The place was nice convenient and provided a decent breakfast. The let us check in early as well. The parking area was a little small. This place is nice for a weekend get away. It's walking distance to all restaurants and stores. It's a nice place for the price.

Located just a block from all major activities, this place looks like an old mom and pops place that was acquired by a chain, who invested quite a bit in updates and created a comfortable and cozy environment. The rooms are clean (no smell of cheap cleaner, which some hotels use to cover up the smells of old must and dust). The bed is comfortable, on the firmer side. Heater works great (for those who mistakenly think that Northern California is a warm place). All rooms have a small fridge, microwave and basic cable TV. The bathrooms are newly updated with tile, vanity and shower with good water pressure. Daily housekeeping keeps a good stock of towels, soaps, shampoos, etc. The staff is what you would expect out of a small hotel with one clerk on duty from early morning until late evening. We did, however, hear a disgruntled couple, that arrived late at night and could not find their key, which from what I understood, was supposed to be left under the doormat for them. So, if you plan on arriving late, be sure to call ahead and confirm that your key is there. Slim breakfast selection of cold serial, muffins, bagels, coffee, tea, OJ, and fruit is the last resort! One major drawback is the noise level from adjacent rooms and outside. The walls don't seem to have any sound proofing, so you can follow any conversation (and other activities for that matter), than may be happening next door. Also, unless you're an early riser, you will be awakened around 8:30 by the housekeeping activities outside and inside adjacent rooms. Downstairs rooms are rather claustrophobic. Overall, good place to spend the night and get going early.

The overall decor of the room was welcoming, spectacular. It was worth the money.

This is a remodeled older motel (most motels in Carmel are older).Marble in bathroom, coffee and 'fridge in room. Very clean, very friendly, family run. NO ODORS; not cooking smells, smoking. Cute garden patio. Only half a block from shopping in the quaint part of town! Many people there were loyal repeat visitors.

Cottage setting at a reasonable price. Worrying about parking although we had no problem. The staff was very friendly. The room was small but very clean and no unpleasant odors.

Great charm, new bathroom, easy parking and very clean. Walls are a bit thin. Great romantic get away potential, close, walking distance to Ocean Avenue shops and restaurants. A good buy for Carmel.

Charming setting & a very good location, close to restaurants. Thin walls, could hear snoring next door. The room was on the small side but quite functional and well appointed -nice bathroom! Common areas and landscaping were charming, with limited on-site parking but it was a very short walk to shopping and restaurants. I would still recommend this hotel and stay there again. It was an excellent value for a one to two night stay.

Room and bathroom were both large and clean. Walls were paper thin - I could hear every word said in adjoining room. Most impressive are the size of the room and large bathroom with nice fixtures. TV offers many selections. Complimentary breakfast was very nice. Downside, the walls were so thin I could hear every peep from the couple in the next room which was very annoying. If not for that, I¿d give this hotel a "9" for its class, but noise is a major drawback, especially in peaceful Carmel.

They have a wonderful continental breakfast that stays open until 10:30am for those of us who like to sleep in. What's there not to like? Situated on Ocean Avenue, the main street in Carmel, this lovely hotel is in the perfect location for walking, window shopping, and enjoying the fine restaurants of Carmel. The rooms are nicely decorated and supplied with all the conveniences you could need. Outside there is a great patio perfect for afternoon cocktails and a game of dominoes. I highly recommend Comfort Inn, Carmel-by-the-Sea.

I enjoyed the hotel very much and would even more in the summer time. Need more parking space. The manager was very nice and the breakfast was very nice even though I didn't eat there but I did see what was available. I liked the "Dutch doors".

The hotel was within a few blocks walking distance of downtown Carmel. Nothing. It was raining so we got a bit wet going to the office for breakfast and to check out. The hotel was ideal for our overnight stay in Carmel. Relative to other hotels, the room were very nice and clean. We did have to walk about Carmel for a while to find a restaurant open after 9pm.
