the window at the outside door, totally defeating the purpose of the key entry door for security. The bathroom had a musty odor, the sink was cracked. The electrical wall outlet covers fell off every time we unplugged something. The fire alarm went off many times on 3 differrent days. There must have been heavy smokers in the smoking rooms, as the smell was always in the hallway. We had the do not disturb sign on the door and the maid kept knockingon two different days. The staff was pleasant but unable to fix our issues. The beds were decent.

We were pleasantly surprised. Whether there for business or pleasure it should provide a pleasant experience. We would stay again.

Lobby was appealing. Did not feel safe. Too noisy, items werenot working properly. Heard train whistles all night. Window on lower level had no screen and was unlocked. The sink in our room was plugged. Was not pleased with this hotel. Would not recommend it.

I did not know what to expect, because this hotel was not here the last time I was in Anchorage and Ship Creek is not exactly the happening place in Anchorage. However, I was very surprised at the quality. The lobby was nice. Complimentary breakfast was great. The rates was decent for the time of year. The hotel was clean. And I loved the PayPer View in the room. I did have a run in with one of the front desk staff, but another staffer took care of my problem so I did not let that ruin my opinion. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a place to stay.

The hotel was nice, clean and the staff were great. The only disappointment I had was that the pool was closed and everytime I wanted to use the hotel guest computer is was occupied. They should add a second and third computer for guests.

Nice guest laundry facility. Parking lot was packed snow and ice, making it dangerous to walk especially for people with disabilities.

My wife and i recently stayed at this hotel for a (get away) hopeing for a nice quite evening from home and children. I had reserched the hotel and its reveiws needless to say i was very dissapointed. it was like staying at a 1 star hotel with an fancy lobby! The room was run down and discustingly dirty., wall paper was hanging off the wall in places ,the baseboard heat register was half hanging off the wall, and the carpet was stained and musty smelling. There were people literly running up and down the halls all night long. I don't think that either my wife or I slept more than a couple hours total. I will not be staying there again and hope that more people read this so they don't end up as dissapointed as us.

Friendly, the airport shuttle was prompt. Our room was clean and comfortable. Had to walk through construction to get downtown, but not a problem. I will stay here again. The staff was friendly from start to finish. It is close enough to walk down, and the shuttle to the airport was great! I over heard the driver offering to drop off other guests at a near by meeting place. I will recommend this hotel to friends and family.

The motel was exceptional. Rooms were large, clean and furnished well. Conteniental breakfast was vey good and had an excellent choice of foods. The courtesy van also was a plus! Staff was very friendly and responsive to questions and requests.

The bed was comfortable, and the motel was quite, was about to sleep soundly. It was hard to regulate the heat in the round, to hot have to crack the window for a little while to let it cool down. Overall the motel was good; the room was open with large comfortable beds. Was quite in the halls and outside, it could be the time of year that we stayed. I was not impressed with the continental breakfast, looked like employees did not have pride in the way it was presented, just didn't look fresh. Also it was hard to adjust the heat control so the so the room was to hot.

"We had fun watching the fishing derby in Shipp Creek. The adjacent restaurant was great, the Ulu knife factory next door was interesting close to the downtown shopping. I would definately stay here again"

Nice comfortable room, clean facility overall. No ashtray in smoking room none provided when asked about ashtrays. Overall nice room, refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker in room as well as an iron and ironing board. Local television and small assortment of cable channels at no cost, special movies not on DVD or still in theaters at seemingly high prices 15.00 each. Downtown location, very close to train depot (yes you hear train horns throughout your stay.) Right on ship creek in anchorage, easy walk to shopping.

"Don't stay anywhere else in Anchorage, especially if you are riding the train. It is a short walk from to the train station. The shuttle was very timely from the airport and getting all our luggage to the train deport. This shuttle driver runs an on time operation. Continental breakfast was more than ample and the hotel was very clean. I never heard the train whistles."

The location was good, and parking was free. Walls were paper-thin. Very noisy. Hallway carpet not clean. We stayed three nights at the Comfort Inn at Ship Creek, and by and large, they were sleepless nights. The walls were thin enough to hear normal conversations of people in the adjoining rooms, which kept us awake for hours each night. Housekeeping did not wipe down the mirror or empty the in-room coffee pot once during our stay. The location is good, and the front desk staff is friendly, but I would not stay there again because of the paper-thin walls.

"This is a great hotel - particulary if the salmon are funning in Ship Creek just out the back door of this hotel. We had a great time watching the fishermen catching 20-25 lb salmon. We spoke with several fishermen who explained the best times to fish for running salmon. The continental breakfasts were very complete and filling - nut just rolls and juice. I wish there would have been room darkening shades to block the midnight sun. The room was too light for a good ""night's"" sleep. "

"Great, safe location, helpful staff, clean throughout, quiet rooms, pool, fitness room, nice view of Ship Creek, free breakfast, free shuttle to and from airport, downtown, & train station; other tourist shuttles stop available right next to the hotel and great prices with military discounts. I did not have a car and got around just fine. Perfect for families! "
