This was my first stay while in town for my sis wedding. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable and the front desk staff very friendly & helpful. Pretty much everything in the area, food, shopping, etc. I would definitely stay there again.

30 minutes walk from the metrostation!

Close enough (2 miles) from the Metro to be convenient for sight-seeing. The rooms were clean but old(er). Staff was very nice and accomodating. Breakfast was OK. The mattress was very hard with a plastic mattress cover. For the money, we were satisfied. If we had wanted a nicer mattress, we could have paid the extra money to go to a slightly more up-scale place. We only needed a place to shower and sleep after a hard day of walking in the museums and monuments. We got that at a good price.

This is a basic hotel at a reasonable rate. It was clean, comfortable, safe and nice and quiet. The staff was professional and courteous. There is a nice Italian restaurant next door and fast food options close by. The neighborhood was a little depressed but not dangerous. Overall, I had a very pleasant stay while I conducted business nearby.

The hotel is good for a short stay: clean, spacious rooms with all facilities, friendly staff but a bit far from Washington DC and in almost an isolated area.

I stayed here for my spring break trip in Washington D.C. It was a great hotel, especially for the price. It's only about 2 miles from the Metro station that takes you into D.C. so it's very convenient. The staff was incredibly friendly and even though there had been a mix up with our room and we ended up having to share a double bed, they were very apologetic. The room was very clean and comfortable. Overall, I will definitely stay here again!

The staff was not friendly. The neighborhood is not good.

The hotel was more than I expected base on some of the negative reviews. Overall I had no complaints over the service & yes it was not a 5 star hotel but I thought it was very good for the price. If I were in the area again I would probably use this hotel again. I might add that wee used a handicapped accessible room which was a little snug but with some furniture shifting we made due. Depending on your level of mobility don't expect to use the bathtub without bringing some of your own assistive aides. Also if you do have a problem don't go down ranting and raving but kindly eplain your problem & they will work with you. The room we originally were given was not cleaned when we got there so I kindly asked about this & we were given another room.

The power was out for well over 5hrs. that resulted in no A/C,tv, lights or elevator. The elevator was not fixed by the time we left the next day and we had to carry our luggage down 5 flights of stairs. This was hard on myself, due the the fact that I'm handicapped. I have stayed at many Comfort Inns over the years and found this one to be the most under staffed in maintenance help that I've seen. I was kind of dissapointed in by this....

Looking for a simple, "down to the point", decent and clean place to put your head down for the night, "Comfort Inn Capitol Gateway" is where you should go! No exaggeration just the fact: We did not expect to stay for the night in Washington DC. especially doe to it's high, very high coast for a 'one nighter'!! Booking in Comfort Inn was fast and efficient! First we were under the impression that for the low price we paid the conditions would come accordingly... -as soon as we arrived we were positively surprised! -The rooms were clean and welcoming! TV, wireless Internet and local phone calls for free! the service was a bit slow but we were happy! we got an extra folding bed for the room for free. and most important: a good sleep!

Check in went smoothly, room was clean, TV wasn't the greatest (but I don't watch it much anyway). The check in clerk was very helpful in helping us find ut how to use the area transit system. The metro stop was right out front, making the trip into DC easy. The breakfast was more than adequate (great coffee) although the breakfast room was way too small. All in all I felt it was a great value and would definately do it again.

Since we were only interested in a clean place to stay, our expections were reasonable for the price we paid. Only complaint was the coffee pot handle was broken....no big deal. Good service and the front desk even found some cough drops for my sore throat so I didn't have to search out a pharmacy. Nice little breakfast of pastries, juice and coffee. If you are looking for fancy, this place ain't it. If you want soft pillows and good clean quarters, it's a safe bet. You might want to include one of those door jam security rods for extra safety, though I did NOT see anybody that gave me concern. Easy access to Metro by car about 2 miles. If you wait until 10 a.m. exactly there is lots of parking---not before 10! You can also get a bus out front but we didn't try it. So far my credit card has only been billed the amount quoted at booking. Overall this hotel experience DID definitely meet my standards. Great little Italian restaurant in walking distance (right next door) but not much else except fast food and iHop.

-rooms even when clean, don't look fresh and are dark -location is good

I picked this hotel because it's closed to DC and we were just looking for place to stay, we went out to sightsee all day so we didn't care how much going on in the hotel. Neighborhood is ok, better than downtown DC. Plus the parking is free (compare to the hotels in downtown which always charge $15-20 a day) I paid $66 for a night. And it's few miles from all the sites in DC. Just don't expect a five star treatment, they do have WIFI which I enjoyed. Free breakfast.

The first thing I noticed while entering in the hotel was the bad, old smell. We ran over a bottle in the middle of the parking lot, then we had to replace the tire. I DO NOT RECOMMEND for people staying there with a family, or... anyone. My wife cried the first night because of all those things put together. The room smelled bad, the curtains were filthy, the bathroom was O.K. but seen a lot better too. The bed was O.K. too. We had the room next to the elevator, IN FRONT of the ice machine ( VERY NOISY ) and Right next to the staff stares ( Eveyrone pass through there, house keeping, etc) I could go on and on and on. The guy at the front desk wasn't friendly.
