Date of Stay:

Pretty pricey considering the loud freeway noise. Rooms were decorated fairly dark, making it seem cave-like. I choose this hotel because of its location and the free shuttle to the airport, which was a real plus.

Loved the location and the room was extremely comfortable. It had a GREAT TV channel selection. The comfort level exceeded my expectations! The only thing, we did not like was the way their parking is set up. Too low of a dip. The stay was wonderful. The TV channel selection awesome. The accommodations are GREAT! Would totally recommend this hotel to my friends and family!

The hotel is very nice , the service is good and efficient, clean, and in good location. I highly recommend this hotel.

My wife and I as well as my Parents took a trip down to San Diego and i know the area fairly well and have stayed at numerous hotels. This time I decided that we would stay very near old town as it would allow my wife and mom a place to roam on Super Bowl Sunday. I chose this Hotel because of their great reviews and good price for each room with a King non smoking. First off, the room they gave my wife and I smelled of Cigarette Smoke so back down to the office where they switched us to a room on the other side of my parents. If extreme freeway noise bothers you you can't get away from it unless you go on the other side of the building, which only has queen beds according to front desk. During the first night my parents discovered that they had a device that made a rumble and a bang all night long. They are in their 60's and 70's and they did not get any sleep but the hotel gave them a different room way down the hall from my wife and I. The place is clean and the free breakfast is good for the the price. The staff did not comp us anything for our troubles and quite honestly there are better places to stay so I can't give this hotel a good rating based on our experiences.

This was an overall good trip we loved the free breakfast and the shuttle was also convenient. The hotel employees seemed very helpful and the rooms were pretty clean and nice. You can hear the freeway from the room but it is nice to be within walking distance to downtown Old Town. We would stay there again.

Parking was cramped, access to office for check in was a chore. A nice hotel by the airport, friendly staff, rooms small but clean and very nicely set-up. I would recommend a stay as long as the price feels right to you. Parking was cramped and unfriendly.

Motel satified all our needs. Room was more then adequate, clean, and well maintained. Service of entire staff was excellent. Customer service clerk was very helpful in providing touring information including brochures.Complimentary breakfast more then adequate. Only issue they may be of concern for a light sleeper is the proximity of Interstate #5 adjacent to the motel. Get room on opposite side of motel for less street noise.

We stayed over the 4th of July weekend but the price still seemed a bit high. We had to change room because of the Freeway. The complementaly breakfast was outstanding. Since we booked online they didn't give us military discount.

Very convenient that all our airport and cruise terminal transportation was provided. It was also nice to have free computer/internet access. Bathroom exhaust fan didn't work or worked very poorly and I found a cockroach in the room. Comfortable and convenient. Very business/tourist oriented.

pleasantly surprised that the location was so perfect for meetings at the MCRD but still tucked in to the edge of old town with a patio/deck area that is perfect for a quickie get-away to enjoy the weather. Pleasant staff, nice business/office support area and continental breakfast.

Just a short walk from old town, which was great to walk off the yummy Mexican food:) Take the old town trolly to tour the city. Staff was very helpful, room was quiet and pretty good breakfast.

In two stays the bathrooms have rivaled luxury hotels for neatness and cleanliness. Wireless Internet access is not fortified with a wired connection point.

We stayed here in January 09 for MCRD Graduation. The room was very nice, roomy enough for 4 of us. The hot tub/spa was great and had a beautiful view. The best part of this hotel is the staff. They went beyond helpful in assisting us getting to and from MCRD and around town. We highly recommend Comfort Inn Old Town.

We had a room on the quiet side so did not have any problem with freeway noise. The room, breakfast, and the hotel location was good to access almost any tourist area. Our problems were with the sink stopper - couldn't get it to release. The front desk quickly got maintenace there and got it fixed. Then the toilet stopped up and we could not get the shower to turn on (it looked newly installed). Front desk offered to sent maintenance, but we had to leave for the airport. The desk did apologize.`

Location was perfect for the activities we had planned. Centrally located. Very small pool, shower head was leaking and appeared to be ready to fall off. Overall this was an ok hotel. Staff was very friendly and rooms were clean. The pool was very small with the Jacuzzi quite a distance away, you had to get out of the pool, out of the gate, and walk back to the lobby almost to get to it. The location was perfect. We were in San Diego for 3 days. We went to Petco Park and the zoo. This hotel was within 4 miles of both and just up the street from Old Town. All and all we would stay again but not for more than the 2 nights.

The room was a decent size and clean. Great TV! Staff was very helpful and nice. Good breakfast, usually was refilled well. The waffles were especially good. There were hard boiled eggs along with the bagels, cereal, and danish. Business center opened 24 hours was nice, along with the use of a printer. Hot tub opened 24 hours was very nice. Didn't use pool. It was in a shady area and wanted to lay in the sun since the temps were in the high 60's. We didn't get in the pool. Area was a little business and residential. Seven blocks from Old Town, so not that close, but not a bad walk. Part of the walk back at night felt a little wierd in places, but generally was OK.

I called the hotel twice to confirm that they would provide airport shuttle at 10:30 PM when my flight arrived (second call with Orbitz rep in three way) and they promised we will be met. When I called from the airport I was told that the airport shuttle stopped at 10 PM. I had to pay for an extra day of car rental. I complained to no response. I blame Orbitz 50% for this. The breakfast was so not nutritious - only bolied eggs and toast, nothing hot. Some guest ruined the microwave by heating a boiled egg in it - it exploded ! What a mess ! They promise a "HOT" breakfast - two broken promises ! Otherwise the room was clean - like expected. Not worth the $89.00 per night charges !

Moderately priced and located near my destination. Underground parking stalls are a little small. I have stayed in much fancier hotels, but this hotel has a lot of punch for the money. I will definitely stay here again. Staff is very polite and helpful and the rooms seem older but well kept. We stayed on the freeway side and with the window closed it was no problem at all with noise. We had a refrigerator, microwave and computer in our room, which was great. All in all a lot of value for the money.

At first we didn't think the location was very good (we did not rent a car this trip) but found that historic OLD TOWN was a comfortable walking distance and the hotel offered FREE transportation to SAN DIEGO ZOO (Admission: $35, $31.50/Senior) and SEA WORLD. Also, the SAN DIEGO TROLLEY (Fare: $2.50, $1.25/Senior, one way or $5 all-day pass) was just a few blocks away and took us to SHOPPING CENTERS and DOWNTOWN SAN DIEGO. The ammenities were good and the maid service attentive and pleasant. Rooms have sattelite programming on a 36" flat-screen TV and local telephone calls are free. Complimentary daily newspaper and BREAKFAST BUFFET included bake-your-own waffles, fresh fruit, yogurt, juice, coffee/tea/milk and cold cereal. Very nice pool area with beach towels provided. We will stay here on our next trip.
