The rooms were clean, with room for improvement. My room was in the smoking section and there were cigarette burns in the blankets and chairs. The room was not cleaned daily, and the bed was not always made. The breakfast consisted of small donuts and make your own waffles. The outdoor pool was not open, despite the warm weather, and the indoor poor was very high in chlorine, as it burned our eyes. The staff (that spoke english) was friendly and knowledgeable. In all, the hotel was just a hotel. For the price, I couldn't complain. Stay here if you need a place to stay, not if you want to vacation.

Checkout-couldn't wait to leave. Everything except the woman who checked us in-she was nice. Can't wouldn't recommend.

My friends and I arrived on a Friday evening after working all day and traveling 6 hours in heavy traffic. We were assigned to a SMOKING room on a SMOKING floor. We made specific reservations for NON-SMOKING room which I had in writing with a confirmation #. When we explained to the two young men at the front desk, that 2 of our group had asthma, they were not at all interested in making things right. My friends used rescue inhalers all weekend. Obtaining alternative arrangements in October near Salem, Mass. is not an option. Usually, hotels try everything to make things right, especially when health is involved.

This hotel is okay if you only plan on sleeping in the bed. Even though there were renovations going on and I knew the fitness center and the pool would be closed and that there could be noise and disruption I was dissappointed. Not by those things though. The business center computer was unavailable. I felt somewhat unsafe when while standing in the lobby speaking to the front desk clerk about the computer a half dozen men came walking in carrying bottles of liquor and cases of beer. I commented that this must be the party hotel and the the reply was that those were the construction workers. The room was not clean. I'm not talking construction dust. I mean chunks of popcorn and debris under the in-room ventilation system and unknown gunk stuck to the floor to ceiling window. The sheets were fresh, and the room was vacuumed (in the center). The bathroom looked newly renovated with fresh paint and caulking. The toilet however, did not flush properly. Everytime the bathroom paper was pulled for use the whole roll fell off the the hanger. Check in went smoothly with a polite clerk. Perhaps this hotel isn't used to guests checking out, because someone (I assume it was a housekeeper) tried to get into my room in the morning. I yelled from the bathroom and got no reponse. Good thing I had the safety latch across the door. The morning continental breakfast was set up well and the area seemed clean. Overall, it gets two stars.

Convenient location 30 min from airport with quiet, comfortable accomodations.

It has a convenient location. Could use some cleaning. I have stayed here before and for the money and convenience to area attractions, it can't be beat. However, the chair in the room had stains on it, there was a pair of underwear sitting on the floor next to a public vending machine, and staff appeared to knowingly allow bare-footed guest walk through public food areas. I was disgusted at the thought of eating my breakfast while a large hairy man walked about the breakfast foods with no socks or shoes. This hotel may have been going for a home-away-from-home sort of feel but it was not working for me.

Came to the area for our anniversary. Staff was extremely helpful, and after making a minor booking mistake, actually upgraded our room at no additional cost. People on all shifts would help whenever asked. Room was clean, and extremely comfortable. Got see everything we came to see, including somethings in Salem that I didn't expect.

Most appreciated the staff here. Some snafus at check in, but very helpful in canceling one of our room nights and diligent in helping see a refund through (staff kept paperwork trail for more than two months after our stay when the room *still* had not been refunded by booking service). Used room mostly for sleep only--bed could have been more comfortable, but overall, the room was good size and comfortable. Location is a good mid point between downtown Boston and the North Shore area. Free breakfast bar a plus. Overall good value for the money spent.

This is a great location set off of Rt. 1, but close enough for easy access. Both the front desk staff and the cleaning staff were very accomodating to my weird schedule that weekend. Room was clean, wi-fi connection was solid, breakfast was adequate, service was excellent.

Friendliness of staff, helpfulness in arranging a room for our family to use for lunch andfree use of a computer. Only thing I didn't like was fact parking was so far from entrance. Hotel was very helpful when our family needed a place to eat together after daughter's swim meet. Gave us the breakfast room, left our grandkids use the pool even though only 2 of us were actually guests staying at motel. I also thought the rooms were spacious and comfortable; and enjoyed having a computer to use and a pool to swim in after a hard day of skiing.

I wish I would have stayed at this hotel for the two nights I was in town. I stayed at the Days Inn in Danvers the night before I found this hotel. The Days Inn was more money and a total dump, whereas the Comfort Inn in Danvers was much nicer and a better value. It sets in a quiet area. The hotel front desk people were very helpful with directions & recommendations about resturants in the area.

This hotel was conveniently located only 6 miles from Salem, Mass and it was easy to commute back and forth. The employees were friendly and helpful. The breakfast area was a little small for the amount of guests but it could have been just because of the busy holiday. (Halloween) Would like to see more rooms with two queensize instead of fullsize beds. Will use this hotel again if I return to the area.

Quietness of room. Heat controls a little diffacult to adjust. Nice clean strong 2 1/2 star hotel. Exercise room needs an upgrade. Could use a jaccuzi.

Front desk staff extremely rude. Whole hotel is in need of upkeep. Pools were very shabby especially the indoor one. Take my advice and find another place to stay

Suits all your needs for a getaway near all kinds of locations at your fingertips without having to pay a fortune. The room was no frills but it was very comfortable and was exactly what we needed. The location of the hotel makes is extremely easy to get to several places for things to do and see. Just 15 minutes from Salem and 30 to Gloucester and Rockport!

Fact they graciously allowed me to make a lunch for our family (consisting of college children and siblings visiting only for a day). Only thing I felt was a bit inconvenient was fact the parking lot was quite a distance from the entrance. I felt this hotel was comfortable, especially the beds; the staff were friendly and very helpful. The amenities were sufficient for a very relaxing stay. I felt the hotel went beyond the norm in allowing our entire family to use their facilities after our college daughter's swim meet. This was really appreciated by several family members who were only in the area for the day and could relax before driving 6 hours back to Pa. It was so much nicer to eat a simple lunch in the hotel's breakfast room, rather than take small children to a restaurant. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and stay there again myself if in the area.

Convenient to Salem (20 minutes). Pricey, but less than Salem hotels. A little tricky to find, but convenient to Rt1. Very clean. Spacious room. Continental breakfast well-stocked with good variety of selections. Helpful front desk staff. Steeply sloped parking lot.

Comfort Inn North Shore, Danvers, Massachusetts is a typical Comfort Inn. It's clean, the beds are comfortable, the showers powerful, there's a TV, and you won't really get anything more for the money you pay, but then you shouldn't expect more anyway. It's right next to the highway, but our bedroom faced it, and we couldn't hear any traffic so it wasn't a problem at all.

Location - close to Boston but beyond 128. Excellent value. WiFi service is uneven. Fine in some rooms, not good in others. We're in Boston a lot, in our late 60s and early 70s. This one is an excellent value, has a very good breakfast arrangement, is very quiet and accessible. The beds are very comfortable, the place is clean. Nothing to complain about.

"Our first stay was good enough that we reserved rooms right then for when we would be coming back through. However, when we returned, they had no record of our reservation and turned us away. No effort was made to help us find other lodging, or even a map to other hotels. Late at night we found ourselves desperate for a safe, clean place to stay."
