Very convenient location to all the restaurants and Denman St. and near Stanley Park. Rooms are old and need remodeled. Beds were not that comfy.

Our stay was short but very satisfactory and we encountered no problems. This property is absolutely recommended for a stay.

Don't let the older building put you off. The Coast Plaza is clean, neat, well-maintained and staffed by terrific people. The kitchen suite is an awesome value for the cost.

The hotel was very nice. A great location. Acouple blocks from English Bay Beach and Stanley Park. My kids loved the pool, used it everyday. The hotel only had one resturant for kids. It has a bar & grill that has pizza and a pasta bar, but kids are not allowed. There are a lot of resturants with in walking distant.

Room size was larger than many other hotels.

I stayed at this hotel in October 2008 and teh wireless internet service was spotty, and an office that is available in the lobby for web browsing and printing often had others waiting or door was locked. Room was clean, included a kitchen area and maid service was fast and effcient. for what I paid I was pleasantly surprised and would stay at this hotel again

I stayed in the King Suite - it was perfect for me & my family. There was a separate bedroom, living area & full kitchen. The view was breathtaking & quite frankly worth it alone. The area was very bustling with the beach 2 blocks away & lots of restaurants & dessert places within 5 minutes walk. We didn't eat anywhere but near our hotel & still didn't go to all the restaurants we wanted to. Our concierge was an awesome help, & gave great advice re places to see & eat. The cleaning staff were very good & because I had a baby & told them to come back in the morning, they just kept coming back til I was ready for them & they weren't rude or irritated by it. My hotel stay made the business trip easy - while I was away in sessions, my babysitter could take my son & be busy all day without any inconvenience, or stay in the hotel & have all the necessary amenities. Definitely the hotel made the trip for me!

Open windows and balcony with a view. Constant signing out of wifi access to the Internet. Irritating to have keep signing on over and over again. Well located, comfortable hotel featuring big windows with a beautiful view of Vancouver, English Bay, and the nearby mountains. The balcony was a plus, as was the refrigerator. Even the elevator was very quick.

This was truly a great experience! When I booked the trip, I found out I was placed in a room with double beds. Since I was travelling alone, I called the hotel after I found out and the lady politely told me there were no king sized beds available so I would be stuck with double beds. I was not too happy about that, but figured there was nothing I could do. When I showed up to the hotel and went to the room, I saw they did place me in a room with a king sized bed! I was very impressed. The room was immaculate and large. The balcony was also quite large and there were huge windows. I recommend getting a one-bedroom suite, as these rooms seem to be on the higher floors and the views are amazing. When I go back to Vancouver, this is the hotel I will stay in, as it is close to everything you will want to see. The Internet is free, but it is wireless. However, if you don't have a wireless computer, they have an adapter you can buy for $150 and then they credit you back $150 when you return it at check-in. Internet was slower than I was used to, but was fine. Local calls are also free, which is nice.

I read reviews of this hotel before we went and was a bit apprehensive. We paid for a "coast comfort" room, but ended up being upgraded to a king room/ suite. it's basically an apartment. the fridge and kitchen decor were aged and unstylish, but everything was clean and functional. the bathroom came with plenty of (large!!) towels, the bed was comfortable, and the living room had a nice couch, large TV and balcony. The front desk was helpful and nice. Bonus: they exchange money there, and the rate isn't bad--much better than the rate I got through AAA at home.this hotel is a high-rise building, so if you're a very light sleeper, you might want to request a room away from the elevators. they sound like a quiet train going by, which we found amusing, but if you have sleeping trouble it might be bothersome.

Proximity to beach, great to people watch, easy access to trolley. Poor lighting in the room, no instructions for A/C. Room was very comfortable, with a fair view (we were not facing the water). Check-in was smooth, pleasant staff.

This hotel is located in the West End, right off of Denman Street.Lots to see and do within walking distance.Lots of nice restaurants, bars and shopping. There's a mall underneath the hotel,so if you forgot anything at home, you can swing by the grocery store or the Shopper's Drugstore (complete with post office for mailing postcards). Pillows are thin, but our room was big, spacious and clean.Housekeeping can be a bit blunt/rude,but don't take it personally.Daily newspaper delivery was a nice touch. Our room had a kitchenette,so we could keep our water bottles/beverages cool.Didn't use the kitchen, though, as we ate out all the time.So much good food in Vancouver! We were very happy with our stay at the Coast and we will definitely stay there on our next trip to Vancouver.

I usually stay at 3 star hotelsin Vancouver and am very satisfied. I diecided to treat myself to a 4 star hotel. I selected a hotel recommended by the travel agency and got a good price. I expected a room on a lower floor and without a view. I did not expect a room that was shabby and dirty. The pillows were flat and hard. I woke up with a headache. When I reached for a towel, long black hair fell out of it. The table and kitchenette counter was sticky and dirty. I will not use this hotel again.

Usually when I'm choosing a hotel, I look at the pictures first. I want to see what the room's going to look like, and the general feel of the hotel will be. Now, I understand that they touch-up the pictures before posting them - that's basic marketing. However, they must have spent a fortune on PhotoShop costs because once I got there, there was very little about the pictures that was accurate. The hotel is in a bad area...I was told by the rental car agent who happened to live nearby to Valet because otherwise someone WILL break into the car. As a single woman traveling at odd hours, this was not comforting. Then, once I get there, everything is run down. The lobby was presentable, but shabby. The elevator and halls needed a new coat of paint and the carpet was threadbare. The room was quite large, but again, it just felt like it hadn't been touched up in years. As far as cleanliness, it wasn't filthy, but neither was it pristine. It just wasn't as clean as I would expect a hotel room to be. Especially one with such a high Travel agency rating. Plus, the towels were so cheap that they felt like sandpaper. At least the sheets were clean...although the bed was a nightmare...it was a box with springs and super uncomfortable. It could have been worse...but for what I was expecting and what I paid for, I would have been better at a Best Western. Normally, I would have complained and found another hotel, however, I was only in the room to sleep and shower, so I let it go. I would never stay here again, though, and highly advise to avoid it at all costs.

Location, close to English bay, spacious room, balcony. Dated decorationinside the room, bathroom needs update. It is an okay hotel, with a little updating would make a big difference. needs flat screen TV, cordless phone, new bed covers, new bathroom.

The lobby was nice, it was clean and in a good location. Rooms were very very dated, we had two small twin beds in our room. While the room was very clean, it was also very dated, 1970's style, it has not been updated in years. The lobby has been updated.

This for me is up there with my top hotels in Vancouver, I would highly reccomend this to friends, travelers and families. I don't have any complaints, the rooms are big, their staff is just amazing and the rooms are very quiet. There are two things that I felt that they could improve on which is their bathroom size and the crazy wall to wall painting in their 50 feet pool area with a nice hot tub. I stayed at the four sessons and the pan pacific and for the price you can't beat it for this kind of casual luxury. I am a very fussy person and this hotel met my standards and more. I recently went there for my birthday and stayed once again in their suites and was shocked to find that the room look the same as when I was there last time but for the price you get a room the size of a average apartment and your own balcony with a very nice view.
