The Comfort Inn is located within easy walking distance of 5th avenue right near the Empire State Building and whatever else you could need (i.e. Walgreens, NYC pizza shop, Irish pub). It was quick and easy to check in, the room was comfortable and clean. Bathroom was on the very small side, but all necessities are there. Staff was friendly. Easy to get a cab. I would recommend this for budget travelers who need to stay in Manhattan.

My kids/grandkids and I went to NYC for my 50th Birthday.. reserved hotel on online travel website. * A NITE Got to hotel, checked in and went to room.. it was a "SMOKING" room, with 1 DOUBLE bed..I had reserved a NON-SMOKING with a Queen bed.. went downstairs to tell the front desk and the guy started arguing with me that I had reserved a SMOKING Double room.. I explained to him that I had asthma and he could tell that I had a hard time breathing and my eyes were watering and I had to go get a glass of water... I asked again to be moved to a non-smoking room.. and I hadn't printed up a copy of my online travel website receipt.. which was a HUGE mistake.. He said they didn't have any more rooms available.. so.. my kids and I went out into the City and came back around 1130 pm and there was a group of about 30 elderly folks checking in and they were getting non-smoking rooms & some smokers so they got smoking rooms.. but I couldn't breathe and ended up sleeping in the HALLWAY WITH MY PILLOWS AND BLANKET cuz I couldn't breathe and they REFUSED to move us to a non-smoking room on Sat so again.. I had to sleep in the hall/stairwell so I could breathe.. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE, wall paper in bathroom was falling off the wall, and mildew in shower

The comfort Inn Manhattan was not in a good location. The view was of the building next door. The electrical was such thet you could not use the blow dryer and air conditioning at the same time - it would blow a fuse.

This was a good hotel and a good value. The room was small but clean and quiet, service was friendly. Drawbacks: continental breakfast was crowded, and, a major annoyance, the water temperature in the shower was variable and hard to control. Still, I'd stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay. Staff was great. Rooms & Elevators are very small, but clean. Restaurant was very nice & good Continental Breakfast included. For the money, this was a great value for NYC.

a front desk person that could care less, not smile, and be put out by a simple request. The room was small but clean. the stairs needed to be cleaned. There was no suitcase stand and the room was very noisy.

The Comfort Inn Manhattans' location was great for my needs. We arrived by train at Penn Station and were within walking distance of 2-3 blocks to the hotel and vise versa upon chekout. It is also a fairly short walk to Times Square and the Rockefeller center. The Empire State building is just around the corner, and Macy's is just down the block. The room was bigger than I expected and the hotel offered some really nice services for its guests.
