I stayed at the colonial motel and had a very pleasant stay.

Run down commercial district next to I5. Door was loose in frame, no dead bolt, no chain lock. I wouldn't let women or children stay here. Staff were a little sketchy, but were helpful and efficient. Toilet flush handle sticks in the open position but can be manually reset. There is no reading light by the bed. Slightly musty, moldy, smoky, and too heavy an application of carpet deodorizer. For all that, I still managed a good night's sleep. I ran a little late on check out and the staff were understanding.

While the one staff person I encountered was very friendly and the hotel location is good in terms of being close to the freeway, this hotel has a very SCARY appearance from the perspective of a single woman. There are large trashcans, mismatched chairs, and coffee cans full of sand and cigarette butts outside of the rooms. It looks like a flophouse on the outside. There are lots of single men wandering around in the middle of the day, with the appearance of living there full time. The room was clean overall, but I was very afraid of the stained, thin white comfortor that was bare of any duvet or other sheet that would separate me from the stains.
