Staff were friendly & welcoming. Location was good in that you were a five minute thrust in the big blue bus - bus stop right outside - down to Santa Monica pier etc. (Make sure you have 75c exact!) Decor was old and tacky. Bathroom vanity was rotting and the common area outside seemed open slather at all hours for loud American blurb conversation. Free brekkie consisted of waffles, cereal & toast but you had to fight for it. But all in all, if you wanted something cheap just to lay your head and hit the sites, it was ok.

Friendly, helpful staff. Clean hotel. Parking situation was a little crowded. Good value. Very helpful staff. A little farther from the beach than I expected.

This hotel blew all expectations out of the water, it was brilliant! The staff were so helpful, and the room was lovely. Free car parking, great breakfast, I wish we'd had time for a dip in the pool. Santa Monica Beach is just 2 miles down the road, and Beverly Hills and Hollywood not far in the other direction. Strongly recommend this hotel, and hope to return in the near future.

The room itself was small but adequate (hardly anywhere to put suitcases with two queen beds, a table and two chairs filling up most of the room). We liked the mini frig, but didn't get a microwave. Everything, including the carpet, seemed clean, the bed/pillows were comfy, and it was quiet at night. The pool was small and rather barren, but nicely warmed. The breakfast, as others noted, was nice but in a cramped room and a bit of a feeding frenzy unless you got there early. The hotel is directly on the Big Blue Bus line, which runs to UCLA to Venice Beach, passing through the Santa Monica highlights along the way -- very handy! The main issue I had with this hotel was the odd layout. Rooms were divided around two sets of open-balconied courtyards. It was a very convoluted process to navigate around to get places (we had to carry our breakfast trays out onto the street to get to/from our room). All the common areas were covered with green Astroturf, which looked cheesy but kept the noise down, I guess.

Our family of 4 had a very nice stay on the third floor of the Santa Monica Comfort Inn. The front staff was helpfull in providing a map to the beach area and giving tips on parking. You do have to drive or take a cab to the pier area... it is a little far to walk. The beds were comfortable and the room size was adequate for the 4 of us (2 adults, 2 teens). The breakfast was very good. My daughter complained that the air conditioner was too noisy for her.

I was visiting family who live nearby. I could walk to their apartment and to shopping and restaurants easily within 10 to 20 minutes. We will definitely return.

Convenient and moderate price for the area. The room had 2 double beds, fridge and microwave. Small but user friendly pool.

Got a decent price off Travelocity (120). Two beds (K&Q), both very comfortable, with lots of comfy pillows. TV stunk - poor reception. But we weren't there to watch TV. Location OK - had to drive the 20 blocks to the Pier, but didn't take long. Bathroom was adequate, and room had a little fridge and microwave, which came in handy. Best features were the free breakfast, which was pretty substantial. Make your own waffles, which the kids loved. Plus fruit, muffins, cereal, juice, and good coffee. Free parking, which is a bonus. Small, basic pool, but it was heated (maybe too much!). Area was OK - pretty commercial, but didn't seem dangerous. One piece of advice -- get a room on the top floor, preferably away from the street. Or, there is also a building of one story rooms. Our biggest complaint was we could hear every step of the people above us, who went to bed at midnight, and got up at 5 a.m. I would imagine the rooms on the street are loud as well.Overall, not a bad place for the money. I would stay again if I could get a room with no one over it!

I had a very positive experience with my 5 nights at the Comfort Inn in Santa Monica. Not only does it have a great location (only 2 miles from the Santa Monica Pier) but all staff were very friendly and helpful and the entire hotel is immaculate, including the pool area. The only ammenity that I missed was a fitness center, and it would be great if the free continental breakfast offered yogurt or breakfast items with a lower carbohydrate content!

The breakfast was good. The non-smoking room smelled funky-not fresh. The Comfort Inn Santa Monica was below the level of what I've experienced at other Comfort Inn locations, it didn't have Wi-Fi in the room, room smelled not fresh.

This motel has a great location. It is located close, but not within walking distance, of the Santa Monica Pier. There are places to eat and businesses around the hotel. Free breakfast is nice and staff is helpful and friendly

Good location; desk staff was helpful. Chipped drinking glass; dead battery in TV remote. It was ok. I will try another place the next time that I drive to Santa Monica.
