We had stayed at this hotel a few weeks ago and it was fine, not fancy but good service and comfortable room. The air conditioner didn't work but the weather was ok. This time we started to check in and noticed a sign that said pool was closed for repairs. That is the main reason that we booked this hotel. We endend up going to another motel with no pool but 20.00 a night cheaper and nicer rooms.

I liked the convenient, easy-to-find location. I liked the cleanliness of the room and the furniture was in good shape and the bed comfortable.

Stains on walls in bathroom. Carpet was dirty. We visit Ames a couple time per year to visit our daughter. This place was bad. Breakfast was unappealing and water for tea tasted bad.

Large and clean rooms. Excellent bed. Friendly staff. Nice Swimming Pool with Hot Tub. Very good breakfast with nice looking display. Will stay here again. Recommend to everyone.

The dirtiest hotel I have been in, rooms were not clean, hallways dirty, could go on and on. The lobby smelled of cigarette smoke, and this smell carried throughout the entire place. The carpet in the rooms was dirty, with hair and dust collected around the walls and comers of the room. Pulling back the bedspread, which was stained, the sheets were rumpled and appeared used, pulling back the sheets the mattress had hair on it, the bathroom toilet had shreds of toilet paper in it and was dirty, and the bathroom floor had hair on it. The receptionist was not friendly.

Last time we stayed at the Ames, IA Comfort Inn, we were very dissatisfied with many things. We decided to give it another chance. What a pleasant surprise!!! We had an awesome room, very clean and quiet. It had a very comfortable chair for relaxing, a desk and chair, two suitcase stands and there was a fridge and microwave in the room, too. The bathroom had a huge counter, we could set up my wife's makeup case and my shaving kit with room to spare. The bathroom was very clean. The front desk people were so friendly and attentive this time. The continental breakfast was very tasty with a great assortment of goodies. The pool was still very chlorinated, kind of burned our eyes, but realize it must be kept clean for everyone. We will be happy to stay with them again.

Pool was nice. The flood. The staff was very helpful when the police started the evacuation. We were also able to get in after the flood waters went down to retrieve our belongings.
