Great location and 24 hour service to airport. Menu in restaurant could be updated to local seafood items. Hotel has been kept updated, but some attention to detail is needed. Quiet and clean.

Nothing. The room was dirty and I could hear the people in the other rooms. Poor location. Staff was not very friendly. No continental breakfast. The room was dirty. A piece of dirty paper was left on the floor and a dirty straw under the bed. The room also smelled like cigarettes but it was non-smoking.

close to airport and 24 hour airport service is a real plus.? Although this hotel has been here for some time, it maintained well.

Nice fitness facility and movie selection was great. Internet didn't work. Overall we had a fine stay but the hotel didn't have a pool, jacuzzi and the internet was lousy. We had little to no bars in our room, even in the lobby the strength of the reception was low to non existent. Staff couldn't help with the issue, room was clean, housekeeping was nice and friendly.

This inn is conveniently located near the airport and ABC Motorhomes, making it an ideal location for travelers seeking to RV across Alaska highways. The staff is very friendly and provided excellent service.

Hotel stay was fine....staff friendly.......room clean. Good hotel if you are leaving or coming in at the airport for overnight stay.

Free wireless internet. Short staffed at front desk. Good stay, comfortable bed, basic accommodations for travel.

It's a place to stay, close to the airport, for a reasonable price. Hallways and views are dark. Close to Lake Hood, there's a nice walk where you can see float planes take off and land. Timely free airport transport was also nice. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Lobby area of hotel was nice and location by lake also nice. Rooms had been remodeled but panels under carpet were loose and unlevel. Outside of the hotel really makes a person question checking in. They had tried to remodel rooms, but it was just a cheap cover up in some cases.

The hotel was very clean and my bathroom was well-stocked with toiletries and fresh towels and fresh linens on the bed daily. No elevator, would prefer breakfast to be included, ugly exterior. The building lacks an elevator, and as the rooms are on the 2nd floor; heavy luggage and those with special needs are not well accommodated. While the exterior is unflattering and makes one think of a highway-side motel, the inside lobby has the feeling of an upscale ski lodge with a large fireplace, leather couches and even a piano for those so inclined to entertain other guests. The rooms are simple but everything is made with fine materials. I was there in January so Lake Hood was very nice to look at, but I have read if you visit during the summer you may awake to float planes taking off and landing not far from your window. With all of this in mind, The Coast International Inn is a great place to stay and is in a great location being close to the airport and midtown Anchorage. What it lacks in amenities that the more popular chains offer, it makes up for in charm, cleanliness, good service, and a nice atmosphere.

Front desk clerk was helpful and friendly. The beds were not comfortable at all and the linens smelled smokey. This is an old hotel that has had the rooms redecorated, however it still smells like an old hotel and the beds appeared to be very old too. My son also accidentally left his Webkinz stuffed animals in his bed and after 2 phone calls to the hotel, we still haven't heard back from the housekeeping staff.

Their shuttle service was fast and the lobby looked nice. Our room looked dingy the room had a musty smell in it the bath tub wasn't clean. Yes the location of the hotel was perfect for airline travelers, the lobby had a nice appearence welcoming. However some of the staff was not very friendly to us. We didnt get to eat at pipers the resturant there but we heard their food was and service was excellent.

Service was excellent, very friendly and helpful. Rooms in fair shape, not real clean. Very good customer service, helpful. The bed and pillow left a lot to be desired, my back hurt for over a week. No trash bag, or bag for the ice bucket. Half-heartedly, at best, clean bathroom. Toothpaste marks on the mirror, floor not clean, caulking worn out.

The breakfast special in the hotel was a great value. Filthy hallway carpet and carpet in the rooms.

Close to airport. Dark, drab, house cleaning did not clean room and stated that I had sign do not disturb on door knob. I would not recommend this hotel for any business traveler. Too dark & drab to do any work in room or lobby.

There was a couple parking spaces available. It stunk, there was hair in the bathtub and the cleaning lady didn't clean or take out the trash hardly. It had a horrid smell, one of the furnaces wasn't working, there was stuff left behind from someone else when we arrived to our room, no elevators. There was a gym, but no sauna or hot tub.

Not much. Smelled smoky, shoddy furnishings and very old-school.

The price and friendly staff. The location and run down look of the hotel. Overall it was good. The price was fair. The building needs help, liked that it had free wireless. Other hotel guests were unfriendly because I think we were scared about the location of where we were.
Date of Stay:
September, 2008
Location is very close to airport, free internet in lobby. Older part of hotel is 1.5 to 2 stars. This place is two hotels in one. The older part needs to be renovated quite badly with better lighting and new carpets, and the hallways smell of smoke. The newer section deserves the 2.5 star rating. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, and the restaurant was pretty good (we ate dinner only). The lobby area is pleasant, and they provide free access to the internet there as well. If you need a place to stay before a cruise, this is ok however the cruise transfer buses actually leave from downtown, although you can get on a bus at the airport.
