Club La Costa at Marina del Sol

The Marina del Sol Resort complex enjoys a privileged position on the coast, as well as unobstructed sea views. It is within walking distance of the beach (300 m), 500 m from Club la Costa, with its restaurants and bars and 1.5 km from the town of Fuengirola. Miramar and its shops are 2 km and it is 4 km to the railway station. Mijas is 12.5 km and Malaga Airport is just 27 km away.

The Marina del Sol Resort was built as a typical whitewashed Andalusian village surrounded by exquisite landscaped gardens. It comprises a total of 800 apartments, a garden and a terrace.

Facilities on offer to guests include a 24-hour reception, a hotel safe, a games room, a bar and a restaurant. Guests have Internet access at their disposal as well as a car park and bicycle hire.

The apartments feature rustic wooden furniture and marble-tiled flooring. They have a lounge/dining room which connects to the well-equipped kitchens. All come with tiled bathrooms with bathtubs. The apartments are equipped with a hairdryer, a double bed, a direct dial telephone, satellite/ cable TV, a radio and a safe.

The kitchens have a fridge, a cooker, a microwave, tea and coffee making facilities and a washing machine. Furthermore, an ironing set is provided as standard and all units feature either a balcony or a terrace.

Guests can enjoy a refreshing swim in one of the property's outdoor pools for adults or children (1 of which is heated in winter), which are surrounded by lush gardens. Sports enthusiasts may enjoy a work-out in the gym, a game of tennis, minigolf or a relaxing game of petanque.

Pool/snooker is available and it is possible to try horse riding or cycling. The Team Marina club caters for children between 4-11 years old. The complex puts on a programme of entertainment for adults and children and activities may include Spanish lessons, bowling, archery and mini discos. Golf enthusiasts can also play a round at the nearby Mijas Golf Club, just 15 minutes' drive from the complex.

The property's Safari Restaurant serves varied international cuisine accompanied by a fine wine list and refreshing cocktails. There is a terrace for al fresco dining. Zacary's Restaurant offers local, Spanish and international dishes in an informal, Spanish-style setting.

How to get there: Guests arriving by car should follow signs to the A7 to Cdiz on leaving the airport. Bear right and follow the signs to Cdiz and then right again, following the blue signs to the A7, AP7 and E15 towards Benalmadena/Algeciras. Stay on the N340 A7 E15 and go past the exits to Torremolinos, Benalmadena/Arroyo de la Miel and Benalmadena/Mijas, following signs to Fuengirola/Algeciras. Around 2 km after passing the exit to Benalmadena/Mijas the road will divide. Bear right to take the A7 coastal motorway in the direction of Fuengirola/Algeciras (do not bear left on to the E15 A7 toll road towards Marbella/Algeciras) and go past all the exits to Fuengirola. Shortly after passing Fuengirola itself, there will be a castle on the left-hand side and a little further on, a campsite and petrol station on the right-hand side. Take the first right turn immediately after the petrol station. Go up the hill and follow the signs to reception.
