The Coconut Court Hotel was not so good as we expected. The beds were very uncomfortable. I didn't sleep well (6-7hrs) all 10 nights. The shower is very, very tiny. The sheets were changed only one time for 10 nights. The beach is dirty, I found even knife in the sand. The diner, dishes were clean.But there is not big choice for vegetables and fruites. The hotel location was not bad. In general, the Barbados now is a big construction place where is not relaxing atmosphere at all. We don't recommend Barbados for anybody now.

the hotel is pretty basic. the breakfast leaves something to be desired. the eggs were runny and no meat whatsoever. the view from the ocean view room was beautiful, and the staff were all very nice. my wife could not eat the food there though so we ate at tgi fridays, an italian place called bonos, that had great subs. the guests were all very nice too. many of them were repeat visitors. the main problem we had with the trip is that american airlines planes are always late. we missed our connecting flight because of that, and had to spend the night in a miami hotel and they did nothing for us at all even though it was thier fault. i will never fly american airlines again. another lady had her flight cancelled at the last minute and the next day she missed her connection because the flight was late too. she spent two days trying to get back to boston................american airlines =VERY VERY BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you are looking for a quiet place to simply lay on the beach alll day and soak up the sun, then Coconut Court is the place for you. The rooms are very clean (excellent maid service) and the room has all the basic amenities that you need. I had an Ocean Front room, and woke up the the beauty of the ocean every morning. At night, I would sit on the balcony and let the sounds of the ocean soothe me. There is some, but not a lot of entertainment if that's what you're looking for, but the hotel is very close to local entertainment if you're interested. The best thing for me about the place was the beach; the hotel is literally on the beach. There was plenty of shade in the form of beautiful palm trees (most of the other hotels do not have this) and even though all the beaches in Barbados are open to the public, due to location, you felt like you were on a private beach. Every morning, I would go down to the beach, grab a lounge chair, and stay there all day. I would even eat on the beach, because there is a bar and bistro there. The food at the restaurant is good, but pricey. I mostly ate there because it was convenient. The hot tub is also great. They have a large one (holds about 10 persons confortably) and a small one. I also liked the fact that serurity was always very visible, even though I never had reason to feel unsafe. Early morning or late night, they were always on patrol and were very helpful. You should definitely take Ted's Tour. Ted gives you an entertaining and comprehensive bus tour of the island in a very comfortable setting.

My partner and I work in the service industry in NYC. We were looking for an inexpensive, relaxing and beautiful weeklong getaway. We found it at The Cocount Court Beach Hotel in Barbados. Every aspect of our trip was better than we could have imagined! We had direct flights to and from NYC. We left at 8am and were laying on the beach in front of our hotel, with drinks in hand, by 2pm. The hotel is charming and has character (versus the massive blocks of lookalike hotels you find farther down the beach with row after row of tourists packed together on loungechairs like sardines). The staff is warm, friendly and very accomodating. At no point during our stay did we have any complaints. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and have great views of the ocean! The water in front of the hotel is great for taking a quick dip. The beach is loveyl! Large palm trees spread out all over the beach. It felt very natural. The breakfast buffet was fine. I am not sure what everyone is complaining about in previous reviews. There were many choices and the food was simply breakfast food...eggs, fruit, french toast, pastries, coffee, juices...what more are people looking for out of breakfast? The dining area is open air with a nice view of the beach. We ate dinner at the hotel twice while staying there and enjoyed both meals! The pool area is great and there were two hot tubs. I thought the location was excellent! The bus stop is located across the street and can take you all over the island . We walked the coast in both directions on separate days and discovered beautiful beaches and spots in Barbados. Also, coming from NYC, Barbados is extremely inexpensive!!

Rekindled love in Barbados in Sept. 2007. I would recommond this hotel to anyone and everyone very convenient to everthing, excellent service and very friendly staff can't wait to go back next year.

First I would like to say that my husband and I enjoyed Barbados very much, but our hotel Coconut Court had many things that needed improvements. On the plus side the view from our room was great, most of the staff very nice, and we enjoyed some of the wonderful guests there. On the minus, the beds are hard as a rock, there were never enough beach chairs for the guests. People were up saving lounges as early as 5 am-not what I want to be doing on a vacation! The beach towel policy is terrible. You get one- for your entire stay! If you want a clean one, it'll cost you 4 dollars! There is no coffee in your rooms, nor shampoo, something that would have been nice and inexpensive to the hotel. If I would have known now what I do, I would not have stayed there. The beach was fine (except no chairs) but it's not the greatest to swim in- very shallow during low tide. We did see a monkey run down the pool wall one morning, which was very exciting. While the staff in the resturant are very nice- the food is certainly nothing to write home about. I would suggest going across the street to Mama Mia's. Very good food and it gets crowded so you might want to make a reservation to make sure you get a table. Beach dog was wonderful and very spoiled, but hey we love dogs. Ted's Tour was ok, but too pricey for the tour and a bit corny for us. We really did enjoy the weather and the flying fish sandwiches at the Hilton Gap. Worth the walk. I felt safe and the islanders all seemed warm and friendly. The club across the street is very loud.

i visited barbados, as a last minute getaway and didn't want to break my bank. coconut court was selected, based on the price, my expectations weren't high. checking into the room was a breeze. upon walking into the hotel room, i immediately thought... wow, this isn't bad at all. i stayed in a room, which was clean and spacious. the hotel is on the beach and although my room was on the bottom floor, i could see the water, which was another pleasant surprise. a buffet breakfast was included in my rate and it consisted of basics, such as juice, cereal, bread, fruit, etc. if i'm not mistaken, eggs were the only hot food served. overall, the hotel is pretty quiet, so i guess if you're expecting a party every night, this is not the place for you. the bus stops into the city (bridgetown) and out of the city are right by the hotel. the price is 75 cents (u.s.) and $1.50 (bajan). had i known, instead of taking a taxi from the airport, i would have walked across the airport's parking lot (3 minutes), to the bus stop and taken the bus to my hotel. lesson learned, as i saved the $20 bucks or so i spend the first upon arrival and took the bus to the airport, for my departure. just make sure you get on the right bus. the drivers and/or their assistant will help. you can use the buses to carry you all over the island. i didn't feel the need to rent a car. my only gripe is minor. i left my favorite bikini in the room and it hasn't been mailed back to me.

This is overall a very nice, simple hotel... definitely nothing fancy, but the breakfast was wonderful with very friendly staff, and having the private beach was most enjoyable. Rooms reasonably clean, and having the kitchenette was great and a real money saver! Only major drawback during our stay was the very loud, open air bar directly across the street from our room. We had a flight leaving at 8am on a Sunday morning, and were kept awake until 3:30am Saturday night by the obnoxious thumping music. Noise from bar was not bad during the week. If you stay here, recommend asking for a room towards the back of the hotel... not facing the main road! If I could be guaranteed that by the management before staying, would stay at this hotel again.

What a great place to stay! The staff was all very friendly and the room service was reliable. We stayed in a simple but pleasant oceanfront room with fantastic ocean views with beautiful sunsets. The beach was spacious and very quiet and clean. Every Tuesday is "meet the staff" night at the bar with free rum drinks from 6-7 pm. Our package included a free breakfast buffet which was wonderful each morning. I highly recommend including the buffet in your package, food is expensive in Barbados! I highly recommend Coconut Court your anyone visiting the Barbados area!

My son and I stayed at the Coconut Court in Barbados for 8 nights.The staff was friendly and helpful. We had an oceanview and the beach is beautiful. Our room was standard with a small kitchenette. It was very clean but not upgraded. The AC was very good and quiet. All the rooms have doors that open on the street. There is a bar across the street which can get very loud on weekends. Be sure to take Ted's Tour (Ted is the son of the owner of the hotel). He takes you all around the island with a wonderful buffet lunch that is included and lots of rum punch. The hotel dining prices are high so I suggest eating most meals offsite. Most of the restaurants close at 9:00 PM but there is The Golden Horseshoe down the road a couple of miles. The prices are reasonable and the food is great. They are one of the only places open late at night. It is easy to catch the bus right out in front of the hotel. Be careful walking on the road as the sidewalks stop all of a sudden and the traffic is heavy and fast! Do not miss Oistin's Fish Fry on Friday nights. It is a wonderful experience and the food is good and plentiful. The one negative is that there is no room service. I found the free buffet breakfast to be a disappointment....not enough food and extra charges for bacon and other items. I have stayed at many hotels and never been charged for items on the buffet. Overall, this hotel was OK for the money and I would probably stay there again.
