Cheap tickets cancelled our room by accident and - sorry guys - werent supportive at all after mailing them four times. But [...], the manager of the hotel, saved our trip. He gave us a better room for the same rate. Nice little hotel, not like the others. A little bit outside of Santa Barbara, but still close enough. Breakfast is ok, but even though located in the nice restaurant next to the hotel (free) not very fancy. Santa Barbara is great, we would always come back here.

Good location, good price. Room kinda small, no coffee ready in the lobby in the morning. Dated but comfortable motel. Rooms are small but clean, but there are plenty of distractions nearby to keep one occupied. It is in a safe and upscale part of town and a short walk to Starbucks, etc.

Location, atmosphere, friendly and clean. Parking, mattress were too hard and walls were thin.

I had read reviews on other sites complaining about a mysterious bird. It sounds wierd, but a VERY aggressive, loud bird kept us awake from midnight until about 3 a.m. (and we were exhausted). Other guests were also disturbed, as someone threw a shoe (?) (assume they were aiming for the bird). Clerk acted as if he was bored of hearing bird complaints (I got the feeling they had the problem for a while) and was unsympathetic. He did, however, offer us another room to sleep in. Too bad, because this was a really cute hotel otherwise.

Coast village in was very calm and quite. The only bad thng is that the pool closes to early and the crowd is older so they complained about the noise.

It was very quaint. The office staff was extremly friendly. The bed was a little lumpy. The maids were loud as we were trying to sleep in. This hotel was conveniently located. The rooms were small, but cute. They are pretty clean. Some stains on the carpet, but the linens were great. It had wireless internet which was great, and a nice large flat screen TV. The only problem was the mattress. It was lumpy, it wasn't the best nights sleep I have had, but if it wasn't for that, I would have slept like a baby. It is very quiet. However, the maids were loud in the morning. We had the do not disturb thing hanging on the door, but they didn't seem to be able to use their inside voices. However, I will stay here again. It is very comfy and the Priceline cost made it very worth the money.

This is not a "nice hotel" but it is cozy and clean, and very reasonably priced. It is not fancy - no flat panel TV, no hairdryer, no iron, no coffeemaker - but the bed was comfortable and I enjoyed my stay. It really looks more like you're staying in someone's house than at a hotel/motel/inn... so if you keep that in mind, I think you will be pleased by the quaint room. I don't believe they had any internet access, but it seems like the sort of place you go for a weekend away from the computer anyhow! The desk staff was friendly, and I was happy that a continental breakfast at the neighboring restaurant was included. There are lots of locals over there, but I didn't feel snubbed by the staff or like an "outsider." People outside (or maybe in a nearby room?) were loud, and the walls are thin... bring earplugs just in case. Always a good idea while traveling! Also, the room did not have A/C... as a woman staying alone I did not want to sleep with the windows open, but the room was a comfortable temperature at night even in July. It is a short drive from downtown Santa Barbara, but there are lots of shops and some restaurants nearby - nice area. Overall good experience, and I would stay there again.

The manager was wonderfully helpful! Adorable little place for families and business travelers looking for a cottage style hotel. Ideal location for visiting SB!

Good location, but beginning to get a bit shabby. Better values for the price are available.

Very helpful, friendly staff. The atmosphere of this facility is definitely vintage 50's, so don't expect frills, but VERY comfortable. Overall atmosphere and Peabody's restaurant (a must to at least have coffee or a drink at) make this hotel one I'd revisit and recommend!

Location. Rooms tiny, furnishings getting worn, bathroom needed paint. Rooms tiny, furnishings getting worn; bathroom wall patches lacked paint, no A/C if it were to be needed. A 1940's era motel trading on its Montecito location without the value of similarly-marketed roadside inns on the central coast.

This hotel is NOT in Santa Barbara but in a small community about 5 miles south. We took the Amtrak train and did not rent a car.(Great way to go!) We would of prefered a hotel a little closer in towards town as monticito has only 2 restrants and no shops to speak of.....the hotel was clean and friendly, but the lack of air conditioning could pose a problem on the few real hot days. The only way to get freash air was to leave the windows open with blinds pulled back..therefore no privicy and was worried about security somewhat. Taxi fare is about $18.00 between town and hotel, not bad but adds up fast if you are not a walker. I suggest the restrant across the street and south a 1/2 block down, much better than the restrant/bar next door to the hotel. Have a great time in SANTA BARBARA !!

I loved the location and I loved the small warm environment. The bed was pretty uncomfortable.

The Coast Village Inn was a little too pricey for the size of the room though it was nice and quaint and didn't have that hotel/motel feel about it. THere was no air conditioner in the room so I can't imagine how it can be in the summer. We had a complimentary continental breakfast at the restaurant next door and the service was very slow and the food not really good. We did not partake in it the rest of our stay. Otherwise the location was nice and if need be, we'd probably stay there again.

Small, quaint, lovely. WONDERFUL staff. Cozy rooms, but VERY clean. The free "continental breakfast" at the neighboring restaurant was AWFUL. How can you ruin oatmeal? A quaint charmer on a quiet street. Our room was tiny, but met all of our needs. Everything was impeccably clean and fresh. Very helpful, friendly staff. Definitely recommended.

Room was OK, but noisy environment (bar of the hotel close to the rooms, with kind of party taking place late, people screaming, train close to the location of the hotel).

Very nice older hotel in a nice area of town and convent to the major freeway. No complaints. Nice older Hotel in a convent location. Close to freeway but only stayed overnight. I can't judge how convent it is to other attractions since we only visited Anta Barbara Mission.
