Coconut Beach Club is a small, intimate hotel located on a beach on the West-Northwest coast of Antigua. Newly renovated in 2004, this intimate, truly Caribbean resort offers sanctuary to all human souls who seek serenity and to get away from it all. All 44 rooms are beachfront, with doors opening to private balconies each with its own hammock within only a few yards from the turquoise Caribbean Sea. All accommodations are air-conditioned and have a ceiling fan, plus direct dial telephones, fridge, coffee maker and safe, a King-sized bed or two Twins and a bathroom with tub and shower facility. Junior Suites are larger and have kitchenettes, one King-sized or two double beds. At Coconut Beach Club the accent is on pampered relaxation. A spectacular one fourth mile white sandy beach lined with coconut palms, right at your doorstep, landscaped tropical gardens, a freshwater pool with sundeck and loungers are the foundation of this newly renovated resort. And then there is the impressive Caribbean-style reception hall, the charming al-fresco beachside restaurant, the comfortable TV lounge with panoramic view of the Caribbean Sea and beach and the main restaurant located poolside that offers fine dining and an extensive wine list in a very romantic setting. A wellness cottage where you can be pampered with a massage or a beauty treatment, and a small souvenir and sundries shop round out the main amenities. Sunfish sailing, snorkeling and kayaking are complimentary, as is the use of the two hard floor tennis courts. Golfers will find courses nearby, and horseback riding and scuba diving are available in the area. Nature walks are organized with a Medicine man and rejuvenating massages and beauty treatments are offered. Bird watching is also a popular past time with a multitude of birds from around the world having been spotted. The resort features two restaurants, one is located just yards from the beach and serves breakfast and lunch in a tropical al-fresco style setting. The main restaurant is located poolside and serves gourmet dinners from an exciting a-la-carte menu. The selective wine list offers more than 35 selections and is a must for wine enthusiasts. As a guest of Coconut Beach Club you also enjoy a free dine-around arrangement with its sister hotel, Coco Bay Resort. Cancellation Policy: If a cancellation is notified -through the system - no later than 14 days prior to arrival no penalty applies. Otherwise there is a cancellation fee of three (3) nights. No refund will be provided in the event of a no-show or an early departure.

Location Description:

The hotel is located just 20 minutes from the V.C. Bird International Airport/ ANU and 10 minutes from the nightclubs, duty free shopping and casinos of downtown St Johns. Within walking distance are Deep Bay and the ruins of old Fort Barrington. Cedar valley golf course is 20 minute away by taxi.

Dining:

Located on the beach and easily accessible from either the beach or poolside. Serves breakfast and lunch buffets and occasional Caribbean barbeque dinners in a tropical al fresco setting. Casual and laid back.

I can't say enough good things about the staff at Coconut Beach. They are just fantastic and make you feel welcome at all times. The hotel is a very good value for the money. The food is good - not great, the rooms are adequate - I don't spend that much time in the room anyway. The beach is small and can get quite rough. The atmosphere is very easy going with a somewhat older, very friendly, and mostly British clientele. This was our third visit to Antigua. We previously stayed at Coco's and at Long Bay Beach Hotel - both of which had better food and beach. No real bad complaints about Coconut Beach and if we'd never stayed at those 2 we'd have probably had a higher opinion of it. However Coconut Beach is significantly less expensive than either Coco's or Long Bay.

The Coconut Beach Club is tucked into a quiet corner off the city of St. John's and looked quite unassuming from the outside. However, the room was really an apartment, complete with a kitchen (not that we needed it). It was more comfortable than I anticipated (would have preferred a TV though). The private beach was the right setting for a relaxing vacation. The staff are really friendly and went the extra mile with a smile. The food, served in rustic, thatched dining room, was good. The steel band on Saturday night provided a nice ambience. Coconut Beach Club is good value for the price.

This was our first stay. This seems like a place for younger couples. They do not have a fitness center which is a negative. The food could be better and in the back yard a persistant bad smell exsisted. Every time you walked back to your room this foul odor filled your lungs. Staff was good but rude at times. They have a good taxi service. Laundary service was difficult to access. Had to wash our clothes in the bathtub and dry them in our rooms. Person at the front desk could be more helpful. Room service does not excsist. Overall an average location best suited for younger couples without children.
